Edward J. 'Jack' Benesh, 81, of 3312 Prairie Dr. NE, died Sunday, January 11, 2004, in St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Services with military rites at 9 AM Thursday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday and at the chapel after 8:30 AM on Thursday.
Survivors include a daughter Julie Benesh of Chicago, Illinois and her significant other Roman Bonzon of Rock Island, Illinois, a brother Charles and a sister Joan Young address unknown. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers Harold and Robert.
Edward was born October 28, 1922 in Cedar Rapids to Charles and Zilpha Wilson Benesh. He married
Shirley Thomas on January 1, 1945 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Shirley died August 8, 1986. He worked for Collins-Rockwell for 30 years in engineering and as a technical writer. He was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church, American Legion Hanford Post No 5, and a lifetime member of the Cedar Rapids Coin Club. He served during WW II in the Army Air Corps.

Naomi G. Brower, 83, of 345 Marion Blvd, Marion, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, January 15, 2004, at home following a short illness. Services at 1 PM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Saturday.
Survivors include two sons Mark and Brian both of Cedar Rapids, a daughter Sally Allen and husband Jeff of Solon, and an estranged daughter Susan Clark of Cedar Rapids, and two grandchildren Cherie and Jason Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers Lloyd and Leonard.
Naomi was born March 1, 1920 in East Union, Kentucky to James and Susan Kirby Grimes. At the age of 19 she received a Private Pilots License. She married
H. Paul Brower on August 28, 1948 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He died in 1989. Naomi had been a switchboard operator with the F.B.I. for J. Edgar Hoover in Washington, D.C. In Cedar Rapids she worked in food service for the Community Schools. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi.

Kenneth L. Dahl, 70, of Cedar Rapids, died October 31, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. William B. Harnish will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Linda; daughters, Debra (Grant) Grimm, Vicky (Terry) Osten, and Cindy (Scott) Bowser all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Lisa Osten, Patrick Osten, Kate Grimm, and Adam Osten all of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Dorothy Williams of Cedar Rapids, Carol Baker of Tipton, Janice Townsend of Cedar Rapids, and Marilee Dinc of Alabama; brothers, Dick Dahl of Cedar Rapids; Rudy Ulferts of Marshalltown, Harold (Sam) Ulferts of Alabama, George (Darlene) Ulferts of Central City, Allen Ulferts of Cedar Rapids, and Ernie (Barb) Ulferts of Sioux City; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and very close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lyle and David.
Ken was born April 6, 1940 in Iowa City the son of Ernest L. and Dorothy E. (Barlow) Dahl. He was united in marriage to Linda Boxwell on February 18, 1960 in Tipton, IA at First Methodist Church. He was the owner and operator of Ken Dahl Auto, since establishing his business in 1969. He loved all aspects of cars, his most loved cars being his many Corvettes. One of his favorite pastimes was traveling to car shows and auctions. Above all his greatest enjoyment was time spent with his family. He will be greatly missed.

Frederick R. Buchanan Jr. 74, a resident of Living Center West died there Tuesday January 20, 2004 following a long illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday at cedar memorial Chapel Of Memories by the Rev. Terry Seufferlein. Friends may call on Cedar Memorial Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and after 10:30 a.m. at the chapel on Saturday. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include a sister in law, Frances Buchanan of Phoenix, Arizona, a nephew, Jim Buchanan of Columbus, Ohio, and a niece, Joan Bradley of Lincoln, California.
Also surviving are many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Millard Buchanan.
Frederick was born January 30, 1929 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Frederick and Agnus Stolba Buchanan Sr. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1948. He was a manager at Cedar Rapids Sporting Goods Store and was also employed at LaPlante Choate Co., Kirkwood Community College and Cryovac. Frederick was a sports trainer for Jefferson and Roosevelt High School. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 788, American Legion Hanford Post # 5, and Jefferson Booster Club. He was past secretary of Cedar Rapids Softball Association, past president of Evening Lions Club and Speed Skating Association and board member and past president of Cedar Rapids Sports Club. He was elected into the Jefferson Hall Of Fame, Track Hall Of Fame, Softball Hall Of Fame and Iowa Speed Skating Hall Of Fame. In 1972 he received Outstanding Citizen Award for his contribution to metro sports by the Cedar Rapids Sports Club. Frederick served in the Army during the Korean War with the 1st Calvary Division.

Survivors include a son Philip Edward Berry and wife Vicky of Santiago, Chile, five grandchildren, Michelle, Jeremy, Josefina, Victoria, and Felipe, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and a foster son Thomas H. McGowan and family of New Fairfield, Conn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Agnes Mary Martin Bizulis, a son Ronald, a brother Anthony Bizulis, and two sisters Helen Daggett and Sister Mary Agnesian BVM.
Francee was a attendance secretary for the Cedar Rapids Community Schools for 25 years.
Francee had attended Mount Mercy College and Kirkwood Community College. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, National American Business Women's Association, and Cedar Rapids Association of Educational Office Personnel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Wanda.
Richard was born September 14, 1933 in Clayton County, Iowa, to Allison and Morga Buchheim. He married
Wanda L. Wilson on February 4, 1956 in Manchester. She died July 23, 1985. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, and worked as a machinist at Cherry Burrell for over 30 years retiring in 1994. He was a member of VFW Post No 788.

Gerald was born December 15, 1927 in Cedar Rapids to Carl and Bertha Simmons Barker. He first married
Anne Biddinger. They divorced. He married
Patricia McConaughy on January 8, 1977 in Cedar Rapids. He was the business agent for Chapter 1 Local #3 Bricklayers Union of Iowa. He served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, VFW Post No 788, and the Elks club.
