Virginia E. Foster, 82, of 5823 1st Ave. SW died on Friday Jan. 30, 2009 at her home after a long illness. Services at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Monday.
Survivors include two sons; Larry (Cindy), and Jeff (Jackie) and a daughter, Anna “Cathy” Foster all of Cedar Rapids, two sisters, Betty Eden of North Liberty and Lucy Drake of Marion and one brother, Gerald Johnston of Pinellas Park, Florida. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Scott (Rose) Foster, Kyle, Courtney and Alesha Foster; eight great grandchildren, Aaron, Jared, Melanie and Zachary Foster, Corbin and Alexis Ketelsen, and Damien and Dominique Anderson She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Michael, one sister and six brothers.
Virginia was born on Feb. 27, 1926 in Anamosa, the daughter of William and Stella Coleman Johnston. She married
Clayton S. Foster on July 5, 1945 in Anamosa. He died in 2000. Virginia was a homemaker. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, especially with her husband to his military reunions, stuffed musical animals and spending time with her beloved family.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Mercy in Virginia’s name.

Fred Wesley Foster Jr., 83, of 2119 D Ave NE, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in his home following a long illness. Funeral Mass with military honors will be held at 10 AM Saturday in St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Osterhaus will officiate. Entombment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 3 to 7 PM Friday with a Vigil service beginning at 6 PM.
Survivors include his wife Eileen, their children Patricia (Edward) Glenn of Louisiana, Missouri, Thomas (Kathy) Foster of Urbandale, Iowa, Luanne Hill of Louisville, Colorado, and Linda (Dave) Crowley of Iowa City, Iowa, a sister Donna (J.) Graham of Enterprise, Mississippi, two brothers Steve (Lil) Foster of Canyon City, Texas, and Ted Foster of Marble Falls, Texas, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers John and Stanley.
Wesley was born December 12, 1925 in Cedar Rapids to Fred and Wanita Keve Foster Sr. He married
Eileen M. Kennedy on September 3, 1949 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. He was a WW II US Navy veteran serving on the USS Sturgis as a baker. He was a tool and dye maker at Fruehoff Trailers, Iowa Manufacturing, and retired from Rockwell-Goss. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed painting, bird watching, was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan, and walking his black and gold dachshund “Hawkeye”.

Thomas E. Easton, 68, of Marion, passed away Tuesday February 12, 2013 at home surrounded by family.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday February 16, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Matthew Catholic Church by Fr. David Beckman. Visitation will begin after 9 A.M. at the church. Inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ed is survived by his wife Sharon, his mother Margaret, daughters; Melanie (Mark) Svoboda, Theresa (Peter) Peterson-Easton, seven sisters; Jean (Michael) Starr, Mary (Jon) Hart, Rita (Bruce) McCall, Nancy (Brian) Heineman, Sue (Craig) Pettit, Dee (Paul) Youngblut, Jane (Lee) McFee, two brothers; Mike (Carolyn) Easton and Frank (Paula) Easton. Also surviving are four grandsons; Devon, James, Dylan, Jacob and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Thomas Edward Easton was born May 26, 1944 in Centerville, IA to Thomas H. and Margaret J. Easton. He served with the U.S. Navy and later worked over 39 years with Martin Marietta Sand Division. On March 12, 1970 he married
Sharon Hibbs in Santa Ana in Orange County, CA. Ed, a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, was a quiet man that dedicated his life to serving his family.

Hazel M. Enfield, 90, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Meth-Wick Community surrounded by her loving family. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service, beginning at 10:00 AM at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A reception and luncheon will follow at the Cedar Memorial family center.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Charles Enfield of Cedar Rapids; a daughter Kathy Glowacki of Iowa City; 1 brother Frank Doerr of St. Louis MO; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Cynthia Abraham, and 2 brothers.
Hazel Enfield was born November 30, 1922 in Beresford, South Dakota the daughter of Harry and Gertrude (Bache) Doerr. After graduation Hazel became a Registered Nurse. She was employed at Mercy Medical Center. She also worked for Frank Magid Associates as a coder for many years. Hazel married
Charles Enfield on March 20, 1948 in Centerville, South Dakota. Hazel was a life long member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and traveling. Hazel will be greatly missed by her family and friends for her warmth and kindness to others, and her endless supply of smiles and love.

Kenneth Lee Erenberger, 81, a resident of Garnett Place died there peacefully on Friday March 9, 2013. Services at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday.
Survivors include two daughters, Kerry (Douglas) Kimm of Norway, and Patti (Peter) Sprague of Mt. Vernon; two sons Greg (Debbie) of Walford and Steve of Swisher; two brothers Vernon (Kay) of Cedar Rapids and Robert (Beverly) of Marion. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rae Jean and a brother Donald.
Ken was born on May 3, 1931 in Johnson County, the son of Joseph and Lillian Trpkosh Erenberger. He married
Rae Jean Schorg on July 24, 1952 in Ely. Rae Jean passed away in 2005.
Ken was the owner and operator of Kenny’s Appliance and Service in Cedar Rapids for over 32 years, retiring in 2004. Ken was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ely, the Ely City Council, Linn County Civil Defense and a 30 plus year veteran of the Ely Fire Dept.
Ken enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, travel with Rea Jean and especially the time spent with his beloved family and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Ely Fire Dept. in Ken’s name.

Roger R. Fink, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died at the Hospice House of Mercy, Saturday, June 25, 2011. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew Catholic Church by the Rev. David Beckman. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church one hour prior to the service. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn, of 52 years; children, Kayla (Todd) Davis of Cedar Rapids and Susan Smith of Milwaukee, WI; brother, Robert (Donna Jean) Fink of La Mirada, CA; sister, Donna Mae Ham of Long Beach, CA; and one grandson, Joshua Smith.
Roger was born February 21, 1934 in Racine, MN to Ray and Marjorie Fink. Roger married
Kathryn Keenan on November 28, 1959 in Waterloo. He was employed by John Deere for many years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Melvin C. Edaburn

Melvin C. “Mel” Edaburn, 80, died Thursday March 21, 2013 at St. Lukes Hospital in their Hospice Unit. Services at 2:00 PM on Sunday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 12:30 PM on Sunday. Private family burial at Campbell Cemetery. Per Mel’s’ request the casket will be closed at all times. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Melvin was born December 7, 1932 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Orval and Ruth (Wright) Edaburn. Melvin grew up on the family farm near Toddville. He had a great love for the out of doors. After graduation he served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Upon discharge he worked 28 years at FMC Link Belt and ten years at Rockwell Goss until retirement.
On June 4, 1955 he married
Patricia Workman. They were blessed with three children, Dale (Lori), Diana, and David (Mary). Mel is also survived by four grandchildren, Whitney, Jack, and Kirby Edaburn and Chelsea (Andrew) McCallum, a brother Richard and many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Diana.
In 1971 Melvin was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Christian Witnesses and was an active member for 44 years.
After his illness he had been rehabbing at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion. “The family would like to thank the staff for their Care.”
