LUCIUS DALE EIGHME
Lucius Dale Eighme, 86, of Mount Ayr, Iowa, formerly of Tingley, Iowa, died July 28, 2001, at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.
Mr. Eighme, son of Lucius Franklin (Lute) Eighme and Clara Joyce (Teen) Elder Eighme was born January 28, 1915, in rural Tingley. He was graduated from the Tingley high school in 1934.
On May 16, 1941 he married Georgia Lee Lutz at Princeton, Missouri. Two daughters, twins Doris Elaine and Mary Lynn, were born to them.
L.D. was a farmer and a licensed jeweler. He stripped blue grass, seeded lawns and was involved in soil erosion control. He also had his own company, E & G Landscaping.
In 1956 L.D. and Georgia moved into Tingley. Lucius loved to hunt, trap, repair clocks and watches and be with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rex and Frank.
He is survived by his wife Georgia of Mount Ayr; his daughters, Mary Lynn (husband Dennis) Miller of Ankeny, Iowa and Doris (husband Roger) Herington of Tracy, Iowa; five grandchildren: Troy Miller, Lori Greene, Kevin Greene, John Herington and Nicole Abernathy; 14 great-grandchildren: Chris, Tosha and Teah Miller, Zach, Nick and Tori Greene, Dustin and Jeremy Richards, Nichol Vander Veer, T.J. Latcham, Alex Herington, Zach Stout, Jered and Jaydin Abernathy; and one great-great-grandchild Noa Vander Veer.
He is also survived by his sister Alice Marie Scott of Yankton, South Dakota, other devoted relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr with Reverend Eydie Stephens officiating. Ginny Eighmy was the organist. Casket bearers were Kenny Schaefer, Gary Petersohn, Joe Dukes, Mike Schaefer, Frank Pollock and Jerry McAlexander.
L.D. was laid to rest in the Tingley Cemetery, Tingley.
IRVING DOYLE TRULLINGER
Irving Doyle Trullinger, youngest son of Irving and Pearl (Brown) Trullinger, was born June 16, 1925, on a farm east of Watterson, Ringgold county, Iowa. He passed away in his sleep at his home in Mount Ayr, Iowa on July 25, 2001.
Doyle lived all his life in Ringgold county other than four months when he lived in Oregon. He received his education in the Ringgold county school system, graduating from Delphos high school in 1945.
Doyle and Roxie Jean Ward were married on June 17, 1946, at Atchison, Kansas. To this union four children were born: Linda, Stephen, Ellen and John.
Doyle was a farmer most of his life and had farmed near Delphos as a young man and had then owned farms south of Mount Ayr until he retired. He served as Ringgold county supervisor for eight years. He thoroughly enjoyed his family. His greatest pleasures in life were watching sporting events, plays or musical productions or anything kids or grandchildren were involved in and just being at family events. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making homemade ice cream and being with friends. He never knew a stranger.
Doyle was a member of First Christian Church of Mount Ayr where he had served as co-chair of the building committee and as a deacon until his health no longer allowed him to serve.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Harold and John; and sisters Izola Tull and Gladys Bonjour.
Doyle is survived by his wife Roxie and children Linda Konnath and husband Bill of Ankeny, Iowa, Stephen and wife Gail of Mount Ayr, Ellen Brand and husband David of Audubon, Iowa and John and wife Cindy of Shenandoah, Iowa; grandchildren, Julie Crawford and husband Chris of Rogers, Minnesota, Ted Zimmerly and wife April of Omaha, Nebraska, Karen Murphy and husband Ryan of Eudora, Kansas, Jennifer Brand of Overland Park, Kansas, Shelli and Scott Brand of Audubon, Jared Trullinger of Fort Worth, TX, Mark and Kevin Trullinger of Mount Ayr, Ashley and David Trullinger of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Constance and Joey Beltran of Shenandoah, Steve Konnath and wife Jane of Omaha, Nebraska, Scott Konnath and wife Anne of Honolulu, Hawaii, Judy Fisher and husband Dennis of Aberdeen, New Jersey and Joan Allison and husband Mike of Alexandria, Virginia.
Great-grandchildren are Dalton Crawford, Hailey, Erik, A.J. and Austin Konnath, Kevin and Jessica Fisher and Craig Allison. Doyle is also survived by his sister Mona Sovereign of Mount Ayr, brother Paul Trullinger of Redding, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 28, 2001, at the First Christian Church of Mount Ayr with Pastor John Brillo and Reverend Gwen Trullinger conducting the services. Musicians were Mary Trullinger, Margaret Bickers and Ginny Eighmy. Casket bearers were his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Elon (Shorty) Swanson, Bob Richardson, Bob Gardner, Gene Huntsman, Cal Hamann and Clarence Wilson.
Doyle was laid to rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.

WILLIAM LEWIS BRANT
William Lewis "Jake" Brant was born June 30, 1907, at Bennet, Nebraska to Charles and Julia Brant.
He grew up in Nebraska and married Louella May McHaffy. Jake traveled and worked in Nebraska, Texas, Oklahoma and California. He had lived in Ellston, Iowa for 13 years before moving to Tingley, Iowa eight years ago. Jake passed away on August 1, 2001 at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr, Iowa.
Jake loved his grandchildren and watching the birds and squirrels. He loved flowers and his puppy and cat. He liked John Wayne western movies. His travels took him from Nebraska, California and Texas and he saw many changes from horses and wagons, to cars and airplanes, to space travel and televisions and computers.
Jake was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Louella; a son, Bill; an infant daughter and an infant son; two sisters and one brother.
Left to mourn his passing are his children, Laura Osborn and husband John of Tingley, Pat Arnold and husband Duane of Raymond, Nebraska and Richard Brant and wife Eileen of Tingley; seven grandchildren, Amy Arnold, Kevin Arnold, Marilyn Spurling, Marla Gilbert, Marlene Osborn, Lawrence Osborn and Debbie Smith; eight great-grandchildren, Ronnie and Chris Gilbert, David Richman, Robyn and Trevor Osborn, Amy and Cassie Osborn and Les Smith.
Graveside services were held Saturday, August 4, 2001 at the Tingley Cemetery at Tingley, Iowa with Rev. Jeff Flagg officiating.
Casket bearers were Duane Arnold, David Richman, Ronnie Gilbert, Lawrence Osborn, Chris Gilbert and Chuck Gilbert.

BELVA MAY CORLL
Belva May Corll, daughter of Thomas and Lulu Sargent Craft, was born October 1, 1909 in Jasper county, Missouri and died August 12, 2001 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 91.
On August 29, 1936 she married Alva Corll. To this union one son was born, Marvin Lee.
Belva worked as a homemaker and lived most of her married life in Ringgold and Decatur counties in Iowa. At the time of her death she resided in Kellerton, Iowa, where she was surrounded by family, friends and neighbors. On May 28, 1946 Belva joined the Valentine Rebekah Lodge. In 1996 Belva received her 50-year pin, of which she took great pride.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son; brothers John, Tommy and Alpha Craft; and sister Electa Smith.
Belva is survived by her daughter-in-law Peggy Corll of Leon, Iowa; three grandchildren, Alisa Corll of Ankeny, Iowa, Teresa Anderson and husband Rick of Des Moines, Iowa and Brent Corll of Leon, Iowa; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Laurel and Elise Anderson of Des Moines, Iowa, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 15, 2001 at the Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, with Rev. Diana Holland officiating.
Musicians were Ginny Eighmy, Edna Jones and Kathy Rinehart. Casket bearers were Kenneth Michael, Rick Anderson, Sam Merrill, Mike Stark, Perry Woollums and Junior Reynolds.
Belva was laid to rest in the Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton, Iowa.
LLOYD "BUD" ROBINSON
Lloyd "Bud" Robinson passed away on August 12, 2001, at the age of 88 at the Edinburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Edinburg, Texas.
He was born on July 25, 1913, to Corinne and Blaine Robinson in Clearfield, Iowa. He married the former Loretta Hobbs on June 18, 1947.
Lloyd was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a Japanese POW for three and one-half years, receiving many medals during his nearly six years of service.
He retired in 1975 from CF & I Steel in Pueblo, Colorado.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife Loretta; a sister Pauline Cunningham and a brother Floyd Robinson, both of Tuscon, Arizona.
Military services will be held in Iowa at a later date.

LOIS JEAN LEEPER PETRATIS
Lois Jean Petratis was born November 23,1 946, at home south of Kellerton in Ringgold county, Iowa. She was the daughter of Francis Wallace and May Luella (Pearce) Leeper.
Lois Jean grew up on the farm and lived in Iowa before moving to Eureka Springs, Arkansas one year ago. She bought and sold antiques.
Lois Jean died August 21, 2001.
Lois Jean was preceded in death by a grandson Jeremiah Meseck; a sister Mary Jane Hayward; maternal grandparents, Charles and Elsie Pearce; and paternal grandparents, Bill and Liccie Leeper.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kim Krueger, Doug Albaugh, and Gary Albaugh, all of Boone, Iowa, Toni Meseck and husband Kevin of Ames, Iowa, Stephanie Sledge and her husband Randy of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Heather Albaugh of Adair, Iowa; her grandchildren, Vannessa Krueger, Jordan Shea, Tyler Sledge, Matt Crouse, Shealor Crouse, Jasmin Sledge, Tia Meseck, Cody Meseck, Dylan Cornelison, Emma Mae Cornelison; her parents, Francis and May Leeper of Kellerton, Iowa; her sister Kay Moore of Des Moines, Iowa; her brother Carl Leeper and wife Connie of Des Moines, Iowa; and her brother-in-law Melvin Hayward of Milo, Iowa.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 25, 2001, at Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr with Pastor Rick Hawkins officiating. Special music was "Holes in the Floor of Heaven" and "Wind Beneath My Wings." Casket bearers were Wayne Glieck, Kevin Meseck, Melvin Hayward, Matt Cornelison, Roger Hayward, Randy Sledge and Tyler Sledge.
Lois Jean was laid to rest in the Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton.
DEANNA SUE WARIN
Deanna Sue Warin, daughter of Clifford and Lorabel Taylor, was born on Valentines Day 1943 in Ringgold county, Iowa on the family farm near Diagonal.
She grew up near Diagonal, attending country school and graduating from Diagonal high school in 1961. She was a very good athlete, excelling in both basketball and softball.
On September 26, 1963, she married Michael G. Warin of Mount Ayr. The newlyweds established their home in Maloy, Iowa. To this union three sons were born: Michael Robert, Joseph Matthew, and James Francis.
Dee was a homemaker and a partner on the family farm. She enjoyed the farm and worked side-by-side with her family hauling grain, doing spring field work and anything dealing with the livestock. She especially enjoyed managing the poultry barns. Dee truly loved the farm and sharing that experience with others.
Dee's other interests included playing golf, refinishing antiques, reading and being with her family and her many, many friends. Spreading her contagious laughter to others was something that came easy for Dee.
Dee died on Saturday, August 25, 2001.
She was preceded in death by her infant son James; father Clifford Taylor; parents-in-law, Emmet and Pearl Warin; and brother-in-law William Warin.
Dee is survived by her husband Mike Warin of Maloy; sons, Mike (wife Michelle) Warin of Pella, Iowa and Joe (wife Donna) Warin of Clearfield, Iowa; grandchildren, Katelyn, Amanda, Lydia, and Megan; her mother Lorabel Taylor of Diagonal; four siblings: Janelle (husband Larry) Dalbey of Tucson, Arizona, Jack (wife Dixie) Taylor of Diagonal, Gary (wife Jean) Taylor of Springfield, Illinois, and Sharla (husband Owen) McCarron of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and a sister-in-law Ann Warin of Mesa, Arizona.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, August 28, 2001, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mount Ayr, with Reverends Thomas Dooley and Mark Reasoner officiating. Lectors were Michael Reasoner and Stephanie Butler. Providing music were Ginny Eighmy, Justin Akers, Jodie Wurster, Kathy Rinehart, and Judy Cunning.
Gift bearers for the Mass were Katelyn Warin, Amanda Warin, Donna Warin, and Michelle Warin. Casket bearers were Mike R. Warin, Joe Warin, Jim Taylor, Steve Taylor, Dr. Owen McCarron, and Joe Routh.
Dee was laid to rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
