Doris Lea Floyd, 81, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Services: 1:00 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel by the Rev. Julie A. Schuett. Interment: First Presbyterian Cemetery, Ely. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.
Doris is survived by her daughters; Sherry (Mike) Winters of Osage, Susan (Leslie) Feyerabend of Ely, and Shelly (Dennis) Huffer of Marion; a sister, Bernice Quigg of Kannapolis, North Carolina; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Floyd, her daughter, Sandra Gail, her parents, a sister, Gertrude Gonterman and a brother, Larry Finch, a baby sister Laura and a brother-in-law, Ben Quigg.
Doris was born August 28, 1930 in Cedar Rapids to Lawrence and Charlotte Finch. She married
Joseph Floyd on August 26, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He died in 1975. She was employed by Prairie Junior High School as kitchen manager for 25 years, retiring in 1989. Doris was a member of the First Presbyterian Church near Ely, the Rebecca Circle, and P.L.O. Asbury United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ely. Doris loved playing Bingo, crafts and enjoyed dancing at the Eagles Club. Doris always encouraged her family’s dreams- Go for it! Dianna Lynne Eggers

Dianna Lynne Eggers, 66, of Cedar Rapids, was released to her home in Heaven on Saturday, June 25, 2011. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Concordia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jerry Doelinger. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Eggers and Jennifer Eggers Stearns, both of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Darlene Hotopp of Des Moines, Mayme Ann (Bill) Smith and Janice Alden, both of Plano, TX, Donna (Don) Coon of Cedar Rapids, and Laura Grau of Garland, TX; a brother-in-law, Rev. Frank Pieper of Emden, IL; and grandchildren, Sarah, Caleb, and Amira Eggers and Mackenzie Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Joyce Pieper and a brother, Lowell Grau.
Dianna was born May 12, 1945 in Clinton to William and Helen Grau. She graduated from DeWitt High School and then received a bachelor’s degree in English and Journalism from the University of Iowa. Dianna taught journalism and language arts in Washington, Iowa and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Raymond Fare Jr.

Raymond Fare, Jr., 75, of Gravois Mills, Missouri died Friday, November 12, 2004, in Jefferson City, Missouri, following a lengthy illness. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are his children; Carol Dewey and her husband Chuck of Iowa City, Joyce Ann Fare of Cedar Rapids, and Bill Fare of Cedar Rapids; a brother, James Fare and his wife Nancy of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law Judy Fare of Cedar Rapids; a brother-in-law Kenneth 'Ted' Paul of Central City; and his special friend Bonnie Owens of Gravois Mills, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, three sisters, Norma Paul, Velma Hoffman, and Lois Eischer, and two brothers Kenneth Wayne Fare, and John Fare.
Ray was born July 6, 1929 in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Ray and Anna Chrisman Fare, Sr. On October 4, 1946, in Wyoming, Iowa, he was married
to Celena Marie Hilligardt. He worked for 30 years at Century Engineering in Cedar Rapids, while farming near Alburnett. After Celena died in 1997, he moved to Missouri, where he lived until his death.
Ray loved camping and being outdoors, and enjoyed the time he spent in Missouri. He will be missed by his family, his friends, and all his nieces and nephews.
Ray's family requests no flowers.
Paula J. Ford

Paula J. Ford, of North Liberty, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed from this world on April 29, 2010 at the age of 56. Friends and family are invited to Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home in Dubuque for a visitation from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday with a wake service at 7:00 p.m. Services will be held at 11:00 .am. Thursday at Resurrection Catholic Church in Dubuque. Internment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.
She was born at Westover AFB in Massachusetts on October 7, 1953 to Dick and Jeanne Ford while Dick was stationed there with the Air Force. The oldest of seven children, Paula was raised on a farm near Mason City, Iowa. She received a degree in Nursing from Allen School of Nursing in Waterloo and went on to practice nursing in Dubuque and Iowa City. While in Iowa City her interests turned to the role of women in society and she entered the University of Iowa to study Anthropology. Her studies took to her to rural and urban communities in Guatemala and Nicaragua. She was awarded a Master’s of Art in Anthropology in 1990 for her thesis Social Transformations in Guatemalan Communities: Class, Ethnic, and Gender Relations and a Ph.D 2000 for her dissertation thesis Narratives of Social Healing: Cultural Politics and the Nicaraguan Women's Movement. Following that she returned to nursing at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics where she provided compassionate care to those with mental disorders, particularly eating disorders.
Paula leaves behind to honor her memory, her mother, Jeanne Ford, of Dubuque; six brothers and sisters, Pat Ford (Lynn), Dubuque, Katy Voet (Jeff Hegwer) of Mason City, Jim Ford (Joy) of Ankeny, John Ford of Austin, Texas, Jane Dolter (John) of Dubuque, and Sara Todd (Dale) of Cedar Rapids; nieces and nephews, Michael Voet (Marie), Liz and Joe Ford, Karl and Kristina Dolter, Dillon Ford, Ali and Katie Ford, and Adam Todd; and her very dear friend, Tom Chadderdon of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Ford, and her grandparents.
Paula was a lifelong learner who loved a good conversation. Her caring heart and unconditional love have touched each one of us and she will live in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to be made in Paula's memory to The Arc of East Central Iowa, Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy or TriYoga of Cedar Rapids.
Joni L. Feller

Joni L. Feller, 54, of Cedar Rapids, died March 11, 2012 at Manor Care Health Service following an extended illness. There will be a private graveside service to celebrate Joni’s life at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Dickerson officiating.
Survivors include husband Paul, of 30 years and brother Derick Blizek of Davenport. Joni was preceded in death by her parents.
Joni L. Feller was born January 16, 1958 in Kirksville, Missouri to Keith and Eleanor (Clark) Blizek. She married
Paul Feller on September 26, 1981 in Dubuque, Iowa and worked many years as a computer programmer in the insurance industry. Joni loved reading, gardening and spending time with animals.
Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses that helped with the care of Joni during the last five years. Their compassion and kindness was greatly appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in memory of Joni to the American Cancer Society.
Mae Fuller

Mae Fuller, 92, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died on Friday, November 7, 2008, in Los Alamitos, California due to complications from pneumonia. At Mae's request, there will be no services.
Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Delong and granddaughter, Christine Delong, both of California; sister-in-law Lorraine Millard; and several nieces.
Mae was born September 25, 1916, in Dallas, Wisconsin, but spent most of her life in Cedar Rapids. She worked for many years at Armstrong's. She was a member of Hillside Wesleyan Church. She loved cooking, bird watching, and Hawkeye basketball.
Mae was preceded by her husband, Robert "Pinky" Fuller; her parents, Fred and Grace (McAdow) Millard; her brothers, Calvin, Ralph, Wilfred, and Kenneth Millard; and her best friend, Olive.

William “Sam” Farner, 70 of 1537 Matterhorn Dr. NE. and Estero, Florida died Friday Dec. 5, 2008 at the Dennis and Donna Hospice House of Mercy after a short illness. Services at 11 AM on Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Lanny Tuttle will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Monday.
Survivors include his wife Dee, four brothers Steve (LaVonne) of Ames, Cy (Sandra) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Tom (Jeanne) of Carroll; and two sisters, Sally (John) Norgaard and Sara (Dennis) Anderson all of Carroll. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Christopher John Farner.
Sam was born on Dec. 17, 1937 in Carroll, the son of William and Lois Hulsebus Farner. As a teen he started working at Farner-Bocken and graduated from the Carroll High School in 1957. He attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. He started his career as a sales rep. for the General Cigar Co. and later went into partnership in the Farner-Hewett Co. in Charles City. He married
Delores “Dee” Jacobs Reckner on Dec. 28, 1967 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1981 he became president of the Farner-Bocken Cedar Rapids Company, retiring in 2007. Sam continued to serve on the Farner-Bocken Board of Directors.
Sam was a member of and Past President of I.A.T.D., an honorary member of the National I Club Board, Elmcrest Country Club, and the Wildcat Run Country Club in Estero, Fl.
Memorial donations may be given to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, the Cedar Valley Humane Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
