Janet M. Coy, 74, of Murrieta, CA. formerly of Cedar Rapids and West Union, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 at the Menefee Valley Hospital in Sun City, CA. after a long illness. Services at 1 PM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday and at the Chapel after noon on Friday.
Survivors include her husband, Otis, two daughters, Susan Wescott and her fiance', Dean, of Cedar Rapids and Sally Ives of Hemet, CA., two sisters, Velma Wendling and Marvel Mershon and a brother, Virgil Theel. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Kim, Kip, Ken, Kris, Mike, Shelly, a step grandchild, Billy, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
Janet was born on Dec. 8, 1929 in Manchester, the daughter of Frederick and Marie Gienapp Theel. She married Otis Coy Jr. on July 3, 1959 in Cedar Rapids. Janet worked as a data processor for Iowa Manufacturing, Pen Ford and Harnischfeger. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Memorial donations may be given to the American Lung Association in Janet's name.

Donald Ray Campbell

Donald Ray Campbell, 59, of 1841 Mallory St. SW, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at home following a long illness. Services at 1 PM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Pastor Ginny Bass of Amenity Hospice will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Saturday.
Survivors include a son Dan of Columbia, Missouri, four daughters Donna Wullner and husband Doug of Cedar Rapids, Dawn Beltz and husband Ralph of Columbia, Missouri, Alisha Comstock of Lovilia, Iowa, and Raechel Comstock of Bussey, Iowa, a brother Richard "Whitey" Campbell and wife Barbara of Cedar Rapids, seven grandchildren, Ryan, Fred Jr., and Raelene Tobin, Anthony, Andrew, and Alek Beltz, and Cameron Campbell, and one on the way, and a special friend Karen. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Katie Riding, twin sons Timmy, and Tommy, and a grandson Adam Beltz.
Donald was born April 17, 1944 in Cedar Rapids to Donald and Idell Moore Campbell. He was an Iron Worker for Iron Workers local 89. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, singing, and story telling.
Instead of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Joyce A. Collum, 66, of 3199 3rd Street, Marion, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 in University Hospital in Iowa City following a long illness. Services at 1 PM Friday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Friday.
Survivors include her husband Wayne, son Dan of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, daughter Jill Messling and husband Greg of Holmen, Wisconsin, and four grandchildren, Brianna and Wesley Collum and Jordyn and McKenna Messling. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Joyce was born March 14, 1938 in Cedar Rapids to Merrill and Dorothy Hanson Wilson. She married Wayne F. Collum on August 8, 1959 in Cedar Rapids. Joyce was a health aid at Linn-Mar High School for 22 years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital gift shop.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Clinic in care of the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, or to the cancer care unit at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids..

Alfred F. Danker
Born in Clutier, Iowa on October 4, 1934
Departed on November 17, 2002. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Alfred F. Danker, 68, of 1197 Blairsferry Rd. NE, died Sunday, November 17, 2002, in his home following a extended illness. Services at 10 AM Thursday in Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha. Rev. Daniel Krueger will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday and at the church after 9:30 AM on Thursday.
Survivors include two daughters Julie Trachta and husband Thomas of Cedar Rapids, and Jayne Salzbrenner and husband John of Marion, a son John and wife Lora of Cedar Rapids, his mother Helene Danker of Marengo, a brother John and wife Leona of Marengo, a sister Dorothy Wandling and husband Roy of Waukon, Iowa, and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Bernhard, a sister Frances, and a brother Kenneth.
Alfred was born October 4, 1934, in Clutier, Iowa. He graduated from Keystone High School. He was manager of the photo lab at Rockwell-Collins from November 21, 1956 to January 5, 1990.
The family wishes special thanks to Dr. Ghosh and the Staff at Iowa Blood and Cancer Care.
A memorial fund has been established.

Darlene Joyce Carr

Darlene Joyce Carr, 69, of 1435 4th Avenue SE, died at Mercy Medical Center on Thursday, April 8, 2004 after a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. Willie W. Clemmons. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Turner East Funeral Home & Crematory Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Those left to honor her memory are her daughters, Terri Albert Johnson, Judi Davis, Lynne Davis, and Earlyce Francisco Barreto, all of Cedar Rapids; three sons, Edward Davis and David Davis of Cedar Rapids, and Adrian Davis of California; 23 grandchildren; four sisters, Beverly Archie Johnson and Sharon Richard Hinton, and Diane Fred Hinton, all of Davenport, and Patricia Nathaniel Jones of Moline; four brothers, Chester Wyatt Jr., Marvin Sharon Wyatt, Patrick Diane Wyatt, and Michael Dolores Wyatt, all of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Maxine Dixon, Jackie Brinker-Jackson, Ada Lucas, and Audrey Williams; and two brothers, Donny and Gene Wyatt.

Darlene was born January 17, 1935 in Davenport to Chester Joseph and Edna Wyatt Sr. and married Edward Davis on October 22, 1956. He died in 1967. She then married Earl Carr on October 10, 1970. He died in 1992.

She was a member of Bethel AME Church in Cedar Rapids and loved the Lord. She loved boxing and cooking and watching the fish in her pond in the backyard. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be truly missed.

Karl R. Clendening Jr
Born in Indianapolis, IN on September 29, 1915
Departed on April 12, 2004. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Karl R. Clendening Jr., 88, of 3307 Wenig Rd N.E. died Monday April 12, 2004 in his home from a short illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Turner East Funeral Home & Crematory where friends may call today from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Rev. William B. Harnish will officiate. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife Helen Clendening, two sons, Karl R. Clendening III of Roanoke, Virginia, Gary A. Clendening of Bolder, Colorado, a daughter, Nancy Baker of Hiawatha, a sister, Ernestine E. Jones of Green Bay, Wisconsin and two brothers, Paul R. Clendening of Corpus Christi, Texas and Dorritt Clendening of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Feerick.
Karl was born September 29, 1915 the son of Karl R. and Grace Riggs Clendening in Indianapolis, Indiana. He lived there with his parents until spring of 1921 when they moved to Lincoln Heights. He was a graduate of Washington High School and attended Coe College. He worked for Coldstream Poultry Farms where he met and married his sweetheart, Helen Yearick on September 23, 1939 in Cedar Rapids. His intentions were to become a mechanical engineer but instead became a poultry engineer and saw to it that farm chickens became table chickens. He was owner and operator of Coldstream Poultry Farms until his retirement in 1984.
He was a 58 year member of the Elks Club, where he was an active bowler on their league and others. He loved helping people and fixing any of their broken items. Karl enjoyed building birdhouses for his friends. He had a great love for birds and raised Giant Homer pigeons at which he developed a new color breed of pigeons. He served in the Army during World War II.
A memorial fund has been established for the Elks National Foundation by the family.
