Doris I. McCann, 87, of Wichita, Kansas, died Nov. 5, 2006. Private family services were held.
Doris was born July 1, 1919, to Jens and Kathrine Jensen in Clear Lake.
She is survived by her daughters, Jane (Mike) Lindebak of Wichita, Ruth (Mike) Geringer of Nixa, Mo., Judith Stockwell of Oceanside, Calif.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Lainey Baker of Clear Lake; brother, Bob (Jeanne) Jensen of Mason City, Iowa, Roger (Martha) Jensen of Ottertail, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Jensen, of Clear Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll.

Frances Mae Brown Reed, 74, Clear Lake, IA, died Monday, November 27, 2006 at Little Elm, TX. A Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2006 10:30 AM at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, IA, with Lay Assistant Richard Scott officiating. Visitation will be Saturday 9:30 AM until the service. Inurnment will be at a later date in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Omaha, NE. Memorials may be given to the Clear Lake V.F.W.
Frances was born July 30, 1932 in Colerain, NC, the daughter of Obed Lee and Pauline (Sutton) Brown. She married Robert Reed June 11, 1950 in Edenton, NC. They moved to Omaha where she worked for Mutual of Omaha. They lived in Omaha, NE, Honey Creek, IA and moved to Clear Lake in 2000. Frances was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post #2503 and a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Linda Kennedy and her husband Gene, Omaha, NE and Charles Reed and his wife Margaret, Little Elm, TX; three grandchildren Jessica Reed, Little Elm, TX, Jennifer Reed (Steven Owen), Waxachchie, TX, and Joseph Reed, Little Elm, TX; one great granddaughter Hanna Frances Reed, Little Elm, TX; two sisters Christine Woehr, Waynesboro, VA and Mary Michelman and her husband Gary, Clear Lake, IA, two brothers Lee Brown and his wife Karen, Baltimore, MD and John Brown and his wife Charlene, New Freedom, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband Robert R. Reed, April 23, 2005 and her parents Obed and Pauline Brown.

Ann (Mrs. Douglas) Lee, age 84, of Clear Lake, died, Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at the Belmond Medical Center Hospice Unit with her
family at her side following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Dec. 4, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Clear Lake. The Rev. John R. Telp officiated. Burial was in the Elmwood-St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.

Ann Kloberdanz, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Mauer) Kloberdanz was born Dec. 11, 1921, at Britt, Iowa, the seventh of nine children. Ann was baptized and confirmed at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City. She attended Holy Family Church Elementary and High School.
In early adulthood she she took on the responsibility of helping to care for her ailing mother and assisting her father in caring for her
siblings. She then was employed as a bookkeeper for a cleaning service in Mason City. Her people skills, salemanship, and meticulous eye for fashion and clothing led to her career of more than 17 years in sales at the Style Shop in Mason City. Her warm and friendly personality and knowledge brought repeat clients from miles around.
On May 5, 1948 she was united in marriage to Douglas F. Lee at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City. This union was blessed with two daughters, Debbie and Laurie.
In 1949, Ann and Doug decided to build a lake cottage on the south side of Clear Lake for summer get aways. In 1958, the couple made their cottage in Clear Lake their permanent home and worked as a team in remodeling and expanding it and they have lived there since.
In 1958, the couple purchased and renovated a closed bowling alley and coffee shop in Ventura and operated it under the name of "The Village Inn." Ann and Doug turned the restaurant into one of the premiere steak houses in the region, along with a thriving bowling operation. In 1968 they sold the business and it's named was changed to what is known today as The Colony Inn in Ventura.
Following retirement from the restaurant, Ann became a full time mother and house wife to her two daughters and husband, though she
occasionally worked part-time at Clear Lake clothing stores and for the schools, while her husband returned to his business known as Lee's Construction, Inc..
Ann and her husband loved to attend farmer's markets and her delicious pies and pastries were treasured by numerous customers around the area. Many knew her as "The Pie Lady." Her desserts and salesmanship made her the top seller on many ocassions, even receiving media recognition for rapid sellouts at the markets.
She was always busy seeing to the needs of her family with love, kindness, and devotion. She was a meticulous house keeper; always making sure everything had a place. Her hobbies were numerous including crocheting, sewing, collecting, and saving, raising a lovely garden and flowers, as well as taking an excursion to play the slots. She loved shoes and clothes and always had to be sure everything coordinated. Ann absolutely relished going shopping and planned for Christmas by buying gifts for her family throughout the entire year. Ann truly was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, mother-in-law, and sibling. She cherished each and every opportunity to be with her family, no matter what the occasion. She always wanted to make sure that eveyone else's needs were taken care of before her own. For many years she, Doug, and Laurie, traveled to Chatsworth, Calif. to visit Debbie and help with work around their property and took family journey's to various other places. She also looked forward to family camping trips, teaching her girls etiquette, golfing, and loved seeing the Pope and Jimmy Carter.
She and her husband loved to dine out and go ballroom dancing. For the past 12 years they operated the Red Barn Antiques and Craft Store in Clear Lake. She loved her church and was devout catholic, as a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church she would help with providing and serving of food at funerals and on other occassions. She also was always there when needed by her children, whether it was covering the funeral home phones for Laurie and Tony, watching her grandson and apple of her eye, Zach Andrews, watching the pets, or helping out with Debbie and Dale's various activities on their ranch in Clear Lake.
For the past nine and one-half years she was one of the best grandmothers that one could ever ask for, surrounding her grandson Zachary with bountiful love and devotion. Their love and bond was inseparable.
Those who knew Ann well will remember her as gentle, yet stubborn. She was somewhat quiet on first acquaintance, but warmly received those who were in her presence calling them by first name. She was a lady's, lady.
Her family will truly miss their relationship with Ann as a devoted wife of 58 years, loving mother, and loving Grandma Ann. As a
mother she was also a "best friend" who always had time for them. They will cherish memories of delectable dinners and desserts, and all the fun and love shared with her at gatherings, celebrations, and other occassions. They will miss her companionship, tender care, and the daily conversations shared with her on the phone or in person. Her loving support, as the number one cheerleader in everything that they did.
Those left to cherish the legacy of her life and mourn her death, include her husband of over 58 years, Douglas F. Lee, of Clear Lake,
currently residing with his daughter, Laurie, in Belmond; daughter, Debbie Anderson and husband, Dale, Clear Lake; daughter, Laurie Andrews and husband, Tony, Belmond; her grandson, Zachary Andrews, Belmond; a brother, John Kloberdanz and wife, Jo, Uba City, Calif.; very special relatives, Margaret Lee, and Doug H. "Dude" Lee and wife, Phyllis, all of Mason City; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, "Baby Boy Lee"; four brothers, Frank, George, Peter, and Joseph; two sisters,
Margaret and Pauline.
Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond, was in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Leroy "Shrub" Busch, 60, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital following a brief illness. Mass of Resurrection was celebrated Saturday, Dec. 9, at St. Ludmilas Catholic Church. Burial was in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Diane, are two sons, Bob Busch of Marion, Iowa and Tom Busch (Meg) of Marion; three step-children, Jason Boyle (Kelli) of Cedar Rapids, Josh Boyle (Genevieve) of Des Moines, Iowa and Tara Boyle (fiancé Mike) of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Alexis and Austin Busch; and two step-grandchildren, Madison and Logan Boyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a half sister, Jeanette Bartell.
Tom was born July 8, 1946 in Garner, Iowa the son of LeRoy Busch and Charlotte (Kelly) Ziesmer. He married Diane K. Fisher on June 9, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nev. Tom graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School where he earned All-State awards in football, basketball, track and baseball. Tom received a football scholarship to Iowa State University where he earned a B.S. degree and set many school and Big 8 Conference records as a wide receiver. He was honored in his senior year at ISU when he was selected to play in the Blue Gray game in Montgomery, Ala. and in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. He was then drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals professional football team where he played one year and then went on to play for a year in the Canadian professional football league. For the last 37 years Tom went on to coach and teach school in Klemme, Iowa, Cedar Rapids Washington and Jefferson High Schools, and Wilson and Roosevelt Middle Schools. Tom had many hobbies and especially enjoyed playing on various slow pitch softball teams as well as many major fast pitch softball teams including Butt'r Topp of Clear Lake, The Bombers out of Des Moines, Collins Radio of Cedar Rapids, and JSK Engineering and Mahoneys in Cedar Rapids where he made life-long friends. He was inducted into the Iowa Fast Pitch Hall of Fame in 1998, the Cedar Rapids Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Iowa High School Football Hall of Fame. He was a member of CREA and St. Ludmilas Catholic Church.
Tom especially enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends, golfing, fishing, coaching high school and middle school football, basketball, track and girls softball.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Robert (Bob) Charles Kennedy, 71, of Fertile, Iowa, joined Our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa after a lengthy illness in Mercy Hospital. A funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Nimrod Anderson from Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Memorials may be given to Muse-Norris Hospice Unit in Mason City.
Robert Charles Kennedy was born Aug. 10, 1935 in Mason City, Iowa to Charles and Esther (Weitzel) Kennedy. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1953.
On Feb. 9, 1952, Bob was united in marriage to Mary Ann Elizabeth Bentele at Central Heights Community Church in Mason City. Bob and Mary Ann moved their family to a farm near Fertile and have lived there for 43 years, raising two sons and three daughters. These children have given them seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bob worked driving a gas truck in Mason City. He then worked for Winnebago Industries for 26 years before retiring in 1995. He also drove a school bus for the Forest City Schools for several years. His passion was farming, which he did from 1963 until retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Mason City.
After retiring, Bob and Mary Ann enjoyed traveling in their fifth-wheel trailer and spending the winters in Texas.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, of Fertile; three daughters, Bobbi Ann (Don) Elbert, of Ventura and their son, Kyle; Kim (David) Brue, of Forest City, Iowa and their daughters, Jennifer and Kelsey; and Kathy Wise and special friend, David Johnson, and her children, Amber Wise and son, Justice, and Cory Wise and wife, Liann. He also has two sons, Danny Kennedy of Plymouth, Iowa and special friend, Patti Lauritson, and Chuck Kennedy and his wife, Susan (Johnson) and son, Troy Johnson.
He is also survived by his mother, Esther (Kennedy) Mulhern of the Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake; sister, Arlene Kafer of Sheffield, Iowa, and a sister, Mary Whitnable of Bussey, Iowa; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Charles Raymond Kennedy; a brother, Clarence Kennedy; and two sisters, Linda Peterson and Violet McCloud.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Hans Jacobsen, 88, of Clear Lake, formerly of Thornton, Iowa died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 at Oakwood Care Center Clear Lake. Funeral services were Friday at First United Methodist Church, Thornton with Pastor Rose Calderon-Khan presiding. Interment with Veteran's Honors by Anton Juhl Post 244 American Legion was at Pleasant View Cemetery, Thornton.
Hans Peter Jacobsen was born Oct. 11, 1918 in Thornton to Emil and Johannah (Smith) Jacobsen. He attended Thornton school and graduated in 1936. He worked at Sondergard Produce Company until he entered the service in 1942. He served in the Army Air Corp in the European Theater as a Staff Sergeant and was Honorably Discharged in December 1945.
On Jan. 20, 1946 Hans was united in marriage with Velma Marie Luick in Mason City, Iowa. To this union was born a son, Don, and two daughters, Sue Meints and Jan Gobeli.
Hans worked for 34 years at Farmers Coop in Thornton. He retired in 1981 and continued to live in Thornton. Prior to moving to the care center in Clear Lake he had the distinction of living more years in Thornton than any other resident.
Hans was a member of the Methodist Church, American Legion, and Pleasant Valley Golf Club. He also served two terms on the Thornton City Council. He loved to garden, travel, play golf and watch his favorite birds - 'the Martins'.
He is survived by his children: Sue (Kirby) Meints, Fort Worth, Texas; Don (Donna) Jacobsen, Garner, Iowa; Jan (Steven) Gobeli, Cincinatti, Ohio; six grandchildren; two great -grandchildren; brothers and sister, Irving (Luella) Jacobsen, Honolulu, Hawaii; Alvin Jacobsen, Torance, Calif. and Florine Peters, Thornton; and by nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Velma; brother, Carl and sister, Elinor Lauritzen.
Retz-Grarup Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Marilyn A. Rosendahl, 76, of 701 N. Shore Dr., Clear Lake, died Sunday. Dec. 10, 2006 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.
A victory celebration of life service was held Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ventura, Iowa with the Rev. Daird Korth officiating. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Family suggests memorials to Marilyn A. Rosendahl memorial fund.
Marilyn Arloene Olson was born at home in Forest City, Iowa on June 22, 1930 to Orville and Pearl(Walton) Olson. She was baptized at three days of age. Marilyn grew up on farms near Forest City, Clear Lake and Osage, Iowa. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1947 and then attended Mason City Junior College. In 1951 she received a diploma in nursing from Fairview Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, Minn. She later earned her BSN from the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa. Marilyn married Dorance "Buck" Rosendahl on Dec. 29, 1950 and after he returned from the service they farmed near Ventura where they raised their four children.
Marilyn worked over 30 years as a registered nurse at both Park Hospital and Mercy Medical Center before retiring in 1992. During retirement she represented Cerro Gordo County for six years on the Elderbridge Board. Marilyn was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ventura. Marilyn enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, travel, golf, genealogy and entertaining her family and friends. Dorance and Marilyn wintered many years in Orange Beach, Ala.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Dorance; children, David (Connie) Rosendahl from Ventura, Lynne (Mary) Rosendahl, Clear Lake, Beth (Randy) Johnson, Clear Lake and Jane Martin, Nashville, Tenn. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Adam (Anna) Rosendahl of San Diego, Calif., Andrew (Joan) Rosendahl of Corpus Christi, Texas, Angela Rosendahl of Jacksonville, Fla., Justin (Jennifer) Rosendahl of Shawnee, Mo., Kenneth Rosendahl of St. Louis, Mo., Melissa and Ann Casey Martin of Nashville, and Bret McMahan of Maryville, Tenn.; step-grandchildren Drs. Matthew and Cara Wegner of Fairbanks, Alaska and Lisa (Joby) Brogden of Boone, Iowa; great-grandchildren Alexis, Aiden, Abigail and Oliver Rosendahl and step great-grandchildren Ross Wegner and Kallie Brogden; brother, Myron (Arlene) Olson of Marion, Iowa and sister Joyce (Dick) Cooper, of Solon, Iowa; brother-in-law, Glen (Jean) Rosendahl, Salem, Va.; sisters-in-law, LuElla Pitkin, Andrews, Texas, Phyllis Rosendahl, Mason City, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, William Oxley, and brother, Dean, in childhood.

Jeannine Ann Stork, 77, Clear Lake, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006 at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Dec. 16, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. John R. Tilp, officiating. Burial was private in the Osage Community Cemetery, Osage, Iowa. The organist was Mary Ellen Monson, with music led by Mary Stattleman and the St. Patrick's Choir. The honorary bearers were Jason Stork, Ryan Stork, Jim Kavars, Mike Secory, Betty Hoffman and Pam Secory. The casketbearers were Shane Stork, Michael Stork, Wes Nelson, Max Stork, Sadie Nelson and Sandi Stork. The family suggest memorials may be given in her name to donor's choice.
Jeannine was born March 23, 1929 in Mason City, the daughter of Maurice "Jim" and Lauretta (Leibold) Henderson. She grew up in the home of her mother in Mason City, and later in Clear Lake. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1947. On Aug. 28, 1948 Jeannine was united in marriage to Patrick Stork at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clear Lake. The couple made their home and raised their family in Clear Lake. Following Pat's retirement in 1987, they moved to Cherokee Village, Ark. and wintered in Palm Springs, Calif. They returned to Clear Lake in November of 1997. Pat died Jan. 24, 1999.
Jeannine graduated with a BSE from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and did graduate work in mathematics at Greeley, Colo. She taught elementary school at Thornton grade school, Thornton, Iowa, St. Joseph School, Mason City and several years at Roosevelt Elementary, Mason City until retiring in 1976. Jeannine was a lay minister, RCIA director in Clear Lake and lay minister and RCIA director at St. Michael's Church in Cherokee Village, Ark. She enjoyed dancing, bridge and was an excellent seamstress with the help of her friend, Joanne Watkins.
Those who were privileged to share in her life; three sons, Jay (Melody) of Athol, Idaho, Jon (Judy) of Rugby, N.D., and Kevin (Janet) of St. Augustine, Fla.; a daughter, Shannon Nelson, of St. Paul, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, Jason and Ryan Stork, Shane and Max Stork, Michael (Ginger) and Sandi Stork, Wes and Sadie Nelson, Tricia (Todd) Wingo, Natalie (Darrin) Bardin and Elisabeth (Steve) Castillo; three great-granddaughters, Emma Rose Stork, Morgan and Madison Castillo; and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Sam Thomas Nelson; and her parents.

Cheryl L. Hanson, 70, of 1004 5th Ave. S., Clear Lake, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006 at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St, Clear Lake with the Rev. Dean Hess officiating. Private Inurnment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery. Visiting with family will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Clear Lake Public Library Foundation in Cheryl's name.
Cheryl was born March 10, 1936, the daughter of Julius T. "Ted" & Marie (Benz) Willadsen in New Hampton, Iowa. Cheryl graduated from New Hampton High School in 1954. She attended and graduated from A.I.B. Institute in Des Moines, Iowa. She moved to Mason City to work. There she met her husband, David, and was married. She later worked in the office of a contractor in Clear Lake, the office of Doctors Larson and Powell and later for Mason City Clinic until she retired in 2001. Cheryl also worked part-time for the Clear Lake Library after her retirement. She was a board member of Clear Lake Library and North Central Regional Library. Cheryl enjoyed knitting, reading, genealogy, playing computer games, WWII and Western movies on DVD. Cheryl was a member of the Clear Lake Zion Lutheran Church.
Cheryl is survived by her three children, Mark and Keith Hanson of Clear Lake and Julie Hanson of Ames, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Lou Willadsen, Merritt Island, Fla., Betty Blick, Sultan, Wash., Jo Ellen Carpenter, Clear Lake, Joyce Stille, Swaledale, Iowa and Bonnie Hanson, Clarksville, Ga.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; two brothers, Roger and Lorne Willadsen; and sister-in-law, Joyce Willadsen.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
