Jan Humiston was born December 11, 1927 in Davenport to Gilman and Almeda (McKee) Larson. She was married to Lyle Humiston from 1951-1977. She was employed at Colonial Dental Studio for 19 years where she retired as office manager. She enjoyed her card club, "Coffee Talk," family gatherings and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include a daughter, Lori Humiston of Davenport; sons, Jeff (Gretchen) Humiston of Marion, Iowa and Jay (Lisa) Humiston of Fairfield, California; grandchildren, Kate (Tony) Oleson, Ben Humiston, and Mike Paris; and many other friends and neighbors that knew "Grandma Jan." She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lorelie.

Mrs. Hamilton was born December 8, 1910 in Frankfort, Missouri to James Murray and Rebecca May (Roberts) Epperson. She married Rev. Oscar Hamilton October 13, 1929 in Hannibal, Missouri.
Survivors include her daughters Patricia McMorran of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Beverly (Gary) Parmenter, Grinnell, and Connie (Ralph) Long, Phillipsburg, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; and one sister. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Donald, an infant daughter at birth, 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Florence K. Mark, 94, of Davenport, Iowa, died Sunday, October 23, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport. Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 A.M. Mrs. Mark was born March 17, 1911 in Muscatine, Iowa to William M. and Barbara (Moser) Nyenhuis. She married Rev. Burton Mark October 16, 1932 in Hammond, Indiana. He died February 1, 1998. She served in many churches with her husband who was a Baptist pastor, fulfilling her life's goal of serving God and helping others. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Davenport, where she was a Sunday school teacher; Ladies Auxiliary Northern Baptist Seminary, where she attended; the American Baptist Ministries, and the Davenport Women's Club.
Survivors include a nephew, Robert Tyler of Port Orange, Florida; and cousins, Evelyn Dorothy of Davenport, and Jerry Jungman, of Stuart, Iowa. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie, and a brother, Melvin.

Shirlee A. Smith, 76, of Bokeelia, Florida, died Monday, October 24, 2005 at Southeast Georgia Regional Health System, Brunswick, Georgia. Celebration of Life Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 29th at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. The family will greet visitors from 12:30 P.M. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a Hospice organization of the family's choice.
Shirlee was born April 18, 1929 in Montoursville, Pennsylvania to Clifford and Sarah (Bowman) Tweedy. She married Gene A. Smith December 18, 1948 in Decatur, Michigan. In 1949 they moved to Davenport to open a family owned business, the "Lighthouse Market", later to be known as "Mr. Home Grown". She was a homemaker who loved nature, including animals, flowers and the life she shared with her family on the lake and ocean. She attended the United Methodist Church of Pine Island in Florida.
Survivors include her husband, Gene; daughters, Vicki Coppinger and Debra Van Hoosier, both of Davenport, Iowa; son, Scott (Sandi) Smith of Geneseo, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Tweedy.

Ms. Davis was born September 8, 1954 in Quincy, Illinois to Julius and Betty (Rose) Davis. She was a cook at the Machine Shed, Davenport, and a former member of the Third Missionary Baptist Church, Davenport. She loved to knit and sew.
Survivors include siblings, Judith Perry of Tampa, Florida, Denise Henderson, Stephen Davis and Cecil Pettigrew, all of Davenport.

Mr. Brunning was born July 24, 1939 in Davenport, Iowa to Leroy and Mary G. (Beard) Brunning. He married Mary Eickstaedt May 21, 1966 in Kahoka, Missouri. He began working at Pepsi Cola and later at Red Jacket. He began working August 1, 1960 as an electrician with Ralston Purina, Davenport and retiring February 1, 1999. Among his interests were his family and friends, gardening, and driving his 1939 Ford-O-Let.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughters, Barb (Tony) White, Carole Johnson, Beth Brahmstadt (and fiancé Dave Carter), Stacy Brunning (and fiancé Eric Kelly), and Sally Plies; sons, Donald (Lisa) Brunning, Troy (Rhonda) Brunning, and Don (Robin) Enoch, all of the Quad-Cities, and Darrell (Peige) Enoch of Texas; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Brunning, and his parents.

Mr. Veasey was born March 11, 1922 in Sunflower County, Mississippi to Alex and Queen Victoria (Scott) Veasey. He married Sarah B. Angel January 9, 1949 in West Helena, Arkansas. She died December 25, 1999. He attended school in Cohoma County, Mississippi. He was employed at Moline Auto Sales as a car detailer for many years, and later was employed at Moline Forge, where he retired in 1989. He attended the Pentecostal Church of God where he was baptized and later accepted the Lord into his life. He also enjoyed playing poker with his friends and listening to music with his wife, Sarah.
Survivors include sons, James (Ruby) Veasey of Rock Island, Willie A. Veasey of Cedar Rapids, Victor Veasey of Davenport, Fred (Anita) Veasey of Davenport, and Cornell (Theresa) Veasey of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Gloria Veasey-Jones of Davenport, Brenda Mayes-Veasey of Clinton Township, Michigan, Delphine Veasey-Small of Cedar Rapids, Christina Veasey of Rock Island, and Camille Veasey of Miami, Florida; 30 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Alex Veasey, Jr. of Chicago, and Clayton Veasey of Rock Island; and sisters, Marie Veasey Stewart of Jonestown, Mississippi. Mrs. Arner was born April 22, 1926 in Powersville, Missouri to Earl and Carrie Lee (Kelly) Bates. She married Clarence Lee Arner October 8, 1949 in Davenport. He died June 27, 1988.
Norma was formerly employed in tool manufacturing. She was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Davenport, and volunteered as a secretary at the church as well as for the Iowa Department of Human Services. She was a very giving person, always helping others.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Arner of Bettendorf; her three sons, Gary Arner of Iowa City, and Earl Dean Arner and Dennis Arner, both of Bettendorf; and her four grandchildren, Justin, Nathan, Erika, and Lauren Arner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence.

Mr. Long was born September 14, 1920 in Davenport, Iowa to John L. and Celestine A. (Rattinger) Long. He served with the U.S. Army during WW II, with the Persian Gulf Command. He married Dorothy I. Doss June 14, 1941 in Davenport. Mr. Long worked as an engineer with DRI & NW Railroad 39 1/2 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, the American Legion Post #26, Davenport, United Transportation Union, and had served as a Boy Scout Leader. He also enjoyed fishing, photography, woodworking, reading and working in his yard. Jim was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Bonnie Swanson of Davenport, and Judy (Thomas) Mossage of Park View, Iowa; son, James L. The Reverend Canon Harry Ellsworth Wickham, 89, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 10, 2006 in Yorba Linda, California. Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 16, at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 121 West 12th Street, Davenport. Visitation will be held 1:00 P.M.- 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Private family inurnment will be held in the Trinity Cathedral Columbarium. Memorials may be made to Trinity Cathedral Memorial Fund for Father Harry.
Rev. Wickham was born January 22, 1916 in Charlotte, South Carolina to Harry Ellsworth Wickham II and Louise (Jones) Wickham. He married Ruth Ann Stender February 17, 1939 in Davenport, Iowa. He served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary for many years.
In 1933 he moved to Davenport, where he was advertising manager for Petersen Harned Von Maur, Parkers and McCabe's department stores. In 1978 he completed his Bachelor's degree in special studies at St. Ambrose College and then attended Nashotah House in Wisconsin. He was ordained in 1980. Rev. Wickham served at Trinity Cathedral, where he had been a member since in 1959, and from where he retired in 1995. He was active in the Order of St. Luke. In July of 2004 he and his wife moved to Yorba Linda, California
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Ann; children, Ronald Ellsworth Wickham of Amelia Island, Florida, Sharon Ann Erbst of Glen Ivy, California, and Lcdr Barbara Lynn Huff of San Diego, California; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Stephenson of Jacksonville, Florida.

Mr. Lagrone was born March 13, 1937 in Columbus, Mississippi to Andrew and Mary (West) Lagrone. He married Sandy Eutsler March 8, 1976 in Rock Island. He was a grinder with Black Hawk Foundry, Davenport and also with Frank Foundry, Davenport until they relocated. He attended New Life Church of God in Christ, Davenport, and enjoyed gardening and family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy; daughters, Hattie and Rheta of Davenport; sons, Nolan of Davenport, Fred and Steven, both of Rock Island, and Taureen of Davenport; a host of grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Argustia Lacy of Davenport; and three aunts and two uncles, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by five sisters, five brothers, and a grandson, Jeffery.

Mrs. Henzen was born July 16, 1924 in Columbus Junction, Iowa to Alpheus and Ethel (Pine) Schabilion. She married Marion Henzen February 6, 1948 in Davenport. He died July 28, 1994. She was the floor manager of J.C. Penney, Davenport, for 15 years and a member of the Moose Lodge, Davenport. Among her interests, she enjoyed quilting, needle work, crafts, reading, doing crossword puzzles, her flower garden, and walking her dog, "Cricket."
Survivors include sons, Robert Henzen of Bettendorf, and Ronald (Lynette) Henzen of Davenport; grandchildren, Chad Henzen, Derek (Christina) Henzen, Angela Henzen (and fiancé Dustin Eimers); and great-grandson, Alexander Henzen. She was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.

Roberta was born February 10, 1929 in Bloomfield, Iowa to Dale Z. and Gladys C. (Nellis) Goode. She married Paul Ray Mass on September 1, 1950 in Evanston, Illinois. He passed away December 13, 1988. She was assistant credit manager for Eagle Signal for 18 years. Among her interests was interior decorating. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed dearly and remembered with love.

Mr. Hollister was born August 2, 1914 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Frederick and Edith (Siltberg) Hollister. He married Bernice Williams September 11, 1938 in Des Moines. She died January 11, 2001. He owned and operated Ken's Frame and Alignment, Davenport, retiring in 1976.
Survivors include daughters, Jean Haskins of Hobe Sound, Florida, Kay (Jim) Legros of Jupiter, Florida, and Linda Doman of Davenport; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy O'Brian of Ft. Dodge, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Jessie Johnson.

He retired from the Rock Island Arsenal as a sewing machine operator after 35 years.
Mr. Harrington enjoyed gardening and landscaping, fishing and hunting and was an assistant coach for the West Davenport Boxing Team. He had a great love for, and dedication to, his family.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Ora Harrington, Davenport; his children, James Harrington of Louisville, Mississippi, Theresa Johnson and Tyrone Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri, Michael Harrington of Baltimore, Maryland, Maxine Anderson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Troy and Charles Harrington of Davenport, Iowa, Todd Harrington of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Brenda Keeton of Omaha, Nebraska, and Cherena Jackson of Davenport; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Collage, Molly Hannah, Anna Lee Carr, Dorothy Jones, all of Davenport; brothers, Elgin Harrington, Leroy Harrington, both of Davenport, Wade Harrington of Madsen, Alabama, Jack Harrington and Buford Harrington, both of Davenport; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kevin, sisters, Florine Mosley and Jennie Harrington, and brothers, Wilbert, Elvin, and Willie Harrington.

Alta M. Kent, 89, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Genesis Medical Center, West campus.
A private family graveside service is being held today, May 22, 2003 with intermenty at Muscatine County Memorial Park, Muscatine, IA.
Weerts Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Alta was born April 18, 1914 in Rich Hill, MO to James F. and Florence R. (Wandell) Shearer. She married Harry Josiah Kent on March 25, 1938 in Ft. Madison, IA. He preceded her May 19, 1992.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Max Birtell, Eldridge, IA, and Suzen and Ralph Fanson, FL; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a niece Dixie and a nephew, John.
She was preceded by one daughter; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers.
