PAUL TROULSEN HANSEN
Paul Troulsen Hansen, son of Peter and Anna (Mork) Hansen was born September 24, 1913 in Des Moines, Iowa. He died on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at the Stanton Care Center, Stanton, Iowa at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 18 days.
Paul was baptized at the Danish Lutheran Church in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the youngest of nine, one brother and seven sisters. He graduated from East High School in Des Moines and attended the Danish Folk School at Grand View College and Drake University for two years. His parents were born in Denmark and came to the United States in the 1800's. Paul and his father operated a poultry and egg business in Des Moines. After his father's death, Paul kept the business going for many years during the depression. Later he was employed at the Rock Island Railroad and was a guard at the ammunition plant during World War II. Paul married Helen Ruth Crooks on September 24, 1936 in Des Moines. Paul and Helen had two children: Judy and Thomas. He was a member of the Grand View Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing as a hobby. In 1996, Paul and Helen moved to the Stanton Care Center to be near family. They celebrated 70 years of marriage on September 24, 2006. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and seven sisters.
Paul is survived by his wife, Helen R. Hansen of Stanton, IA; two children: Judy Honette and husband Jon of Stanton, IA and Thomas Hansen and wife Jane of Charlottesville, VA; four grandchildren: Kim McNees and husband Joe of New Market, IA; Kris Lindgren and husband Eric of Fremont, NE; Kari Linden of Omaha, NE and Kelly Wilson and husband Jon of Fremont, NE; nine great-grandchildren: Preston and Cassidy McNees of New Market, IA; Morgan and Taylor Lindgren of Fremont, NE; Tyler and Alec Linden of Omaha, NE; Tanner, Hannah and Sarah Wilson of Fremont, NE; brother-in law: Dan Diamond of DeLand, FL; nieces, nephews and other family members along with a host of friends.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 10:00 A.M.; At Sellergren Lindell DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak; Rev. Dr. Eric Kutzli, Officiating; Burial in Mamre Cemetery, Stanton, IA

ORVIS WAGAMAN
Funeral services for Orvis Wagaman, age 87, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Villisca, Iowa, who died Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at Midlands Hospital, Papillion, Nebraska, were held Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church, Villisca, Iowa, with Reverend Doug Delp, officiating. Interment with military rites accorded by the Ker-A-Vor American Legion Post No. 251 was held in the Villisca Cemetery in Villisca, Iowa. Memorials can be directed to the American Red Cross. Arrangements were entrusted to the Crosby Burket Swanson Golden Colonial Chapel, of Omaha, Nebraska and Ritchie Funeral Service of Clarinda, Iowa.
Orvis Austin Wagaman was born April 4, 1919 in Clome, South Dakota, the son of Clevie Austin Wagaman and Ona Mae (Higgins) Wagaman. Orvis served his country during World War II in the United States Army and was a prisoner of war. He was united in marriage January 3, 1946, to Carolyn Nelson at Hiawatha, Kansas. Orvis worked in the Villisca Power Plant after returning from the service. He also farmed until 1970. In addition he sold memberships for Ed Nelson and he also traveled as a salesman for the Power Plants. He was forced to retire from his most recent job as advertising salesman due to a heart attack. Orvis enjoyed working on his computer as a hobby. He was a member of the Faith Westwood Methodist Church, Omaha, Nebraska. He was also a member of the Villisca V.F.W., American Legion Post 251 and Disabled American Veterans.
Orvis is survived by his wife Carolyn of Omaha, Nebraska; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Robert Boe of Gretna, Nebraska, Brenda and Al Rotella of Omaha, Nebraska, son and daughter-in-law, Jan and Kimberly Wagaman of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; brother, Davis and Sharon Wagaman of Villisca, Iowa; grandchildren, Marc and Molly Miller, Tiffany and John Skokan, Tim Marvin, Nick and Tony Rotella, Austin and Taylor Wagaman; great grandchildren, Meghan and Garrett Miller, Kelsey, Kade, Kiley, and Karson Skokan; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding Orvis in death were his parents; daughter, Barbara Miller; two sisters, Helen Lewis and Lucille Hazelton and three brothers, Fred Wagaman, Harold Wagaman and Charles Robert Wagaman.
May God grant comfort and strength to those who mourn his passing.

Evaleen May Sprague
Funeral services for Evaleen May Sprague, 70, of Villisca, Iowa, were held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, June 4, 2007, at the Wolfe Funeral Home of Villisca, Iowa. Dr. Charles Peterson officiated the service. Evaleen passed away Friday, June1st at the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center in Red Oak, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Heartland Hospice. Service arrangements were handled by the Wolfe Funeral Home of Villisca, Iowa.
Evaleen May Sprague was born on February 11, 1937, in rural Taylor County, Iowa, to Carl and Florence Eva (Jones) Sparks. She attended schools in New Market, Iowa. On August 16, 1957, Evaleen and Robert Sprague were united in marriage in Maryville, Missouri. She worked in the Everready plant in Red Oak, retiring after 37 years of service.
She was an active mother and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She wasn’t shy, letting everyone know that "she ran the show". She enjoyed sewing, quilting, mending the clothes, cooking and was known for her recipes.
Evaleen is survived by sons Rick and wife Vickie Sprague of Bedford, Randy Sprague and special friend Deb, three step-sons Montie, Mike and Kenny Sprague, sister Doreen Drennen of New Market, brothers Frank and wife Karlyne of San Mateo, California, LeLand of San Francisco, California, Oliver of Red Wood City, California and Jerry and wife Janie of Benton, Kentucky, sister Linda and husband Marty Williams of Clarinda, three grandchildren Jodi and husband Kenny McGargill of Randolph, Jenni Livengood and friend Wade Belt of Council Bluffs, Kevin Sprague and friend Faye of Shambaugh, three great grandchildren Luk Miller of Randolph, Elizabeth Livengood of Council Bluffs and Emma Belt of Council Bluffs. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceding Evaleen in death were her parents, husband Robert in 1994, and two brothers Darwin and Carl Sparks. Evaleen will be remembered for her ornery personality.

DOROTHY MAE COLE
Dorothy Mae Cole, daughter of Carl Herbert and Mila (Lawson) Berg was born on July 3, 1919 at Coin, Iowa. She died on Sunday, May 13, 2007at the Stanton Care Center, Stanton, Iowa at the age on 87 years, 10 months, 10 days.
Dorothy graduated from Essex High School in 1936 and was then employed for 11 years at the offices of the May Seed and Nursery Company in Shenandoah, Iowa. Dorothy loved music and during this time, she sang in the Essex community choir. Dorothy was united in marriage to Donald Lemoine Cole on July 3, 1948 in Essex, Iowa. Dorothy and Donald were engaged in farming south of Stanton, where they made their home and raised their family. In 1972, after 25 years on the farm, they moved to Stanton. Dorothy was a part time employee for Farmers Mutual Telephone Company in Stanton before retiring in 1981. Dorothy was an active member of the Mamrelund Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir for many years. She was active in the LCW/WELCA organization, and served as a member of the church council and was the financial secretary for 16 years. Dorothy was a 59 year member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary #406. She was a former member of the Stanton Literary Society, the Mayflower Club and was a charter member of the Friendly Study Club. Dorothy treasured her family and home, and had a passion for music, reading and sewing.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Cole on April 23, 2003; infant son, Delaine Allen Cole; her parents; two brothers: Carl H. Berg and Samuel E. Berg, and three sisters: Aletha J. Swanson, Helen Geraldine Goranson and Fairy M. Gray.
Dorothy is survived by two sons: Rodney L. Cole and wife Rhonda, of Las Vegas, NV; Roger E. Cole and wife Kathleen of Osceola, IA. Five grandchildren: Rodney L. Cole Jr. of Omaha, NE; William R. Cole of Omaha, NE and James P. Cole of Papillion, NE; Dennis E. Cole and wife Jennifer of Clarinda, IA and Heather L. Preston and husband Vincent of Waukee, IA; sister-in-law: Virginia Avila of Modesto, CA and many other relatives and friends.
May God bless her memory and comfort those who mourn.

Lavanna "Bannie" May Golay
Funeral services for 89 year old Lavanna "Bannie" May Golay of Villisca, Iowa, were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca, Iowa. Pastor Gordon Scott of the Villisca United Methodist Church officiated the service. Lavanna passed away Friday, April 27, 2007, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa. Lavanna "Bannie" May Golay was born in the family home in Villisca, Iowa, on November 4, 1917, to Lee and Mary (Coy) Stallings.
Lavanna attended and graduated from Villisca High School with the class of 1938. In January of 1942, Lavanna and David Golay were united in marriage in Missouri. Lavanna, being a house wife, devoted much of her time raising her family and tending to her flowers. She also liked to can the fresh vegetables from her garden. She enjoyed cooking and watching her soap operas. After her husband Dave retired, they spent several years camping and fishing at several lakes around the area. She was a member of the Villisca VFW Auxiliary.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Mary Lee and husband Glen Sharp of Bedford, Linda Golay of Clarinda, grandchildren Debra and husband Doug Maher of Stanton, Dan Sharp of Bedford, Diana Clark of Red Oak, David Sharp of Bedford, great grandchildren Kris Maley, of Stanton, Kyle and Amber Sharp of Bedford, Paige and Ethan Clark of Red Oak, brother-in-law George Golay of Iowa, sister- in-law Erma Stallings of Arizona and Alice Garvin, of Des Moines; nephew Russ and wife Debbie Acton of Villisca and numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Lavanna was preceded in death by her parents, husband David in 1995, son Bobbie, sisters Dessie Acton and Eunice Moore, and brother Brainard "Lee" Stalling; Ashley Maley and Brook Maley .
Memorials may be directed to the family. Service arrangements were handled by the Wolfe Funeral Home of Villisca, Iowa.

DeWitt Talmadge Haley II
DeWitt Talmadge Haley II, 72, of Nodaway, Iowa, passed away April 10, 2007, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
DeWitt was born on December 21, 1934, to DeWitt Sidney and Edith (Eledge) Haley in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
DeWitt and Marjorie Hoschar were married on April 4, 1959, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
Memorials may be directed to the family. No services were scheduled. Arrangements were handled by Wolfe Funeral Home of Villisca, Iowa. He attended schools in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. DeWitt was self employed working in construction. He owned Marges Pool Hall in Villisca for 10 years prior to retiring. DeWitt is survived by his wife Marjorie of Nodaway, daughters Laura and husband Dennis Newton of Creston, Becky and husband Larry Pond of Nodaway, sons Wade Haley of Villisca, Boyd Haley of Nodaway, eight grandchildren three great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Lloyd Haley, DeWitt Haley III, brothers Jimmy Haley, LaVern Haley and sister Patricia Paben.

LaDONNA J. FOCHT
LaDonna J. Focht, age 47, of Villisca, Iowa passed away Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. LaDonna
Jean Focht was born March 19, 1960 the daughter of Jerry and Shirlene (Brown) McKenzie. Her father passed away when LaDonna was very young. Her mother was then united in marriage to William “Bill” Crabtree who raised both LaDonna and her sister, Deb. LaDonna graduated from Red Oak Community High School in 1978 and attended Northwest Missouri State University for a short period of time before returning to Red Oak where she worked at Montgomery County National Bank. She was united in marriage to Mark Focht on March 21, 1981 in Red Oak. They lived in Morton’s Mill for 4 years before moving to their current home. LaDonna worked for the bank through several name changes and later was employed by Security State Bank now known as Great Western Bank. In September of 2006, she started working in the Montgomery County Recorder’s Office. She was a member of the Tabor Lutheran Church at Wallin where she was in the choir and was a member of WELCA. She also was a former member of the YMCA Board, Relay For Life Committee member, Booster Club member, Music Booster Club member, and enjoyed bowling for many years. Her greatest love was her family and watching her kids in all sporting events.
LaDonna was preceded in death by her father: Jerry McKenzie; her mother: Shirlene Crabtree; an infant brother; and several grandparents.
Survivors include her husband: Mark Focht of Villisca, Iowa; children: Andrew Focht and friend Karla Horihan of Villisca, Iowa; Aaron Focht, Ryan Focht, and Amanda Focht all of Villisca, Iowa; her Dad: William “Bill” Crabtree of Red Oak, Iowa; sister: Deb Liebig and husband Mike of Gretna, Nebraska; grandmother: Edith McKenzie of Red Oak, Iowa; Aunts: Anamary Gustin and husband Wayne of Red Oak, Iowa; and Doris Lockhart of Wyoming; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Marvin and Barbara Focht of Villisca, Iowa; two brothers-in-law: Jeff Focht and wife Nora of Omaha, Nebraska; and Rod Focht of Stanton, Iowa; sister-in-law: Sue Reynolds and husband Dennis of Griswold, Iowa; nieces and nephews: Lindsay, Shelby, and Cassady Sunderman all of Gretna, Nebraska; Grant, Greg, and Ally Focht all of Stanton, Iowa; Dakota Reynolds of Griswold, Iowa; and Bryan Leary and wife Andrea of Wylie, Texas; great niece and nephew: Karlee Leary and Riley Leary both of Wylie, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Stanton, Iowa with Rev. Dr. Eric Kutzli officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at the Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Stanton. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Fire and Rescue Department of your choosing in the area.
Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
