Jacqueline Joan 'J.J.' Feld, 31, of 4404 Hickory Wind Lane, Marion, died Tuesday, February 12, 2002, in Mercy Medical Center of complications from pneumonia. Services at 10 AM Friday at the Chapel of Mercy, Mount Mercy College, Cedar Rapids with Reverend David O'Connor of All Saints Catholic Church officiating. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday with a wake service beginning at 7 PM.
J.J. is survived by her parents, Drs. Thomas and Donna Feld of Marion; her brother Bill of Scottsdale, Arizona; and her maternal grandparents Manley and Charlotte Jorstad of Morris, Illinois: an aunt and uncle, Dr. Joan McGuire and husband James of Peru, Illinois; and an aunt Judy Feld of Carroll, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Ed and Elaine Feld; an uncle, Jay Edward Feld, and an uncle Bill Feld.
J.J. was born in Dubuque, Iowa, on April 8, 1970, and moved with her family to Cedar Rapids in 1977. She graduated from Linn Mar High School in 1990, and she has been employed at Roush Products and Aegon. She was an active volunteer in campus ministry at Mount Mercy College and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
A memorial fund in her name has been established at Mount Mercy College.

John J. Fattig
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on June 30, 1924

John J. Fattig, 80, of Carefree, AZ formerly of Cedar Rapids died Sunday, December 12, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center following a long illness. Services: 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Springston of First Baptist Church, Church of the Brethren will officiate.
Surviving is a daughter, Lynn Vosatka and husband Glenn of Cedar Rapids; five sons, Larry Fattig of St. Louis, MO, David Fattig and wife Janet of Alamo, CA, Douglas Fattig and wife Sara of Harmony, MN, Daniel Fattig of Minneapolis, MN, and Timothy Fattig and wife Meredith of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Hazel Rammelsberg and husband Harold of Cedar Rapids; seven grandsons; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Gilbert.
John was born June 30, 1924 in Cedar Rapids the son of Jess and Eva Farmer Fattig. He attended Coe College and was a graduate of the University of Iowa, BSC; grad school CPCU, CLU. John was a member of the Phoenix, AZ Elks Club and the Cedar Rapids Elks Club, the Kiwanis Club of Carefree, AZ managing the Care Closet and Flee Market. He was a member of Pi Omega Pi Fraternity, the National Honor Society in Business Education, and completed ILA certified course. He was associated with United Casualty Insurance and was former owner of Mountain Insurance in Steamboat, CO. He was formerly President and Owner of Advance Services, Inc. in Carefree, AZ He served in the U.S. Air Force During WW II.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Juanita O. FitzSimmons
Born in Viola, Iowa on June 21, 1915
Departed on July 29, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

** Juanita O. "June" FitzSimmons, 93, of the Westridge Care Center died there on Tuesday July 29, 2008 after an extended illness. Services at 11 AM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Vicki Standley will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday.
Survivors include two daughters, Lillie William James of Center Point and Waunita Clifford Snow of Poplar Grove, Illinois. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, David, Kevin, Bradley, Howard, Clifford Jr., Bryan, Paul, George, Craig, Brenda, Rick and Nancy; 36 great grandchildren, 33 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 7 brothers, 3 sisters, 5 great great grandchildren and 1 great grand son.
June was born on June 21, 1915 in Viola, the daughter of Fountain and Nora Moss Pitts. She married George L. FitzSimmons on Jan. 8, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky. He died in 2000. June worked at Rockwell-Collins for 25 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion where she also did quilting and was a member of Mary Circle. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening and especially time spent with her friends and beloved family. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Memorial donations may be given to St. Lukes Hospice or Camp Courageous in June's name.

Edith M Furry
Born in Hedrick, Iowa on November 16, 1915
Departed on February 25, 2002. Resided in Mechanicsville, IA.

Edith M. Furry, 86, a resident of the Mechanicsville Nursing Center, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, February 25, 2002, at the Nursing Center following a short illness. Services at 3 PM Thursday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Dr. Herbert Isenberg of the Westminster Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 2:30 PM on Thursday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include a son David and wife Judy Furry of Mechanicsville, two daughters Nancy Boehm of Houston, Texas, and Dreanna Nuss of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband, a brother Donald Boughan, two sisters Geraldine Boughan and Evalee Kepler, a daughter Barbara Furry, and a son-in-law Edward Nuss.
Edith was born November 16, 1915 in Hedrick, Iowa to Charles and Mary Scott Boughan. She married Lawrence M. Furry on April 25, 1933 in Cedar Rapids. He died November 11, 1964. Edith was a administrative assistant at Harnischfeger's for over 25 years. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for over 40 years and a member of Chapter DK of P.E.O. She also volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital for many years.
Edith was a loving and caring mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Lorraine I. Fitzsimmons
Born in Garwin, Iowa on March 7, 1916
Departed on July 21, 2002. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Lorraine I. Fitzsimmons, 86, a resident of the Meth-Wick Community died there Sunday, July 21, 2002, following a short illness. Services at 10 AM Wednesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Jamison of Christ Church Presbyterian will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 9 AM on Wednesday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include a daughter Penny Saville and husband John of Lawton, Oklahoma, a son William Fitzsimmons and wife Betty of Madison, Wisconsin, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, and Brother.
Lorraine was born March 7, 1916, in Garwin, Iowa, to Peter and Mary Jorgensen. She married Max E. Fitzsimmons on August 18, 1940 in Cedar Rapids. He died January 29, 1991. She was a secretary at Guaranty Bank and Trust Company for many years retiring in 1979. She was a member of Central Park Presbyterian Church where she had served as an Elder, and was active in Amber Grotto and enjoyed their functions.
A memorial fund has been established.

Robert W. Fisher
Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 29, 1957
Departed on August 10, 2002. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Robert Bob Wallace Fisher, 44, of 2326 Upland Dr. SE died Sat. Aug. 10, 2002 at the Coralville Reservoir of an accidental drowning. Memorial services at 11 AM on Wed. at Christ Episcopal Church. Rev. Kenneth Ornell will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Karen, three children, Nicholas Marc 12 yrs., Anna Catherine 9yrs. and Evan Michael 6 yrs. all at home. His parents, Lawrence Wallace Fisher, USMC, Col.. Ret. and Esther Callahan Fisher of Lynchburg, Virginia, two sisters, Catherine Fisher Pelletier of Washington, D.C. and Beverly Fisher Miller of Weyers Cave, VA., his mother and father in law, Shelby H. and Thomas E. Boyce Sr. of Spartanburg, SC., brother in laws, Eric Miller, Roger Pelletier and Thomas E. Boyce Jr., five nieces, Lydon and Sydney Pelle
tier, Shannon Buckman, Jordan Miller and Meredith Boyce.
Bob was born on Oct.29, 1957 in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church where he taught Sunday School Class and volunteered as the nursery coordinator. He was active in YMCA sports and was a youth soccer coach. He was an active PTA member at Monroe, Grant Wood Elementary and McKinley Middle Schools. He was employed at Duane Arnold Nuclear Center as a Nuclear Engineer. Bob was a wonderful husband, devoted father and a friend to all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be given to the Fisher Children's Educational Fund, made payable to Smart 529.

Robert R. Fernandez

Robert R. Fernandez, 77, of 1905 Western Dr. SW died Friday Aug. 23, 2002 at his home after a long illness. Private family services were held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, two sons, Wesley of Cedar Rapids, Robert Barker of Punta Gorda, FL., three daughters, Catherine Burgess and husband, Jim of Cedar Rapids, Priscilla Stamp of Loveland, Col., June Warren and husband, Bob of Cedar Rapids and two brothers and 8 sisters. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Bob was born on Aug. 14, 1925 in Cedar Rapids the son of David and Fanchon Bidell Fernandez. He married Ruth A. Hudepohl on Nov. 8, 1952 in Williamsburg. Bob was a millwright, master mechanic and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorial donations may be given to the Kidney Foundation in Bob's name.

Bruce L. Fishwild
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on February 16, 1922

Bruce L. Fishwild, 80, of 3317 Rosewood CT. NE died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital after a short illness. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, 2 brothers, Kent and his wife, Lois, and Owen and his wife, Elaine, both of Clinton. He is also survived by many loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bruce was born on Feb. 16, 1922 in Cedar Rapids. He graduated form Clinton High School in 1939 and from Coe College in 1943. He married Helen Dietrich on Nov. 16, 1947 in Cedar Rapids. Bruce was employed at the Gazette, from 1942 as a reporter, Sunday Editor and City Editor. He retired as Financial Editor in 1990. Bruce served in the Air Force in WWII. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Gazette 25 Year Club, The Society of American Business Editors and Writers and the 29th Bomb Group Association. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
