She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Kate (Albee) Hobbs; husband, Kenneth P. Hummel in 1987; and her 3 brothers, LaVerne, Wyndall and John Hobbs.
Ruth was a kind and gentle spirit who loved her family and friends. She loved to look for wildlife, watching birds and gardening. Ruth will be missed by all who were close to her.
Ruth had worked for the Vernon Company. She later worked as a waitress for 20 years at the Newton Country Club, retiring in 1985.
Ruth was a member of the First Christian Church, R.S.V.P. and VFW Post 1655 Women's Auxiliary.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Hospice of Jasper County or to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.

Dick was a retired veteran of the U. S. Army and U. S. Air Force. He began his career in February of 1955 and served for 20+ years.
Dick grew up in Newton and following part of his military career he returned to Newton to live in 1964.

Lillian was a member of the Assembly of God Church and was a big part of the Salvation Army.
She was most recently employed by Cardinal Cleaners in Des Moines as a clerk and had done a lot of restaurant work.

He was preceded in death by his father, maternal and paternal grandparents.
Jack had lived in Springfield and Monett, Missouri the last 14 years. He had also lived in Newton, Moravia, and Albia, Iowa.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and anything involved with nature. He aslo liked working with anything mechanical.

Dale was born December 26, 1914 in rural Warren county. He grew up and lived in rural southeast Marshall County. Dale was a graduate of Gilman High School in Gilman, Iowa. On August 26, 1943, Dale was united in marriage with Kathryn Heifner in Missouri. They moved to and made their home in rural Kellogg, Iowa .
Dale was a member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau and a past board member of the Mariposa Township Country School District.

Paul was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newton and Past Exalted Rutler of the Newton Elks Lodge No. 120. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Paul graduated from New Providence High School in 1934 and attended AIB in Des Moines, Iowa.
He was a hardware salesman for Garrett Hardware for 34 years, retiring in 1983. Following his retirement he worked at Hy-Vee East for a few years.

Jewel was a member of the Assembly of God Church and loved going to the Assemblies of God Women's meetings with her friend, Marion Suptin
She worked at Skiff Medical Center in housekeeping for 12 years, retiring in 1973.
