Charles Caligiuri
Des Moines
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday June 14, 2006 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary service June 13, at Tonini Chapel for Charles Caligiuri who passed away June 10, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center.
Charles was born in Des Moines and was a member of St. Anthony Parish, American Legion Bellizzi Mac Rae Post, and a Korean War veteran.
Charles will be missed by his Son Lanny (Debbie) Caliguri; two grandchildren, Lori and Chris; brother Tony; sister, Joanne; several nieces and nephews; a brother in-law, Larry Caldwell of Des Moines; and a sister in-law, Dolores of Knoxville, Iowa. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Loraine in 2004.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Bonnie Keairnes
Bonnie Kathleen Keairnes passed from this life November 5, 2004. Bonnie was born on July 10, 1951 in Columbus, Nebraska to Dayle and Dolores Kallweit of Platte Center, Nebraska. Bonnie attended District 28 Elementary School in Platte Center, Nebraska, and graduated from Columbus High School in 1969. She attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska.
Bonnie married Mark Keairnes on August 18, 1976, and they enjoyed a marriage of 28 years. Bonnie and Mark have three children, Erik Keairnes, attending Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa; Drew Keairnes, attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Lincoln, Nebraksa; and Ryan Keairnes, a Junior at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Bonnie worked for TWA Airlines for 24 years, first in St. Louis, Missouri, then later in Omaha, Nebraska and Des Moines. Bonnie loved her family and especially enjoyed attending her sons' sports activities. Other things that brought her great joy were gardening, music, traveling and volunteering at Lutheran Church of Hope, where she was a member for ten years.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Mark Keairnes; her sons, Erick, Drew and Ryan Keairnes; her mother, Dolores Kallweit of Platte Center, Nebraska; three sisters, Cynthia Hopp of Omaha, Nebraska, Carol Lackey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Janice Flemming of Castle Rock, Colorado; and three brothers, Steven Kallweit of Columbus, Nebraska, Keith Kallweit of Sausilito, California, and David Kallweit of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her father, Dayle H. Kallweit of Platte Center, Nebraska.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday, November 7 at Lutheran Church of Hope Chapel, 925 74th Street, West Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 8 at the church. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of Hope or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Geneice N. Neilsen
Des Moines
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday at Lutheran Church of Hope for Geneice Neilsen who died at home Saturday after a long battle with cancer.
Geneice was born in Webster City and spent much of her life in the Des Moines area.
She loved her family and enjoyed being close to her grandchildren. She retired from Von Maur in 2002.
Geneice will be missed by her son; Todd (Trina) of WDM, a daughter; Jennifer (Rich Gooden) Floden of Mitchellville, 6 grandchildren; Carter, Tanner, Jaylee, Cassie, Jacob and Morgan, a brother; Richard Janson of Webster City and a sister; Kathlyn (Jack) Rider of Green Valley, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her sister; Irene Braden.
Visitation will be held 4 to 7 P.M. Monday at Brooks Funeral Care University Chapel.
Memorial contributions suggested to Hospice of Central Iowa.

Bill Standera
West Des Moines
Bill Standera, 81, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2006. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines. Interment will be at a later date.
Bill was born in Poland, but spent the last 40 years in the West Des Moines area. He retired from Mitchell Transmission, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and enjoyed fishing.
He will be missed by his wife of 57 years, Vicky; his two sons, Peter Standera of West Des Moines and Tony (Dawn) Standera of Bemidji, MN; grandson, Eric Standera and brother, Joseph Standera of the Ukraine.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Andy Standera.
Family will greet friends following the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the church.

Allen Runner
West Des Moines
Allen J. Runner's funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 27 at Valley Community Church.
Allen was born in England and moved to West Des Moines in 1947. He graduated from North High School, and was the first person to letter in three varsity sports as a sophomore. He held the Iowa State Power lifting title for one year.
Allen was retired from Iowa Power after working there for 25 years. He was an officer in American Legion and enjoyed hunting, fishing and weightlifting meets. Allen was a member of Valley Community Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Allison Wegner and his son, Matt Runner; his three grandchildren, Anthony, Nichole, Tammy; his great-grandchild, Alex; and one sister.

Ardith Snook
West Des Moines
Ardith Marie Teagarden Snook died November 17, 2004 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa. At her request, her body has been donated to Des Moines University and a memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Ardith was born in Boone County, Iowa and lived in Ames and West Des Moines for the last 18 years. She was a homemaker and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Third Order of St. Francis. She enjoyed needlework, crocheting, sewing and reading.
She will be missed by her seven children, Joann Faber of Johnston, Tim (Mary Jane), James (Barb) of Florida, Dennis (Pauline) of Washington, Bill (Kim) of Dubuque, Arlene (Jim) Holmes of South Dakota and Kay (Dennis) Modde of Des Moines; grandchildren 14; great-grandchildren nine, plus two anticipated; and sisters, Dorothy Gee of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Anita Blanshan of Yakima, WA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Burke Snook; parents, Arthur and Agnes Teagarden; sister, Wilma Baldridge; and twin sister, Arlena.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Catherine of Sienna Student Center at Drake University, 1150 28th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50311.

Audrey Monroe
Des Moines
Audrey Monroe, 95 passed away November 12, 2004 at her daughter and son in laws home in rural Runnells. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Wednesday at Glen Echo Christian Church with visitation one hour prior to service time.
Private intermenty of the cremains will be held at a later date at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry.
Audrey was born near Exline, Iowa in 1909. She was a registered nurse for 31 years working mostly in Perry and then in Des Moines. She was a long standing member of Glen Echo Christian Church. She enjoyed playing in the Stone Crest Kitchen Band, making birthday cards to give to friends and listening to her beloved Cubs baseball games.
She is survived by her daughter Mary and son in law Bob Robinson, grandson Troy Robinson and great grandsons; Zachary and Trever Robinson. She was preceded in death by her husband Kendall Monroe and two sisters and two brothers.
Memorials may be made to her church.

Nicholas R. Webb
Des Moines
Nicholas Ryan Webb, 26, died peacefully at his home on Saturday August 26, 2006. His memorial mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2006 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Student Center at 1150-28th Street in Des Moines, Iowa.
Nicholas was born September 16th, 1979 to Joan and Mark Webb. He attended grade school at St. Theresa's until he moved to Denver, Colorado in 1990. He graduated from the Denver Waldorf School in 1998. He attended the Anglo American College of Dublin, Anglo American College in Prague in the Czech Republic as well as Charles University in Prague. He received a certificate in the Serbian language from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. He had a life long love of learning and was a voracious reader. He was a philosopher and historian. He had owned a pub, Un Chien Andalou, Prague, Czech Republic. It was his proudest accomplishment.
In Colorado Nicholas was a passionate mountain biker and comedic actor.
He had just returned to the United States in February to be with his mother in Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his two great-grandmothers, two grandmothers and a grandfather who's world revolved around him. He is survived by his mother, Joan Hanlon, his grandfather, Gorman Webb, two aunts, Sherry Webb and Barbara Hanlon of Des Moines, many cousins, and a world full of friends who were touched by his charm. He could entertain a room full of people with his world theories and stories of his adventures. His dimple and twinkling eyes will forever be remembered.

W. Woodrow Saltzman
W. Woodrow (Woody) Saltzman, 90, died in the early morning of May 4, 2004. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6 at the First Christian Church in West Des Moines.
Woody was born in Ringgold County, Iowa in 1913 and married Carmen S. Cochran of Grosbeck, Texas. Woody is survived by his wife of 68 years; son, William; daughter, Ginger; six grandchildren Mark, Sandra, David, Michael, Katherine, and Nicholas; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church in West Des Moines.

William J. Jaksich
Bill Jaksich, 51, was born in Omaha, NE on June 18, 1952 and died Thursday, May 6, 2004. Visitation will be Monday, May 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. at West Des Moines Christian Church, 4501 George Mills Parkway, West Des Moines, IA. A "Celebration of Life" service will be Tuesday, May 11 at 10 a.m., also at the church.
Bill received a BA Degree in math from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduating in 1974. He worked 30 years for The Principal Financial Group. He was Senior Actuary-Financial; member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
Bill began skydiving in 1977 and has made over 5,800 jumps. He is a member of Central Iowa Skydivers Club and US Parachute Association; Certified Static Line and Tandem Instructor; Appointed Safety and Training Advisor; holds Pro-Exhibition Rating; competed in Style and Accuracy at the national level since 1987; 3-time medallist at US Nationals in Team Accuracy in 1995, 1998 and 2001; Medallist in US Nationals in Sport Accuracy, 2001. He received the Legion of Valor award Bronze Cross for achievement, ROTC. Bill is a supporter of the Nebraska Alumni Association.
He is survived by his best friend and wife of nearly 25 years, Vickie Jaksich; parents, Dorothy and William Jaksich of Omaha, NE; siblings, Susan Bizzarri (Tom) of Omaha, NE, Tom Jaksich of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Mark Jaksich (Alice) of Omaha, NE, Dan Jaksich (Jayne) of Papillion, NE, Geri Jaksich of Longwood, FL and Barbara Wolford (John) of Omaha, NE; and their families. Also, special friends; in-laws, Betty and Dean Nath of Grimes, Cindy and Al Phillips of West Des Moines and Karen and Larry King of Grimes; and his many nieces, nephews, coworkers, friends and cat, Duke, will miss him deeply.
Memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa Inc., 5452 NE 22 St., Ankeny, IA, 50021.

William Eakins
William S. Eakins, 73, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at InTrust Taylor House. No services are planned. Family will receive friends at his home on Saturday, September 18, 2004.
William was a Mason of 53 years belonging to Daylight Lodge. He resided in West Des Moines for 45 years and retired from Drake's Garage in 1994. He worked for eight years at All Star Vending Company and for 1 1/2 years as a bus driver for West Des Moines Schools.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice; three sons, Wm. S. Jr., Jerry (Debi) and James (Tammy); four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chet and Juanita Eakins; brother, Bob Eakins; and sister, Mary Lou Malloy.
Memorial contributions may be made to his family.

Albert Gladson
Springfield, MO
Albert D. Gladson, 69, formerly of Des Moines, passed away November 5, 2004 in Springfield, MO. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lutheran Church of Hope. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home University Chapel.

Wendall A. Maine
Dec. 3, 1923 - Sept. 18, 2004
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Brooks Funeral Care University Chapel. Wendall was a US Army Veteran and a retired from the Postal Service.
He will be missed by his wife of 14 years, Mary Lou; daughters, Janice Moretti and Delores Russo; sons, David and Steven P. Maine; stepsons, Rick Mundell and Timothy Vasquez; three grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; sister, Delores Grant; and brother, Charles Maine. Friends may call beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday.
