ROWLEY -- Beryle J. "Pete" Hopkins, 93, of Rowley, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at West Village Care Center, Independence, after a lengthy illness; survivors include his wife, Cora; five sons, Floyd of Waterloo, Charles of Indianapolis, Cyrus of Brandon, Delbert of Los Alimotos, Calif., and William of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Louise Yoder of Rowley and Susan Bacon of Cumming; and 31 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Louise in 1974; a son, Bruce; a grandson; six brothers; and a sister; services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Presbyterian Church, Rowley, with burial in Rowley Cemetery; friends may call after 3 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Independence; Mr. Hopkins retired from farming in 1971.
