One retired co-worker said, "Dwight was capable of teaching the higher grades, but remained teaching the freshman year, he took the rowdy and unready and prepared them to finish a proper education." Dwight was an active member of the National Education Association. His teaching career echoed his true passion: the theatre. Dwight was very active in the Mason City Community Theatre, wearing many hats; actor, director, board member and past president. He recently received the Calvin Award for outstanding contributions in the MCCT.
