She was born July 30, 1904 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Oliver Curtis and Mary Margaret Smeltser Daughters. On November 6, 1921, Nora was united in marriage to Charles Russell Martin in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1986.
Nora was a lifelong resident of Keokuk, IA and a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking.
She is survived by one son, Charles Carl Martin, Jr. of Keokuk, IA and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Graveside services were held at 10 A.M., Monday, February 3 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Jerry Goodrich officiating.
Doris McNitt

Doris L. McNitt was born on March 7, 1941 in Elizabethton, TN, the daughter of James Walter and Ethel Garaway Rogers Townsend, Sr. On June 7, 1958, Doris was united in marriage to Robert Douglas McNitt in Mason City, IA.
She had been employed at Morse Rubber in Keokuk, IA for 23 years, retiring in 1994. She also had been a Caregiver for Mrs. Florence Pumphrey for 27 years.
She was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk, IA. She was a member and past president of the USWA Local 444. She enjoyed having coffee with her friends at Hardees and was a member and president of the Hardees Coffee Club. Doris loved to play bingo and make arts and crafts projects.
Doris L. McNitt died Sunday, January 12, 2003 at the Keokuk Area Hospital at the age of 61.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of Keokuk, IA, five daughters, Bobette Burgess and her husband John of Keokuk, IA, Joliene Bodine of Keokuk, IA, Deborah Baum of Keokuk, IA, Sally Dobson and her husband Rick of Kahoka, MO and Robin Zohfield of Ft. Madison, IA, two sons, Timothy McNitt and his wife Julie of Osage Beach, MO and Robert Douglas McNitt, Jr. of Keokuk, IA, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one sister, Katherine Stone and her husband Hank of Magazine, AR, two brothers, James Townsend, Jr. and his wife Kay of Elizabethton, TN and Williams Townsend and his wife Judy of Belleville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Roger Townsend, and two grandchildren, Kenny Hayden and Hailey Dobson.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 15, at the All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk, IA, with Father Christopher David officiating. Burial was in the Hickory Grove Cemeteryin rural Keokuk, IA.
A Prayer Service was held at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials were established for the Hope House and the Ladies of Charity.
Robert McNitt

Robert D. McNitt was born on November 23, 1933 in Chicago, IL, the son of Hazel Myrtle Davis. He was adopted and raised by Basil and Blanche Weaver McNitt. On June 6, 1958, Robert was united in marriage to Doris Townsend in Mason City, IA.
Mr. McNitt was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict.
He had been employed at Fruehauf in Ft. Madison, IA for twenty-five years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the UAW Local #1462 and served as a Union Steward. He was also a member of the Eagles Club and the Hardee's Coffee Club in Keokuk, IA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing bingo and going to the riverboat.
Robert D. McNitt died Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at the Keokuk Area Hospital at the age of 69.
Survivors include five daughters, Bobette Burgess and her husband John, Joliene Bodine, Deborah Baum and Robin Zohfield all of Keokuk, IA and Sally Dobson and her husband Rick of Kahoka, MO, two sons, Timothy McNitt and his wife Julie of Osage Beach, MO and Robert Douglas McNitt, Jr of Ft. Madison, IA, twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, on January 12, 2003, his adoptive parents, two grandchildren, Kenny Hayden and Hayle Dobson and one son-in-law, Hayden Watts.
Funeral services were held at 1 P.M., Saturday, February 8, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA. Burial was in the Hickory Grove Cemeteryin rural Keokuk, IA.
Memorials were established for the Knights of Columbus or the Ladies of Charity.

Betty June Morrison, 73 of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at her home.
She was born April 2, 1929 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Jim and Maude Gilpin Martin.
She had been employed at Shellor Globe in Keokuk for twenty-six years and retired in 1991. She was a member of the USWA #444 Union.
She is survived by one brother, Paul Tatro of St. Peters, MO, one nephew, Robert 'Sonny' Inman of Keokuk, IA, one niece, Faye Spence of Florissant, MO, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Dehlia Inman, one brother, Guy Tatro and one half-brother, Nolan Welch.
Graveside services were held at 1 P.M., Friday, January 24 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Bill Olmsted officiating.
A Memorial was established for the Lee County Hospice.
Romalee McKeown

Born on February 12, 1940 in Grand Rapids, MI, Romalee was the daughter of Frances and Roma Dean Freeman. On December 12, 1987, Romalee was united in marriage to Gary McKeown in Hamilton, IL. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1995.
Romalee received her Bachelor of Arts Degree and Master's Degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. She had taught school in the Carthage, Illinois School District for 32 years, retiring in 1994. She had also been an instructor for night school at Carl Sandburg College in Carthage for 10 years. Currently she was employed at the Carthage Memorial Hospital and served as a volunteer EMT for the Hamilton Ambulance Service.
She was a former member of the BPW in Carthage, IL, a volunteer for AARP and served as an election judge. She enjoyed boating and being a part of the ambulance service. She loved to decorate for Christmas. Romalee was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.
Romalee F. McKeown died Sunday, February 16, 2003 at her home in Hamilton, IL at the age of 63.
She is survived by one daughter, Roma Jenkins and her husband Jon of Ft. Dodge, IA, one son, Stanley Hart, III of Newton, IA, one step-daughter, Susan Pitt and her husband Bob of Huntsville, AL, one step-son, Gerald James and his wife Kathy of Sutter, IL, two grandchildren, Katie and John Paul Jenkins, three step-grandchildren, Cara Cathcart, Mark and Erin James, one brother, John Helwig and his wife Marge of Keokuk, IA, one sister, Mary Freeman and her companion Rob Patterson of Carthage, IL, her mother-in-law, Jean Ferguson of Hamilton, IL, one sister-in-law, Gwyn Jones of Hamilton, IL, nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were held at 10 A.M., Thursday, February 20, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Dan Deatrick officiating.
A Memorial was established for the Hamilton Ambulance Service.
Edith Masden

Edith Maxine Masden, 77, of Kahoka, MO died Sunday, March 02, 2003 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA.
She was born September 4, 1925 in New Cambria, MO, a daughter of Ira Leroy and Elizabeth Belle Thompson Jacobs. She first married Guy James and together they had three children. She later married Perry P. Masden, Sr. on October 25, 1952 in Macon, MO. They were the parents of two children. Perry preceded her in death on March 26, 1987.
Maxine was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Gorin, MO. She had been a resident of Missouri all her life. Before retirement she had worked at IGA, Swifts on the turkey farm and at the Orbit Inn.
Survivors include two daughters, Alberta McNamar and her husband Larry of Memphis, MO, Carolyn Elveston and her husband James of Natches, MS, three sons, Terry James and his wife Cinda, Jr. Masden and his wife Pam all of Kahoka, MO and Mark Masden and his wife Melinda of Gorin, MO, one step-son, Perry Lee Masden and his wife Diane of Saverna Park, MD, one brother, Robert Jacobs of Odessa, MO, two sisters, Sylvia Shoemaker of Macon, MO and Ethel Slater of Marceline, MO, 22 grandchildren and step grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, David McNamar and Brian James, two great grandsons, Ryan McNamar and Joshua McNamar and six siblings, Vera Shoemaker, Harold Jacobs, Pearl Duncan, Ray Jacobs, Dean Leroy Jacobs and Kathleen Cockrum.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Reverend Clayton Peak officiating. Burial was in the Gorin Cemetery.
Visitation was held after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday with the family meeting with friends from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Edward Masden, Dennis McNamar, Douglas James, Travis Ellison, Kevin James and Brett Masden.
Musical selections were "In The Garden:" and "One Day at a Time."
Memorials were made to the American Cancer Society, the Clark County Chapter or the American Diabetes Association.
Charles McKinna

Charles D. McKinna was born September 5, 1954 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Ernest W. and Betty Ann Mitchell Hammel. On December 26, 1974 he married Patricia Hawkins in Keokuk, IA.
Mr. McKinna graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1973. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served from 1973-75.
He had been employed at Metzler Automotive in Keokuk, IA for twenty-three years.
He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and was a past scoutmaster. Charles enjoyed woodworking, reading books by Louis Lamour and was a collector of comic books and John Wayne movies. He was a loving father and grandfather and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
Charles D. McKinna died Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at the Keokuk Area Hospital at the age of 48.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Gittings and her husband Stanley of Keokuk, IA, Barbara Sue Oilar and her husband Daniel of Montrose, IA, one son, Charles DeWayne McKinna II of Keokuk, IA, three grandchildren, Brian Daniel Gittings, Samantha Jean Gittings and Alleanah Ellen Rae Oilar, three sisters, Chris Hartley and her husband Bill of Keokuk, IA, Thelma Jean 'Brandy' Bevel of Keokuk, IA, and Ruth Ann Hammel Fox and her husband William of Kahoka, MO, five brothers, George 'Joe' Hardesty and his wife Kim of MO, Ernest Eugene Hammel and his wife June of Iowa City, IA, James Lee Hammel and his wife Debby of Wellman, IA, Danny Rae Hammel of Honolulu, HI and Paul Woodrow Hammel and his wife Tina of Palmyra, MO, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jane Lea Hammel.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 8 at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk with Reverend Fred Lohman officiating. Burial with Military rites was in the Oakland Cemeteryin Keokuk.
A Memorial was established for the Boy Scouts Troop 43.
John Meister

John Gregory Meister was born June 6, 1954 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Roy S. and Philipa C. Meister.
John graduated from Keokuk Senior High with the Class of 1972.
He had been co-owner with his brother Bill, of the Double Eagle in Keokuk, IA from 1975 - 1984. He had also been employed at Ringstrom Electric for several years.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk, IA. He enjoyed growing tomatoes in his backyard and going boating.
John Gregory Meister died Saturday, August 30 at his home at the age of 49.
He is survived by two brothers, Bill Meister and his wife Cindy of Keokuk, IA, Phil Meister, of Keokuk, IA, one nephew, Todd Meister and one niece, Ann Meister.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Fred Meister.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 4 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Dan Dietrick officiating.

Mary Opal McLaughlin, 90, of Kahoka, MO, died Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO.
She was born October 16, 1912 in Kahoka, MO, the eldest daughter of Oswald Clement and Caroline Cecelia Clark McLaughlin.
Mary had lived most of her life in Clark County, MO. She attended grade school at Union #57 and also taught there for a few years. She was a graduate of Kahoka High School in 1933. Mary later moved to Kansas City, MO to attend school and became a dental assistant. She worked as one for a few years in Hannibal, MO. She had worked as a billing clerk for Midwest Waxed Paper Company in Fort Madison, IA for 30 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kahoka, MO and a member of Daughter’s of Isabella in Fort Madison.
Mary loved reading books. After her vision failed she had a friend read to her. She preferred religious books and had just completed “The Mass” and was currently enjoying “Women and Grace,” a book about prayer.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Robert “Grace” Plough of Shawnee, KS, four nieces, Judy Greene, Mary Meier, Carledi Smith and Patricia Harrop and three nephews, Dan McLaughlin, Mike McLaughlin and Michael Plough.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and their spouses, Joseph Roland “J.R.” McLaughlin and his wife Betty of East Moline, IL and Carl McLaughlin and his wife Edith of Kahoka, MO and one nephew, Bill McLaughlin.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, September 19, 2003 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kahoka, MO with Father Roland Carbone officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
Visitation was held after 1:00 P.M. Thursday with the family meeting with friends from 6-8 P.M. at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO. A scriptural rosary service was held at 7:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Lucille F. McGrew, 88, of Keokuk, IA, died Sunday, November 23, 2003 at the Keokuk Nursing Center in Keokuk, IA.
She was born March 6, 1915 in Denver, IL, the daughter of William Carl and Goldie Laporte McGrew.
She was a life-long resident of Keokuk, IA and was a member of the First Christian Church of Keokuk. She had been employed as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell for many years prior to her retirement.
Lucile loved to read and enjoyed taking walks.
She is survived by a cousin, Mary Louise Guild of Keokuk, IA, a sister-in-law, Melva McGrew Webber of Bonita Springs, FL and a nephew, Larry McGrew of Bear Creek, OH.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., Tuesday, November 25 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Bill Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemeteryin Warsaw, IL.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Edna Isabelle Mueller, 92, of Quincy, IL formerly of Kahoka, MO died Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Home in Quincy, IL.
She was born on December 13, 1911 in Clark County, MO, the daughter of Ernest and Lucy Shallenberger Rayburn. On June 19, 1931, Edna was united in marriage to Bruno Carl Mueller in Victor, Iowa with Bruno's father, Rev. August Mueller, officiating. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1981.
She had been employed by GTE for 22 years, serving as an operator and chief of operations. She later worked as the Recorder of Deeds for Clark County, MO.
She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Keokuk, IA until she was unable to attend. She then attended the St. Paul United Church of Christ while residing in Kahoka, MO and was presently a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Quincy, IL.
She loved to crochet and was a loving mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family. She was also very active with her church.
She is survived by one son, Robert Mueller and his wife Janett of Quincy, IL, three daughters, Betty Nelson and her husband Gerald of Indianola, IA, Mary Schleeter and her husband Carroll of Prairie Home, MO, and Donna Gann and her husband Richard of Springfield, MO. 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Charles and Richard Rayburn and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Saturday, January 31, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Rev. Harold Bender officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
Visitation was held after 9 A.M. Friday with the family meeting with friends from 6 - 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Lorraine McCreedy

Born on November 14, 1920, in Streator, IL, Lorraine was the daughter of Max and Minnie Slager Winkler. On June 29, 1940, Lorraine was united in marriage to Arthur C. McCreedy in Ft. Madison, IA.
Lorraine graduated from Ft. Madison High School in Ft. Madison, IA with the Class of 1938. She had been employed at Drydens in Keokuk, IA, and then worked at the Donnellson Elementary School and High School for several years.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ft. Madison, IA. She served on the Board of Directors for the Donnellson Library. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and tending to her violets. She especially enjoyed working crossword puzzles and often began her day with a crossword puzzle in her hand. Lorraine was a loving mother and grandmother and cherished the times she spent with her family.
Lorraine Ann McCreedy died Friday, February 13, 2004 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA at the age of 83.
She is survived by two daughters, Leslie Skinner and her husband Dan of Ankeny, IA, Ardith Wells and her husband Terry of Warsaw, IL, one son, David McCreedy and his wife Maria of Middleton, WI, seven grandchildren, Amy Beck, Dustin Skinner, Jule Dirksen, Laurie Wells, Kambra Wylie, John McCreedy and Michael McCreedy, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Mary Louise Scalia and her husband Daniel of Chicago, IL and one brother, William Winkler of Streator, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, on December 30, 2002, an infant daughter, Julia, and her parents.

Frances Miller

Born on October 12, 1928 in Keokuk, IA, Frances was the daughter of Wm. Russell and Hazel B. Jester Kinnamon. On June 25, 1947, Frances was united in marriage to Harley Renz Miller at the St. John's Episcopal Church in Keokuk, IA.
She was a graduate of Keokuk Senior High School and attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
She was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church in Keokuk, IA and was very involved in church activities. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge and getting together with classmates and friends for monthly lunch outings. Frances was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the times she spent with her family. She touched many lives with her generosity and kindness.
Frances K. Miller died Saturday, March 6, 2004 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA at the age of 75.
She is survived by her husband, Harley, of Keokuk, IA, one daughter, Margot Mary Miller of Hammond, IN, one son, John William Miller and his wife Debbie of Keokuk, IA, two grandchildren, Travis Michael Miller and Jessica Mae Miller, two cousins, Marilyn and Barbara Maxwell both of St. Joseph, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one cousin, Margaret Davidson.
Memorial services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 10 at the St. Johns Episcopal Church in Keokuk, IA, with the Reverend Bruce D. Bloise officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
A memorial was established for the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.
Opal Miller

Born on June 26, 1916 in rural Keokuk, IA, Opal was the daughter of Irvin V. and Lillie M. Brower Davis. On April 22, 1936, Opal was united in marriage to Russell Miller in Keokuk, IA.
She was a faithful member of the Keokuk Church of the Nazarene and had served as Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher and President of the missionary society. Opal enjoyed sewing, crocheting and making craft projects.
Opal L. Miller died Thursday, September 16, 2004 at the River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA at the age of 88.
She is survived by her husband, Russell of Keokuk, IA, five sons, Gerald Miller and his wife Bonnie of Olathe, KS, Leonard Miller and his wife Barbara of West Des Moines, IA, Edward Miller and his wife Rose of Morrisville, N.C., Paul Miller and his wife Kay of Des Moines, IA, and Dennis Miller and his wife Teresa of Olathe, KS, seventeen grandchildren, twenty seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Edith Coovert of Keokuk, IA, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. Friday with the family meeting with friends from 7-9 p.m. at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA.
Michael Moore

Michael M. Moore was born March 17, 1947 in Ft. Madison, IA, the son of Oscar and Elizabeth Wenke Moore. He first married Elizabeth Morgan on March 21, 1971. On June 14, 2003, he married Vicki Hamelton Padgett in Warsaw, IL.
Michael graduated from Central Lee High School in Donnellson, IA with the Class of 1965. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam war.
He had been employed at ADM in Keokuk for 33 years.
He was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of the Local 48 American Federation of Grain Millers.
Michael enjoyed playing pool, pitching horseshoes, hunting and watching sports, especially NASCAR. His favorite pastime was riding his Harley motorcycle.
Michael M. Moore died Sunday, November 7, 2004 at Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA at the age of 57.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki, of Keokuk, IA, one daughter, Carey Moore, one son, Corey Moore and his wife Elizabeth all of Keokuk, IA, four step-sons, Shawn Padgett and his wife Erin of Joliet, IL, Steven Padgett, Shayne Padgett and his wife Amber and Jamie Padgett and his wife Norma all of Keokuk, IA, nine grandchildren, his mother Elizabeth O'Connor of Elvaston, IL, two brothers, Dennis Moore and his wife Karen of Ft. Born on October 28, 1918 in Edina, Missouri, Ruth was the daughter of Cleveland and Sadie Arment Hudnut. She married John Robert Cunningham on June 29, 1935 in Edina, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1945. She married James McGinnis on January 15, 1949 in Edina, MO. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1981
She had been employed at the Holiday Inn in Keokuk, IA for over 20 years, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of the All Saints Parish in Keokuk, IA.
Ruth enjoyed working in her garden and canning the produce she grew. She loved to watch sports and was a loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Ruth was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Ruth M. McGinnis died Sunday, November 7, 2004 at the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage, IL at the age of 86.
She is survived by two daughters, Becky Kerr of Keokuk, IA, and Patty Swafford and her husband James of Mediapolis, IA, seven sons, Charles Cunningham of Center, MO, Ed McGinnis of Kansas City, MO, Terry McGinnis of Clinton, IA, Jay McGinnis and his wife Sara of Sheridan, WY, Dennis McGinnis and his wife Connie of Keokuk, IA, Mike McGinnis and his wife Alice of Hamilton, IL and Vince McGinnis of Keokuk, IA, twenty grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one step-sister, Opal Courtney of Ft. Madison, IA.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Mary Hudnut and one brother, Wallace Hudnut.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 11, at the Church of All Saints in Keokuk, IA with Father Robert Lathrop officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 11, at the Pauline Cemetery, Rutledge, MO.
Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. Wednesday and the family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA.

Ross Earl McKinzie, 74, of Kahoka, MO died Saturday, November 20, 2004 at his home.
He was born March 7, 1930 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Riley and Alberta Ross McKinzie. He was united in marriage to Becky Nelson on January 23, 1971 in Keokuk, IA. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters LouAnn Odom and her husband Gerry of Lee's Summit, MO and Heidi Hays and her husband Ambrose of Monroe City, MO, three grandsons, Geoffrey and Lucas Odom, both of Columbia, MO and Patrick Odom of Lee's Summit, MO, and one sister, Marianna Wilson of Wayland, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ross graduated High School in Kahoka with the class of 1947. He was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA. He was also a 50-year member of The Hiram Lodge #362. He had farmed and was an auctioneer for most of his life.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
Visitation was held after 11:00 A.M. Monday with the family meeting with friends from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Richard Lavern McGee was born August 28, 1938 in Keokuk, IA the son of Harry Edward and Minnie Elizabeth Ferguson McGee. On July 3, 1965, Richard was united in marriage to Gloria Boone in Warsaw, IL.
Richard had been employed at United Cities Gas, now known as Atmos Energy, in Keokuk, IA for 34 years until his retirement in October 1997.
Richard was a people person. He never knew a stranger that he couldn't strike up a conversation with. He was an excellent handyman and was always working on his house, his family's or the neighbors. He had served as a volunteer fireman for the Jackson Township Fire Dept. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and had been on a bowling team. Richard was devoted to his family and cherished the times he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed taking his family on vacations.

John N. Nicol was born on July 11, 1927 in Knox City, MO, the son of Raymond E. and Violet M. Goodson Nicol. On July 27, 1951, he was united in marriage to Bertha H. Cochran Nelson in Kahoka, MO.
Mr. Nicol was a veteran of the United States Air Force and Navy.
He was a resident of Davenport, IA for twenty-eight years, moving to Keokuk, IA in 1984.
He had been employed at Electro Metals in Keokuk, IA for ten years and then worked for the Rock Island Railroad for 28 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of the Eagles Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Keokuk, IA. Mr. Nicol had many interests and hobbies, including hunting, fishing, woodworking and treasure hunting.. He also was a ham radio operator, a gunsmith and locksmith and collected model airplanes.
John N. Nicol died Sunday morning, September 1, 2002 at the Genesis West Medical Center, Davenport, IA at the age of 75.

Nicol and his wife Judy of Wayland, MO and Robert Nicol and his wife Barb of Blue Grass, IA, thirty three grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, two brothers, Londale Nicol and his wife Kay of Ft. Worth, TX and Bill Nicol of St. Petersburg, FL, four sisters, Charlotte England and her husband Albert of Canton, MO, Jean Stubblefield of Lakewood, WA, Mary Lou Winn and her husband Michael of Spring Grove, PA and Betty Amon and her husband Jerry of Ft. Worth, TX, several nieces and nephews including Violet Cady, Omer Cady, and Kenneth & Cindy Lovell, who showed special friendship by loving and caring for Mr. Nicol.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Charles Nicol, one grandson, Charles Nicol, one sister, Wilma Ludwig, two brothers, Frank and Charles Nicol.
Graveside services with military rites were held at 11 A.M. Thursday, September 5 at the Wyaconda Cemeteryin Wyaconda, MO with Pastor Terry Lovell officiating. Following the Graveside service, family and friends gathered at the St. Francisville Community Center in St. Francisville, MO.
A memorial has been established for the family.

Born on August 31, 1919, Maxine was the daughter of Walter A. and Hazel B. Johnson Tanke. On February 1, 1942, Maxine was united in marriage to J.T. Nusbaum at her parent's home.
Maxine graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1937 and was a graduate of Lindenwood College in St. Charles, MO.
She had been a resident of Keokuk for the last 12 years, moving from Denver, CO. She had been employed at State Central Bank in Keokuk, IA, taught school in Bethany, MO and was a librarian in Columbus, OH.
Maxine was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Keokuk, IA, the PEO and the Rainbow.
She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved to spend time with her family.
Maxine June Nusbaum died Sunday, September 19, 2004 at the Keokuk Area Hospital at the age of 85.
She is survived by her husband, J.T. of Keokuk, IA, two sons, Craig A. Nusbaum and his wife Sandra L. of Canfield, OH, and James T. Nusbaum and his wife Margaret of Montrose, IA, six grandchildren, Douglas and his wife Rachel, Eric and his wife Lisa, Michelle Marshall and her husband Justin, Christy Bunnell and her husband Dave, Missy Benner and her husband Kenton, James Nusbaum and his wife Tonya, nine great-grandchildren, Emily Nusbaum, Maddie Nusbaum, Truxton Marshall, Thomas Benner, Keiten Benner, Andrea Benner, Kelsie Bunnell, Kimberly Bunnell, and Kadence Nusbaum.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mildred Fogelsong.

Teresa Lynn Overhulser, 44, of Kahoka, MO died Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
She was born June 14, 1959 in Avon, IL, a daughter of Ross Edward and Doris Vivian Suter Ragon. She married John Goddard on June 17, 1977. To this union two sons were born. She later married John Overhulser on March 14, 1996 in Branson, MO. He survives.

She graduated from Prairie City High School in Bushnell, IL with the Class of 1977.
She was employed as manager of Casey's in Kahoka for 10 years. She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed camping, fishing and sewing. She was an avid Viking Fan never missing a game. She liked to collect chickens. Teresa was a very helpful person, always there to help those in need. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family. Each of her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, just as she did in theirs. The love and wonderful memories she has created will never be forgotten.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 24, 2004 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Burial was in the Combs Cemetery, Luray, MO.
Visitation was held after 1:00 P.M. Friday with the family meeting with friends from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Harold J. Petty was born on November 9, 1920 in Montrose, IA, the son of Jesse and Grace Noonan Petty. On October 10, 1953, Harold was united in marriage to Mary Kathryn Warren McLaughlin.
Mr. Petty was a veteran of the United States Army and served as a Radio Operator during WW II.
He had owned and operated Keokuk Roofing and Siding Co. in Keokuk, IA for several years. In August of 1971, he moved to Boise, ID and managed the Ponderosa Gun Club for three years and the Boise Gun Club for three years after that and also served as the City Building Inspector. He retired in 1994 and moved to Zillah, Washington. He returned to Keokuk, IA in 1997.
He was a member of the Meridian United Methodist Church in Boise, ID, the Isaac Walton and the Tri-State Gun Club where he received a Diamond Badge in trapshooting. He bred, raised and showed Golden Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and had several Grand National Champions. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved to read and work crossword puzzles.
Harold J. Petty died Monday, March 31, 2003 at the Montrose Health Center in Montrose, IA at the age of 82.
He is survived by his son, Gary McLaughlin and his wife Mary of Keokuk, IA, two grandchildren, Teta Land and her husband Kenny of Keokuk, IA, and Kim McLaughlin and her friend Jeff Snider of Keokuk, IA, one great-grandson, Tyler Land of Keokuk, IA, one brother, Charles Petty and his wife Mary of Keokuk, IA, one sister, Hazel Martin of Keokuk, IA, one sister-in-law, Bernice Petty of Keokuk, IA, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary on July 7, 1992, his parents, two brothers, Glenn Petty and Faye Petty, two sisters, June Johnson and Erma Horner.
A memorial service was held at 2 P.M., Thursday, April 3, 2003 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Frank Schuermann officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Keokuk Naitonal Cemetery.

She was born September 28, 1964 in Keosauqua, IA, a daughter of Larry and Linda Campbell Mitchell. She married Michael Paar on August 1, 1992 in Kahoka, MO. He survives.
Other survivors include her father, Larry Mitchell and his wife Kathy of Kahoka, MO, one daughter, Brianna Paar and two sons, Brennan and Brayden James Paar all of the home, one sister, Stephanie Edgington and her husband Larry of Mt. Pleasant, IA, one half sister, Penny Sue Booth and her husband Paul of Donnellson, IA, four half brothers, Sammy Mitchell of Kahoka, MO, Michael Mitchell and his wife Susie of Jefferson City, MO, Jeff Mitchell and Todd Mitchell, both of Texas, her grandmother, Ada Campbell of Kahoka, MO and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather, one aunt, Shirley Thomas and one cousin, James Wood.
Sally had lived most of her life in Kahoka, MO. She had most recently worked at the Keokuk Area Hospital as a surgical nurse. She was certified in Geriatrics. Sally worked at nursing homes in Donnellson and Ft. Madison, IA. She had been the Director of Nurses at the Ft. Madison Health Care Center and later certified in Administration. She then was the Administrator of the Ft. Madison Health Care Center.
Sally was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was the ultimate caregiver, always there for others. She was well liked by everyone. She enjoyed coaching children in baseball and basketball. Above all else, Sally loved spending time with her family and being with kids. The love and wonderful memories she has created with her family will never be forgotten.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Pastor Dick Clifford officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
Visitation was held after 1:00 P.M. Tuesday with the family meeting with friends from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

He was born September 15, 1919 in Sullivan, MO, a son of Andrew Watts and Onnie Zellmyra Bacon Roller. He married Vivian Jane Berrie on June 22, 1940 in Davenport, IA. She died on November 15, 2000.

Noble was of the Baptist faith. He had worked at the Kahoka Cheese Factory as a boiler operator for 25 years, retiring in 1981. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in WW II. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Okinawa, Late and Lusan.
Noble enjoyed fishing and watching old westerns. He had a collection of horses and Avon cars. He loved to tease his grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 9, 2003 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Pastor Tim Roller officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
Visitation was held after 2:00 P.M. Sunday with the family meeting with friends after 6 P.M. at the funeral home.
