TRAVIS ALAN CASE
Travis Alan Case was born October 18, 1974, at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr, Iowa to Charles Rolland and Sharon Marie Priest Case.
Travis was raised in the same home in northeast Tingley, Iowa with his parents, his brother, Darrel, and sister, Lywanda. He started school in the fall of 1979 at Mount Ayr Community and graduated with the class of 1993.
Travis loved to fish, hunt, spend time with family and friends. In June of 1986, he and Lywanda went to Wasilla, Alaska to spend the summer with his aunt Marcia and uncle Barry Wharam, whom he loved and adored very much. As a child, he loved to draw, especially pictures of semi trucks down to the very detail; he liked to work on motors, taking them apart and putting them back together, making them run again.
Travis always had big dreams of fame and fortune. He left home in November 1993 to become a carpenter which he became very good at.
In 1996, he met Tammy Sue Hand and they were married on February 23, 1997, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They returned to Council Bluffs, Iowa and in September 2001 they moved to rural Mount Ayr where they were a very happy oriented family and enjoyed the country life with farm animals, deer and other wildlife.
Upon the marriage to Tammy, he became the daddy of her daughter, Dacia Reena, and on August 12, 1997 they became parents of Zachary Vaughn Case. Travis was a good and proud father of Dacia and Zach. He spent many hours playing and teaching them. Travis attended an assembly at the school last fall when a rock band performed. He and Dacia were proud to say he was asked as a parent to perform with them; afterwards Travis told Sharon, "Hey mom, I was a rock star!"
Travis passed away on February 8, 2002.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Vern Priest; stepgrand-father, Wayne Warnke; and his aunt, Marcia Wharam.
Travis is survived by his wife, Tammy, and children, Dacia and Zachary, all of Mount Ayr; parents, Charles and Sharon Case of Tingley; brother, Darrel, and wife Tami and nephew Joshua, and sister, Lywanda Case, all of Mount Ayr; parents-in-law, Margaret and Terry Baker; sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Ivan Schupp and four nieces, all of Council Bluffs ; grandparents, Vaughn and Betty Case of Ellston, Iowa and Marjorie Warnke of Mount Ayr; grandfather-in-law, Harold Pitt and grandmother-in-law, Arlene Hand, all of Council Bluffs; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 11, 2002 at the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr with Reverend John Brillo officiating. Musicians were Ginny Eighmy, Mary Trullinger and Margaret Bickers. Casketbearers were Matt Swank, Jeff McAlexander, Josh Shields, Bob Clymer, Paul Maudlin and Tim Dooley. Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Leytham, Travis Snethen, Russell Stewart , Andy Dugan and Joe Spring.
Travis was laid to rest in the Tingley Cemetery, Tingley.

LAURA ANN COBB
Laura Ann Compton Renslow Cobb was born September 24, 1918, at Guthrie Center, Iowa. She was the third child of eight children born to Amos Winford and Gertrude Etna Haxton Compton.
She graduated from Guthrie Center high school in 1936. That same year, she married Vern Renslow. They adopted Larry Glen Renslow at about age four and he became a favorite part of the family. Vern passed away in 1977.
In 1983, she married Charles M. Cobb and maintained a home with him at Blockton, Iowa.
She was a faithful member of the Tent Chapel Church of Christ at Blockton. She loved her family and the beauty of nature.
Laura Ann passed away on February 7, 2002 at the age of 83 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Vern; and two brothers, Perry and Stephen Compton.
Surviving are her husband, Charles M. Cobb of Blockton; one son, Larry Glenn Renslow and wife Carole of Menlo, Iowa; four stepchildren, Roberta Ann Milinsky of Urbandale, Iowa, Anita Patterson of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Galen Lee Cobb and wife Kathy of Sugarland, Texas and Marla Fetters and husband David of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; five grandsons, six stepgrand-children, several great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild; two brothers, Fred and wife Neva and Rodolph and wife Cleo, all of Guthrie Center; three sisters, Viola Richards and husband George of Guthrie Center, Joan Lydon of Greenfield, Iowa and Marion Smith of Yale, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Dean Cobb and wife Marietta of Blockton; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Saturday, February 9, 2002 at Union Cemetery, Victory township, Guthrie county, Iowa with Chris Westphal officiating. Casketbearers were David Renslow, Steven Renslow, Larry Renslow, Jr., Clifford Renslow, Timothy Renslow and Michael Renslow.

CLEORA KATHLYNN FOLTZ COHRON
Our Lord and Savior called Cleora Kathlynn Foltz Cohron of Long Beach, California to her everlasting home on November 23, 2001. She passed away gently at 4:30 a.m. at her condominium in her daughter's arms.
She was born April 28, 1915, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, the daughter of David Lloyd Foltz and Mona Scott Foltz, who both preceded her in death. On December 26, 1936, in Creston, Iowa, Cleora married Frank White Cohron of Bowling Green, Kentucky, who preceded her in death in 1958.
She is assumed preceded in death by her oldest son, James D. "Jim" Cohron, a U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret, who has been missing in action in Viet Nam since January 1968. The unknown fate of her oldest child was first and foremost on her mind and in her heart for 32 years 10 months 11 days.
She is also preceded in death by her beloved son-in-law of 32 years, Damon Fudge; two sisters, Cloydene Foltz and Floretta Johnston; one brother, David Foltz; and one nephew, William "Billie Lee" Johnston.
She is survived by two children, Debra Kathlynn Cohron Fudge of Columbia, Kentucky and Jon Patric Cohron of Long Beach, California; Jim's two children, Stephen Cohron and Kelly Cohron Jones in California; one sister, Kathryn Miller in Iowa; her sister-in-law, Rachel Foltz in California; and these nephews and nieces: Cherri Foltz Love and husband David in Utah, Paul Foltz and wife Janet and Annette Foltz Burstein and husband Mike in California, Donna Barker Johnston (Billie Lee's widow) in New Mexico, Andy Johnston and wife Joyce in Texas, Dianne Johnston Hill and husband Jack and Suzi Johnston Weaver and husband Tooter in Arizona, Mike Miller in Wisconsin and Joe Miller and Greg Miller in Iowa. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
Cleora resided in Centerville, Iowa from 1940 to 1963, where her husband and she owned the F.W. Cohron Construction Company that was based in Centerville from 1940 until her husband's death in 1958. While residing in Centerville, she was a member of the Methodist Church, PTA, Mother's Club, Band Mothers and a Boy Scout leader and a Girl Scout leader.
She resided in Long Beach, California from 1969 until passing to her everlasting home. She retired from federal government Civil Service in 1977. Cleora was the president of the Anchor Arms Condominium Association for 32 years and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Long Beach.
During her retirement years, Cleora volunteered untold thousands of hours at the Long Beach Senior Center and was honored by that organization as the "Senior Volunteer of 1994." In addition, during each of her 24 years of retirement, she hand crafted 300 items and contributed them to the Long Beach Crippled Children's League for their annual fund-raising bazaar.
Cremation arrangements were handled by McKenzie Cremation of Long Beach. Her ashes will be scattered some in Long Beach, California, some at her son-in-law's and daughter's rural property in Adair county, Columbia, Kentucky, where Cleora spent 20 years of annual vacations lasting from two weeks to six months, and some in Centerville, Iowa at Oakland Cemetery where her husband is buried and their grave monument is located.
A memorial service will be conducted when her ashes are scattered in Kentucky.
JAMES W. HOFFMAN
Jim was born July 15, 1920, to W. R. and Elva (Whisler) Hoffman and passed away February 5, 2002, at the Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Corning, Iowa.
Services were held February 8, 2002, at the United Methodist Church with the Reverend Andy Rubenking officiating.
Jim graduated from Kellerton high school in 1937 and began working as a butcher for Hy-Vee Food Stores, then known as the Supply Store.
He moved to Corning in 1940 and in 1941 he married Marchetta Deer. Susan Kay was born to that union.
In 1949 he married Mary (Coffman) Myer and to this union James William was born. Along with Mary's two sons, Dennis and Gary, they became a family.
He began working in 1953 for the Okey-Vernon First National Bank in the insurance department. He was the bank president when he retired in 1992.
Jim was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy in Guam. He was a member of the Mason Lodge, American Legion for more than 50 years, United Methodist Church and the Corning Rotary Club. He was instrumental in the development of the Industrial Pork and Community Center.
After his retirement from the bank, he and Mary fulfilled their dream of the farm and raising registered Angus cattle.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of 53 years; daughter Susan (husband Gary) McFarland of Cedar Point, Utah; Dennis D. Myer (wife Shirley) of Corydon, Iowa and Bill (wife Sue) of Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Hoffman and Gene (wife Marjorie) Hoffman, both of Kellerton; and nephew Jim (wife Pat) of Lamoni, Iowa.
Interment was at the Prairie Rose Cemetery just south and west of his home.
KENNETH I. KIBURZ
Kenneth I. Kiburz, age 71, of Tingley, Iowa, died Sunday, February 10, 2002 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
He was born July 27, 1930, in Tingley, the son of Isaac and Gladys Boller Kiburz. He graduated from Tingley high school and then received a B. A. from Iowa State University in agriculture.
On April 15, 1995 he married Gloria Jermier in Farmington, Missouri.
He owned and operated the Kiburz Seed Company in Afton, Iowa for over 30 years. He also continued owning various businesses as well as farming in Union county on the Double K Ranch. He taught vocational agriculture in Rolfe and Newell, Iowa.
He attended the Afton Assembly of God Church for over 30 years and was a member of the Southern Iowa Angus Association.
He served in the U.S. Navy for three years during the Korean Conflict from August 24, 1952 until March 21, 1954.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Kiburz of Tingley; four daughters, Sheryl (husband Dave) DeLoach of Fenton, Missouri, Kathy (husband John) Grettenberg of Coon Rapids, Iowa, Anita Williams of Grand Rapids, Minnesota and Kolleen (husband Darren) Kiburz-Lovell of Fort Worth, Texas; four sons, Kim (wife Debra) Kiburz of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Kurt (wife Amy) Kiburz of Afton, Iowa, Kent (wife Melissa) Kiburz of Winterset, Iowa and Kevin Kiburz of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother, John (wife Barbara) Kiburz of Tingley; and 17 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at Afton Assembly of God Church with Pastor William Richardson officiating.
Military rites were conducted by the John B. Parks V.F.W. Post #8882 of Afton. Interment was in the Tingley Cemetery, Tingley.
Memorials may be given to the Afton Assembly of God Church.

KIARRA MAE RICHMAN
Kiarra Mae Richman, infant daughter of Jessica Harrington and James Richman, died February 8, 2002, as a premature infant at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
She is survived by her mother, Jessica Harrington of Des Moines; father, James Richman of Kellerton, Iowa; grandmother, Deanette Harrington of Afton, Iowa; and grandparents, Dave and Pauline Richman of Creston, Iowa.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at Assembly of God Church in Afton. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ruth Harbor 532, 42nd Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50312.

OLLIE EDITH ROBERTSON SMITH
Ollie Edith Robertson was born November 3, 1908, to James Allen and Betsy Cox Robertson in Gentry county, Missouri, the oldest of eight children. She departed this life February 3, 2002, and now resides with our heavenly father in perfect health, along with her beloved husband Claude and eldest son Cleo.
Remaining behind celebrating her life are nine children, 26 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Grant City Assembly of God Church.
Married January 3, 1927, Claude and Edith lived in Denver, Darlington, Grant City and The Nation, Missouri, raising 10 children along the way. Cleo, the oldest, died at the age of 14.
Redding, Iowa, became their permanent residence in 1963 with Edith remaining in Kansas City working as a salad dietician at the St. Joseph and Research Hospitals. She remembered once preparing a meal for Harry S Truman while he was a patient there.
In 1968, Edith joined Claude in Redding and opened this home to their beloved grandchildren who always loved to visit … sometimes for days and weeks at a time. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1976 and Claude was taken to the Lord after a long bout with lung cancer that same year.
In 1980, Edith married her good friend Eddie Smith and continued to live in Redding. They moved to Grant City and then to Clearview Nursing Home, Mount Ayr in 1989 where Eddie died a few years later at the age of 91.
Edith enjoyed her life at Clearview Nursing Home and made many good friends during her 11 years there. Her eldest daughter Mary Catherine was faithful in her visits spending each holiday with her, but all her children were very devoted to her.
Edith developed diabetes around 1980 but was able to live a healthy life despite the illness. She suffered a stroke December 23, 2001, and journeyed to heaven 41 days later.
Missing her deeply, yet joyful her journey is complete, are her children: James W. Robertson and wife Betty of Redding, Mary Daniels of Allendale, Missouri, Don and Annie Robertson of Kansas City, Missouri, Gladys Jones of Redding, Rex Robertson and wife Freda of Kansas City, Kansas, Helen Harris and husband Bill of Allendale, Inez Overbeck and husband Larry of Mount Grove, Missouri, Max Robertson and wife Linda of Grandview, Missouri and George Robertson and wife Sandy of Kansas City, Missouri.
Preceding her in death were brothers, Melvin and Clarence Robertson; sisters, Delores Carlson, Margaret Shirley and Goldie Robertson; and sons-in-law, Jubal Daniels and Wesley Jones. Surviving are a sister, Viola Holcomb of Torrington, Wyoming; and a brother, Norwood Robertson.
Helen writes “Mom was strict on getting the family together. She loved cooking for them. Outside of loving the Lord, her family was her joy.
“When we were young, Mama kept us all in Sunday school and church. We had to walk about three miles to catch a ride with the neighbors. We would walk back late at night after churchSunday night, Wednesday night and any other night there was church. Mama was My Mother, My Mentor, My Friend. I Love You, Dearest Mama.”
And Gladys wants you to know, “The Angel has a beautiful face.”
Services were held Wednesday, February 6, 2002, at Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri, with intermenty at Miller Cemetery in Denver, Missouri, at Claude’s side. Casket bearers were her sons, J.W., Don, Rex, Max, George and son-in-law Bill Harris.
