ALUMNI OF OELWEIN HIGH SCHOOL INCLUDING THE 24 CLASSES
The Names of Nearly Four Hundred Graduates From the School From 1894
to 1917 Inclusive. School fits for the S.U.I. and Other Universities.
The roster of the graduates of the Oelwein High School from the first
class in 1894 to that of the present year, will doubtless prove of
interest not only to the alumni and their families but to the friends
who know them.
There are nearly four hundred who have received diplomas from the
Oelwein High School, but many of them have moved from the Hub City to
other cities and other states, and some have moved to that mysterious
realm where each shall take his chamber in the silent halls from which
no traveler has ever returned.
The Register is indebted to Supt. Johnson and Miss Beatrice Becker
through whose courtesy the list of alumni is secured, and they request
that if any mistakes or ommissions are discovered in the roster of
graduates, either Supt. S. W. Johnson or Miss Becker, secretary of the
Oelwein High Alumni association be notified that the errors may be
corrected in the records of the high school and of the alumni association.
It will be found in glancing over the list that many of the graduates
are making good in professional and business life, and not a few of the
young men have volunteered and enlisted under the American Flag. The
Oelwein High School graduates are patriotic, capable and worthy young
men and women. Many of them have continued their education in college
and university and are giving a good account of themselves. The roster

The class of 1918 numbers forty-three (43) the largest class in the
history of the high school and it is probable that nearly all if not
all of them will complete the course and graduate next June. The high
school is in a most prosperous condition and its various departments,
literary, scientific, normal, manual training, domestic science, etc.,
are accomplishing good results. The faculty is one of the best of any
school in the state and the alumni and citizens take a just pride in
this college of the people. In oratoricals and athletics the Oelwein
high is taking a front rank in the state.
