TOLEDO – Margaret Emily (Loughry) Rairdin, 91, of Toledo, died May 4, 2006, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Death was due to complications of age.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Toledo, with Rev. Clair Hein and Rev. LaVern Seth officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. A memorial fund to benefit the First Presbyterian Church of Toledo has been established.

Janet Mason, 70, of Marshalltown, died Aug. 14, 2006, at Grandview Heights Care Center while in the care of Iowa River Hospice.

Left to mourn her loss are her three sons David (Kelly) Mason of Marshalltown, Rick of Marshalltown and Joel (Steff) of St. Anthony; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

GRUNDY CENTER - Helen A. Shelton, 94, of Grundy Center, died Aug. 13, 2006, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Church of Lincoln, with Pastor Wade Ditty officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Gladbrook. Visitation was Tuesday at Engelkes Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. A memorial fund has been established.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mildred Snow, 91
TRAER - Mildred Snow, 91, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Traer, died Aug. 14, 2006, in Mesa.
There will be no visitation. Military graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 26 at Buckingham Cemetery in Traer. Overton Funeral Home in Traer is in charge of local arrangements. Memorials may be sent to the All Saints Catholic Church Building Fund in Mesa.
Ethel M. Pippert, 80
GLADBROOK - Ethel M. Pippert, 80, of Gladbrook, died Aug. 18, 2006, in Stillwater, Minn., while in the care of her family and Stillwater Hospice.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Gladbrook United Methodist Church, with Rev. Roger White officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Goettsch Perrin Funeral Home in Gladbrook from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to her family in lieu of flowers.
She was born on a farm near Gladbrook, Iowa, on May 29, 1926, the daughter of Ray and Ruth Bruene Koster. Reared and educated in Gladbrook she graduated from high school there, and then graduated from Iowa State University in 1946. For one year she taught school in Laurel, Iowa, and then was a substitute teacher in Gladbrook for many years. Mrs. Pippert was also employed at Beardins General Store in Gladbrook. On May 22, 1948, in Gladbrook, Iowa, she was united in marriage to William Pippert.
Mrs. Pippert’s memberships include the Gladbrook United Methodist Church, the UMW, and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, Gladbrook Womens Club and the Alpha Study Club.
She is survived by one daughter Sue (Lee) Mockenhaupt of Stillwater, Minn.; two granddaughters Amy of Denver, Colo. and Lindsey of Montrose, Colo.; and a sister Eleanor (Gene) Smith of Indianola.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in December 1999; and her son Tom in 1979.
