Todd Allen Anderson, 54, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colo. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids. Pastors Randy Nord and Doug Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Todd was born Oct. 2, 1957, in Nevada, Iowa, to Allen A. and Gloria (Swanson) Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Ronda Anderson; daughter, Erin (Phil) Jones and grandson, Grayson, of Westminster, Colo.; two sons, Clark of Iowa City, and Samuel of Cedar Rapids; parents, Allen and Gloria Anderson of Cedar Rapids; sister, Shevawn (Richard) Huntley of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and mother-in-law, Rosalie Lippincott of Central City, Neb.
Todd grew up in Nevada, Iowa, before moving to Central City, Neb., in 1971. He graduated from Central City High School in 1976. Todd enrolled at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He graduated with a BS in Construction Management in the spring of 1981.
Todd married
his high school sweetheart, Ronda Lippincott on Aug. 9, 1980, in Central City, Neb. During their 31 years of marriage, the couple lived in Lincoln, Neb., Urbandale, Chesterfield, Mo., and Cedar Rapids.
Todd took joy in being a loving husband to Ronda, an involved and committed leader to his children, a proud “Papa” of Grayson, and a supportive friend to his many Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
Todd was always generous with his time and talents. He was an avid supporter and fan of anything Linn-Mar (and more recently Regina) High School. Todd was a handyman, often working on home improvement and woodworking projects with his boys. He loved vacationing at Camp Arcadia in Michigan, riding his motorcycle and being a project manager at Shive-Hattery.
Through the years Todd was involved in many organizations and committees including Sunrise Rotary; member and former chairman of Bethany Lutheran Church; Linn-Mar Stadium task force; founding member of the CRSA Soccer Club; and coach to numerous youth sporting teams.
Memorials are suggested to Rotary International, Linn-Mar Foundation and Bethany Lutheran Church.

Pauline L. (Platner) Austin, 92, Marion, Iowa, died Monday, September 3, 2012 at her sister’s home.
Visitation will be on Thursday September 6, 2012 from 4-8pm at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday September 7, 2012 at Faith Bible Church, 1800 46th St. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA .
Surviving daughters Fran Bartleson, Nashville, TN; Connie (Randy) Collins, Hewitt, TX;son Rickey G. ( Christine ) Austin, Lisbon , IA; sisters: Glenna Whitmarsh, San Antonio, TX; Mary Leget, Maquoketa, IA; brother Allen ( Marilyn ) Platner, Marion, IA; grandchildren: Kyle (Carole) Bartleson, Lawrenceville, GA; Dorian McCollam, Nashville, TN; Ian Jon Austin, Lisbon, IA; Aaron (Kristina) Austin, Marion, IA; Trina (Wade) Morrow, Carrie Rome, Samantha Collins, Hewitt, TX; and eleven great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband George Jan. 13, 1997; a son Rodney Dewayne Austin; brother Glenn Wayne Platner; sister Harriet Caraway; brother- in- laws George H. Caraway; Duane Whitmarsh; and Eugene Leget; and parents.
Born the daughter of Glenn and Marie (Stoneking) Platner, December 15, 1919, Mt. Vernon, IA. Graduated Alburnett Consolidated School; married
George W. Austin, February 19, 1939; and attended Faith Bible Church.
Among her many interests was a passion for genealogy, concentrating on Platner, Austin, Lange, Stoneking, Clymer, Rundall, and Peterson families. Pauline was awarded the Eagle award from the Austin’s of America Genealogical Society and the Rundall-Rundle Family of America award for her work.
Memorial may be made to Faith Bible Church or Camp Courageous in Pauline’s Name.
Gary M. Anderson

Gary M. Anderson, 65, of Cedar Rapids formerly of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012 at Manor Care in Cedar Rapids. Per Gary’s wishes he was cremated and wishes everyone to celebrate the memories and not mourn the passing. Cedar Memorial is assisting the family.
Gary Michael Anderson was born on October 24, 1946 to George and Lois Borden Anderson in Peoria, Illinois. He worked at Builders First Source as a welder. Gary proudly served in the US Army during Vietnam. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, Elvis and was an avid racing fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Anderson of Cedar Rapids and her children, Charity and Patience; and his son, George (Stephanie) Anderson of Cedar Rapids and their children, Summer and Brielle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans Group.

John Christopher Aldershof, 45, of Cedar Rapids passed away on March 4, 2013 in a car accident. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:30 AM with a visitation beginning at 9:30 AM at All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. Jack Flaherty officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 pm with sharing of memories beginning at 5 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
John was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on May 6th, 1967. He graduated from Washington High School and received his undergraduate degree from St. John’s College. John received an Architecture degree from Iowa State University in 1992 and was a licensed architect with the AIA. He studied abroad in Holland at the Delft University during his graduate studies. He was currently studying to receive his MBA from Mt. Mercy University.
Besides his career in architecture, John had a love for music and art. He enjoyed playing the drums in many different bands and considered music his great passion. He was also actively involved in the Unity Center of Cedar Rapids and attended services there and at All Saints Catholic Church. John had a great sense of humor and was funny and quick witted. John was blessed to have found his faith in God and had embraced his church community in recent years. He loved his daughter, Juliette, and nieces, Abby and Holland very much and was so proud of them all.
John is survived by a daughter, Juliette (13) of Chicago, IL; his parents, Jack Aldershof and Fran Aldershof, his sister Susie (Kent) Van Metre, nieces Abigail and Holland Van Metre, grandmother, Lucille Sievers of Anamosa, and many other family and friends.
John is preceded in death by grandparents, Peter and Margaret Aldershof and grandfather, John Sievers.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in John’s honor for his daughter’s education may be made at any US Bank location in care of The Juliette Aldershof education fund.
Raymond "Ray" Donald Anderson

Raymond “Ray” Donald Anderson, 74, of Hiawatha, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at his home after an extended illness. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service/luncheon at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1363 First Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids. Ray donated his body to the University of Iowa for scientific purposes.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Anderson; children, Deadra (Ray) Terpkosh, Cecil (Jody) Anderson and Anna (Paul) Lemke; brothers, Lester (Corinne) Anderson and Elwood (Dominique) Anderson; sisters, Ardis Jacobson, Joann Haugenoe, Lavon Roberts, Kaye Lynn Anderson and Phyllis Berg; and grandchildren, Kristian, Lukas and Bailee Anderson and Jacob and Nathanael Lemke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anders and Mildred Anderson; brother, Merril Berg; and son, Dean Ruppert.
Ray was born in Ambrose, N.D., on Feb. 19, 1939. He attended Crosby, N.D., Public Schools. Ray served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1960 and joined Men’s Auxiliary VFW. Ray married
Betty Ruppert on Dec. 21, 1963, in Las Vegas, Nev. They have lived in Iowa since 1967. Ray drove for Nash Finch 25 years, driving 45 years total. He received his pilot’s license in 1981 and enjoyed flying his Piper Tripace

Edward L. Bleeker, 81, of Shellsburg, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Cottage Grove Place. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Peace Christian Reformed Church by the Rev. Gary Brouwers. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, January 1, 2010 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, and after 9:30 AM on Saturday at the church.
Surviving are children Todd (Linda) Bleeker of Beloit, WI, Joel (Lynn) Bleeker of West Des Moines, Glen (Lisa) Bleeker of Firestone, CO, Ross (Shirley) Bleeker of Cedar Rapids, Beth Bleeker of Marion, Paul (Dawn) Bleeker of Newton, and Reed (Angie) Bleeker of Solon; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Bleeker of Lake Elsinore, CA and Ray (Berdene) Bleeker of Pipestone, MN.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey, his parents; two sisters, and five brothers.
Edward was born March 11, 1928 in Castlewood, SD to Neil and Minnie Bleeker. He married
Audrey Schiefelbein on August 12, 1955 in Clear Lake, SD. Edward received his bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State and his Master’s degree from Iowa State University where he was working toward his Doctorate degree. He retired as Superintendent of Schools at Ruthven Ayrshire School District. He was a retired Navy veteran and a member of Peace Christian Reformed Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed.
The family requests that all donations are made to Peace Christian Reformed Church to be donated to Wycliffe Bible Translators.

Barbara A. Bruce, 86, Maricopa, AZ. formerly of Central City died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at her son’s home in Maricopa after a long illness. Services at 1:00 PM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. . Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Sunday.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Sandy) of Maricopa, AZ. and one daughter, Renee Kleitsch of Muscatine. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Dann and Vanessa Figueroa, Wyatt Bruce; and two great grandchildren Savannah and Saylim Figueroa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, Susan and a sister, Kathryn Burger.
Barbara was born on November 25, 1923 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Carl and Bertha Saul Johnson. She married
Donald L. Bruce on April 15, 1942 in Yakima, Washington. He died in 1981. Barbara was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Society. She greatly enjoyed and loved her family, her many friends and was always there for them.
