GLADBROOK-Henry “Hank” Frericks, 89, of Gladbrook died Aug. 18, 2006, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Overton Funeral Home in Garwin. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook with Rev. Robert Doner officiating. Burial will follow at Badger Hill Cemetery in rural Gladbrook.
He is survived by his wife Merle of Gladbrook; one son Henry (Linda) Loran of Gladbrook; two daughters Barbara Storjohann, Shirley (Steven) Thomas all of Marshalltown; two sisters, Lucille Wauters of Chelsea and Esther (Mearl) Slate of Marshalltown; 6 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Robert L. Glovik, 69
INDEPENDENCE – Robert L. Glovik, 69 of Independence, Iowa died Aug. 18, 2006, at West Village Care Center following a short illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Independence with Msgr. Rev. Karl Glovik and Rev. Aloysius Vorwald officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Independence, IA.
Bob was born on June 24, 1937, in Independence, Iowa the son of Leo F. and Hilda (Soener) Glovik. He was a 1956 graduate of the St. John’s High School in Independence, and attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.
He was united into marriage to Beverly Ann Jamason on April 18, 1959 in Independence, Iowa. Bob was employed as a salesman with the BF Goodrich Company prior to becoming employed with the John Deere Co. in Waterloo, Iowa in 1972, until his retirement in 1995.
He was a member of the St. Pius the 10th Knight of Columbus and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
He is survived by five children: Julianne Campbell of Independence, IA., Michael (Jo) Glovik of Cedar Rapids, IA., Anne (Jerry) Waterbeck of Marshalltown, IA., Mary Glovik of Cedar Rapids, IA. and Elizabeth Berry of Independence, IA.; two brothers Msgr. Rev. Karl Glovik of Cedar Rapids, IA. and Richard Glovik, The Villages, Florida; seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Beverly Glovik in 1999.
Treye A. Blythe, 18
ACKLEY - Treye Allen Blythe, 18, of Ackley, died Aug. 19, 2006, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ackley-Geneva-Wellsburg-Steamboat Rock High School Gymnasium in Ackley, with Pastor Tim Diehl officiating. Burial will follow at Faith Presbyterian Church Cemetery in rural Ackley, Iowa. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 until 8 p.m., with the family present to greet friends from 4 until 8 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Ackley. A memorial fund has been established. Doyen Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg is in charge of his arrangements.
He is survived by his father Dustin (Cheryl) Blythe of Urbandale; his mother Lisa (Jeff) Smith of Ackley; one half brother Zachary Smith of Ackley; one half sister Grace Blythe of Urbandale; grandparents Wayne and Joyce Blythe of Wellsburg and Paul and Lu Anne Eckhoff of Creston; great grandparents Marie Akkerman, Gerhardt and Edna Kramer, and Henry L. and Louise Eckhoff, all of Ackley; step grandparents Mike and Kris Smith, and Linda Smith, all of Hudson, and David and Connie Pecinovsky of Protivin.
Dennis D. Cooper, 60
Dennis D. “Coop” Cooper, 60, of 12 W. South St., Marshalltown, died Nov. 4, 2006, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Glen H. Ferguson, 96
Glen H. Ferguson, 96, a resident of Grandview Heights Care Center, died Nov. 5, 2006, at the care center with his daughters by his side.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Estel-Perrin-Avey Chapel, with Pastor Kerry Jech officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be directed to Iowa River Hospice.
Glen was born on July 21, 1910, in Ferguson, the son of William E. and Avis A. (Howe) Ferguson. He was raised and educated in Ferguson. On July 28, 1934, in Unionville, Mo., he was united in marriage to Olive Medus. Following their marriage they lived on a farm near Gilman until 1959 when they moved to Marshalltown. He had been employed by Fisher Controls until his retirement in 1975.
Glen was a member of the U.A.W. Retirees.
He is survived by five children Lois Speas of Newton, Marlys Klonglan of Marshalltown, Linda Zermeno of Waterloo, Merle Ferguson of Chicago, Ill. and Wesley Ferguson of Marion.; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother Dillman Ferguson of Marshalltown; and a sister Lucille Herrick of Boone.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Olive; a daughter Phyllis; one brother; and one sister.
Edith M. Overman, 96
RHODES - Edith M. Overman, 96, formerly of Rhodes, died Nov. 4, 2006, at Oakview Care Center in Conrad.

Edith M. Overman was born on July 22, 1910, in Cyclone, Mo., the daughter of Marcus and Minnie (Bishop) Cowan. She came to Iowa with her family at the age of six, and at the age of 11 moved to Rhodes. She attended Rhodes schools, graduating from Rhodes High School in 1928. On June 22, 1930, she was united in marriage to John Benjamin Overman in Madrid, Iowa.
She was employed as a clerk with Hix Grocery in Rhodes for 20 years and was a member of the Rhodes United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Edith is survived by her sons John (Darlene) Overman of Rhodes, James (Bernie) Overman of Council Bluffs, Gene Overman of Papillion, Neb., William (Sandy) Overman of Rhodes and Thomas (Nancy) Overman of Midway, Ga.; a brother William Cowan of Westland, Mich.; a sister Ruth Grewell of Conrad; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1960; a son Charles; one granddaughter; five sisters; and two brothers.

Pearl Z. Petrie, 91, a resident of Villa del Sol, died there Nov. 5, 2006.

Bonnie J. Wilson, 62
Funeral services for Bonnie JoAn Wilson, 62, were held at Monday morning at St. Henry Catholic Church, with Father Louis Jaeger officiating. She was laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
Groups in attendance were the Iowa Veterans Home, Iowa River Hospice, St. Henry Church, Lioness and House of Compassion.
