Pete Covington, 41, of 1622 Park Town Lane NE, died at his home, Friday, June 4, 2004 as a result of epilepsy. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. William B. Harnish. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 10 a.m. Monday.

Survivors include his wife Pamela; a son Page, of Cedar Rapids; his parents, Thomas and Sue Covington, of Cedar Rapids; his grandmother, Loretta Thompson of Cedar Rapids; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gary and Debbie Fries of Cedar Rapids and Cindy and Russ Kramer of Delhi; and many aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.

Born August 30, 1962 in Cedar Rapids, he married Pamela Voeltz there on September 14, 1985.

Pete loved the Chicago Cubs and working with his computer. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert H. Clapp
Born in Davenport, Iowa on August 9, 1933
Departed on August 12, 2004. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Robert H. Clapp, 71, of 1501 10th Street NW, died Thursday, August 12, 2004, in his home following a sudden illness. Services at 11 AM Monday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Fran Griffeth will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 10 AM on Monday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include a daughter Sheri Clapp of Hiawatha, two sons Kevin Clapp and wife Melissa of Hiawatha, and Randy Clapp and wife Susan of Cedar Rapids, and four grandchildren, Coby, Chad, Larissa, and Kelsey. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a sister Betty Samberg.
Robert was born August 9, 1933, in Davenport, Iowa, to Howard and Blanche Clay Clapp. He married Jeanette W. Brown on March 6, 1954 in Davenport. She died February 3, 2001. He was employed by Northwestern Bell/ US West Communications for over 37 years retiring in 1988. He was elected a member of the Iowa State Slow Pitch Softball Hall of Fame in 1979. He was a charter member and helped establish the Cedar Rapids Softball Hall of Fame in 1983.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Rapids Softball Hall of Fame.

Johnnie Mae Dixon
Born in Louise, Mississippi on August 15, 1909
Departed on April 12, 2009. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Johnnie Mae Dixon, 99, of 1501 B Ave NE, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at her home following a short illness. Services will be held at 1 PM Thursday at Word Of Faith Pentecostal Church Of God In Christ. Rev. Wendell Beets will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, and at the church after noon on Thursday.

Survivors include five daughters, Cora (Al) Cooks, Bobbie Mims, Johnnie (Jack) Ray, Ella (Eugene) Murphy, and Stella (Edward) Martin all of Cedar Rapids, 34 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 23 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, son Luther, five sisters, and four brothers.

Johnnie was born August 15, 1909 in Louise, Mississippi, to Johnny and Prudence Batup Brown. She was married to Bob Dixon who died in 1947. She was a homemaker and member of Word Of Faith Pentecostal Church Of God In Christ. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, fishing, singing, and spending time with her family.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.

Mark B. Clark
Born in Springville, Iowa on February 23, 1956
Departed on November 18, 2004. Resided in Springville, IA.

Mark B. Clark, 48, of Springville, died of Pancreatic cancer at his mother's home in Cedar Rapids, Thursday, November 18, 2004. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at King of Kings Lutheran Church by the Rev. Leon Hauser. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church

Survivors include his daughter Tiffani Clark of Cedar Rapids; his mother Ruth Clark of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Paul Julie Clark of Cedar Rapids and his twin Marlin Clark of Martelle; two sisters, Bette Ann Gifford of Cedar Rapids and Marty Don Harper of Anamosa; his significant other, Melissa McMann of Springville; many nieces and nephews, and loyal friend, Landee.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Marvin D. Clark.

Mark was born February 23, 1956 in Springville to Marvin and Ruth Hawley Clark. He worked for Absolute Disposal and then Bluestem Solid Waste Agency. Mark loved NASCAR racing, working on cars, riding motorcycles, and his mother's rosegarden. He enjoyed playing practical jokes, especially with his twin, Marlin.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Glenn L. Darrow
Born in Elkport, IA. on June 19, 1910
Departed on November 18, 2002. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Glenn L. Darrow, 1871 Ellis Blvd. N.W., died Monday at his residence at the age of 92, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Services: 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by Rev. Nick Longworth, St Lukes Hospital Chaplain. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, and at the Chapel of Memories after 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Surviving are two daughters, Leigh Parkin and husband Wayne of Tucson, Arizona, Ann Bergren-Poe and husband Stan of Cedar Rapids, a son; Kim Darrow of Cedar Rapids, adopted son, Robert Ross Jr. and wife Jean of Santa Fe, New Mexico, nine grandchildren; Barbara Klinger, Jeffrey Klinger, Andria Londquist, Britni Bergren, Jordan Bergren, James Parkin, Edward Parkin, Charlotte Parkin, Lucas Tilley and great grandson, Kainen Klinger, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, 4 sisters, his wife Ann and a daughter, Diane Darrow in 1950.

Mr. Darrow was born June 19, 1910 at Elkport, Iowa to Newell and Daisy Goddin Darrow and was married to Ann J. Fieseler on June 24, 1934 in Cedar Rapids. She preceded him in death in 1987. He formerly owned Glenn's Auto Mart in Cedar Rapids.
He was a past member of the Elks Club, Elmcrest Country Club and Mizpah Masonic Lodge #639.

An avid golfer, Glenn had won several city amateur golf tournaments in Cedar Rapids and during his golf career, he also participated in several state championship tournaments having once reached the semifinals in match play. Glenn had an unconditional love for the game, a passion that he always claimed was the 'elixir for life'.

Friends may, if they wish, make contributions to St Lukes Hospice or a memorial fund is being established in the name of Glenn L. Darrow to teach and promote golf to youth in this area. Golfing memorials may be sent to Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, 4200 1st Ave. N.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402

The family would like to thank Dr. David Bittleman and the St. Lukes Hospice staff and volunteers for all of their love and support during Mr. Darrow's illness.

Michael J. Cram

Michael J. Cram, 47, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2004. Private services will be held with inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include his parents Walter and Joan Cram of Marion, three brothers Steven of Atkins, Timothy and wife Theresa of Ft. Worth, Texas, John and wife Diane of Marion, two sisters Judy Arnold and husband David of Center Point, Barb Orr and husband Dennis of Cedar Rapids, eleven nieces and nephews, one great-niece and one great-nephew.
Michael was born August 19, 1957 in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Marion High School in 1975 and attended Kirkwood and Mt. Mercy.
Michael enjoyed his time with his nieces and nephews. He was especially fond of his two cats Tabby and Tiger.
