RICEVILLE -- Cora Lenth, 90, of Riceville, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at Riceville Community Rest Home of natural causes; survivors include two grandchildren whom they raised, Patrick Lee Malone of Cedar Falls and Pamela Rae Hamilton of Grenada, Miss.; and two great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, in August 1992; a daughter, Virginia; a grandson; two brothers; and two sisters; services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Riceville United Methodist Church, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Riceville; friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Lindstrom Funeral Home, Riceville, and for an hour before services Sunday at the church; Ms. Lenth and her husband farmed and she had served as president of United Methodist Women for many years.
SUMNER -- Wayne Alfred Ridge, 82, of Sumner, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at Hillcrest Home, Sumner, after a lengthy illness; survivors include his wife, Virginia; a son, James of West Des Moines; and a grandson; he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd, Gene and an infant; services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, Sumner, with burial in the church cemetery; friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Sumner, and for an hour before services Friday at the church; Mr. Ridge was employed for a number of years as a shoemaker for William F. Hoth; he then worked as a salesman for Otis Leather Co., Cedar Rapids, and in 1956 purchased a store he named The Bootery, retiring in 1978.
DECORAH -- Kathryn E. HAMPTON -- Robert W.
