Melree A. Arnold, 81, of Weatherby Lake, Missouri, formerly of Cedar Rapids and Marion, died Friday, February 28, 2002 in St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri following a sudden illness. Services at 1 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Monday.
Survivors include her son Don Arnold and wife Georgina of Weatherby Lake, Missouri, two grandchildren Kenneth Arnold of Springhill, Kansas and Tammy Lietzau of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, six great-grandchildren, four sisters Iris Jackson of North Bend, Oregon, Doreen Robinson of San Diego, California, Bonnie Anderson of Des Moines, Iowa, and Ardith Withers of Bellingham, Washington.
Melree was born December 17, 1920 in Everett, Washington to Don and Pearl Noland. She married
Kenneth Arnold in 1942 in Bethany, Missouri. He died in 1963. She proudly worked as a printer for Frank Magid and Associates for over 25 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, and sewing. She was a lifelong Presbyterian Church member.

Betty F. Altorfer, 84, of 2130 Goblins Gully SE, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, in her home following a long illness. Services at 1 PM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Dr. Elwin Farwell of Decorah, Iowa will officiate. Entombment in Chapel of Memories Mausoleum in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday and at the chapel after noon on Saturday.
Survivors include her husband Edward, sons Donald and wife Patricia of Springfield, Illinois, James and wife Sharon, Bruce and wife Janis, and Richard and wife Candy all of Cedar Rapids, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers Willis and Bert Fitton.
Betty was born July 7, 1917, in Peoria, Illinois, to Bertron and Salome Reed Fitton. She married
Edward J. Altorfer on June 22, 1940 in Peoria. She was a member of the Church of the Red Rock in Sedona, Arizona, Monday League, Cedar Rapids Garden Club, Junior League, a former member of P.E.O., a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana,
and served as a Regent at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

Catherine “Elaine” Bedell, 72, of Branson, MO, formerly of Cedar Rapids died Monday, January 18, 2010.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 am Friday, January 22, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Hiawatha with Rev. Dennis Cahill officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 pm Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her sons, Marc Bedell of Cedar Rapids, Steven Bedell of Branson, MO; Sister, Colleen Charkowski (Dennis) of Cedar Rapids; Brother, Allan Gremm (Nancy) of Coralville; Also several nieces, nephews and beloved cousins.
Catherine Elaine Gremm was born April 3, 1937 in Decorah, IA the daughter of Leonard and Donna (Ryan) Gremm. She worked for many years at Quaker Oats until she retired in 1998.

Vivian E. Avis of Cedar Rapids, Iowa was born October 3, 1924 in Buckingham, Iowa, to Ernest and Emma Anderson.
On July 3rd 2002 Vivian departed this life at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, Ia. Surrounded by family following an illness.
Vivian graduated in Garrison, Ia. and in 1948 she married
Otis A. Avis in Davenport, Ia.
Vivian retired from Midwest Foods.
Survivors include five children, a daughter Dixie Weidenbacher and Dan of Ocala, Fl., four sons John and Barb of Fairfax, Ia., Chuck and Beverly of Festus, Mo., Ken and Debbie of Vinton, Ia., and Donald and Debbie of Cedar Rapids, Ia. Two brothers Vernis 'Paul' Anderson and wife Norma of Moline, Il., Vernon 'Russell' Anderson and wife Elma of Cedar Rapids, Ia., and sister in law Betty Anderson of Cedar Rapids, Ia. Sixteen Grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Otis, her parents, a brother Ernest 'J. D.' Anderson and granddaughter Chasity L. Avis.
Services at 1 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Rev. William Harnish officiating. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday. A memorial fund has been established.
She will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband Loyal two daughters Julie Ohlheiser and husband Todd of Canfield, Ohio, Sherry Hehn and husband Michael of Eagle River, Wisconsin, a brother Don McElhinney and wife Karen of Cedar Rapids, three grandchildren, Jason, Ashlin, and Jennifer Ohlheiser, and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sandra was born April 16, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa to Donald and Clista Millspaugh McElhinney. She married
Loyal E. Adams on November 22, 1959. She graduated from Marion Vernon High School in 1959. She was co-owner with her husband of Adams Ceramic Tile from 1975 to 2000. During her early years she worked at C-MAR acres amusement park and roller rink that was owned and operated by her parents. She enjoyed her grandchildren, crocheting, gardening, canning, mushrooming, picnics, her summer vacations at Hayward, Wisconsin, and collected Beanie Babies.
Her family wishes to thank St. Luke's Hospice, friends, neighbors, relatives, and especially her niece Cathy Cook for all of their ongoing support.

Bridget Marie Achey, 2 year and 4 month old daughter of Michael and Barbara Achey, died Thursday evening at Mercy Medical Center after an accident at her home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Rev. Blair Frank of Trinity Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and at the Chapel after 10:30 on Tuesday. A memorial fund has been established in Bridget's memory.
Bridget is survived by her parents; a sister Mariah at home; her maternal grandparents, Sam and Pat Butler and her paternal grandparents, Bob and Carol Achey all of Cedar Rapids; Aunt Sandy and Uncle Allen Kaufhold of Cedar Rapids and special cousins Jessie and Jami all of Cedar Rapids. Bridget also had many other aunts, uncles and cousins that she loved very much.
Bridget was born October 11, 2000 in Cedar Rapids.
She was a bright and loving little girl who had the smile of an angel. She loved to read, fish, play catch with Dad and tease her big sister. Bridget was fond of sitting on Dad's lap and watching sports. She loved to run everywhere. She was a big help to Mom around the house by picking up after herself and others. One of her greatest treasures was her ability to make other people laugh and once you started she made sure you didn't stop. She was a real prankster and loved to soothe others.

Survivors include three daughters Martha and Janice Albaugh of Marion, and Mary Dorenbecker and husband Richard of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and a grandson Brent Dorenbecker of Dallas, Texas. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Joyce Elaine Albaugh, and two sisters Louise Kellams, and Margaret Struck.
Lillian was born May 11, 1910 in Oxford Junction, Iowa to Henry and Margaret Fritz Zak. She married
Max Albaugh on November 21, 1935 in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. He died October 26, 2000. Lillian had worked as a clerk at the Boston Store and as a waitress at several Marion restaurants. She was a former member of the Rebecca Lodge No 35.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Donald, two daughters, Nancy Stephenson and husband August of Cedar Rapids, Karen Lantz and husband Michael of Des Moines, a son Robert and wife Bernadette of Dallas, Texas, her sister Janet Krumbholz of Des Moines, five grandchildren, Wendy and Kristi Stephenson, Todd and David Lantz, and Blake Anderson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Eileen Spaight.
Jacquelyn was born December 12, 1928 in Cedar Rapids to Giles and Coletta Merfeld Joyce. She married
Donald W. Anderson on April 15, 1950 in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from St. Patrick's and worked many years for the St. Jude and LaSalle school systems. She also assisted her husband at Don's Auto Supply for several years. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
