Elbert V. Hart, 90, of 1208 39th St. NW died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center after a long illness. Services at 11 AM on Friday at the Oakland Church of the Nazarene where there will also be military rites. Rev. Paul Miller will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral home from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday and at the Church after 10 AM on Friday.
Survivors include his wife, Lois, a son, Terry Loree of Cedar Rapids, five daughters, Evelyn Gary Majavec of Grand River, Brenda Robert Hart, Peggy Gray, Cindy Garry Lamphier all of Cedar Rapids, Patricia Richard Voss Bach, of Walker and a brother, Golden of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his parents in law, William and Violet Brown, five brothers, Clarence, Roy, Emmett, Wilson and Alva, six sisters, Martha Llewellen, Dora Thomas, Blanche Hancock, Letha Headley, Ora Riebold and Alma Collins; one granddaughter, Stephanie Bach and two great grandsons, Bailey Williams and Joshuah Roberts. Elbert was born on March 2, 1913 in Turley, MO., the son of Ray and Ida Bray Hart. He married
Lois M. Brown on Nov. 20, 1947 in Manchester. Elbert worked at Wilson and Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Oakland Church of the Nazarene, the AFL-CIO Union, a former member of American Legion Hanford Post No. 5 and served in the Army during WWII in North Africa.
Elbert is now home with the Lord. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Elbert's name. Military rites by American Legion Hanford Post No. 5.
Edwin D. Houser

Edwin D. Houser, 68, 511 Greenfield St. NE died Monday, March 22, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. At his request he was cremated and there is no visitation. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at King of Kings Lutheran Church, Saturday, March 27, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. The Rev. Leon Hauser will officiate. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Sharon; a son Gary Houser and wife Dawn of Portland, OR; a stepson, Stuart Slaymaker and wife Kathy of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Kyle and Chad Slaymaker, Caitlyn, Jacob, and Kamryn Houser; and his brother, Robert Houser and wife Naomi of Keota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Margaret; a half brother, Frances; a sister, Phyllis Jean and a grandson, Jordan Slaymaker.
Ed was born February 11, 1936 in Cedar Rapids. He grew up in Marengo where he graduated from Marengo High School in 1954. He received his degree in Engineering and his Master's Degree in 1964 from the University of Iowa. He enjoyed his career of 35 years at Rockwell Collins and retired in 1996. He is a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church. Ed's hobbies were woodworking and photography, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Margaret L. Hansen, 84, of the Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa, formerly of Cedar Rapids died at Crestridge on Monday, March 29, 2004 after a long illness. Services at 11 AM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Terry Seufferlein will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wed.
Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy Pariseau of Rapid City, SD., Donna Walderbach and husband, Jim, Barbara Turner and husband, Phillip and Pamela Hansen all of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, John and Marvin Jr., two sisters, Betty and Catherine and three grandchildren, Phillip Eugene Turner, John Charles Turner and Arlene Theresa Walderbach.
Margaret was born on May 14, 1919 in Stuart, the daughter of Charles and Dottie Johnson Keeler. She married
Marvin C. Hansen on Dec. 6, 1938 in Davenport. He died in 1983. Margaret was a homemaker. A memorial fund has been established.

Patricia A. Harris, 73, of 5325 Winnebago Ave, Marion, died Friday, April 9, 2004, in St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Services at 10:30 AM Monday in

Survivors include her husband of 57 years William, two daughters Kathleen Carr and husband Robert of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Peggy Buol of Monticello, Iowa, two sons William Harris of Phoenix, Arizona and Thomas Harris and wife Lois of Phoenix, Arizona, two brothers Harvey Niles and wife Jean of Marion, and Robert Niles and wife Margaret of Cedar Rapids, five granddaughters, and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Betty Bruna.
Patricia was born June 17, 1930 in Cedar Rapids to Harvey and Anne Dolezal Niles. She married
William S. Harris on October 24, 1946 in Cedar Rapids. She was a mother and homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Monticello.

A combined Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for Daniel and Marian Headrick. The Rev. Ivan Nienhaus will officiate. Marian died April 19, 2004 and Daniel died on March 18, 2006 at St. Clara's Manor, Lincoln, IL. Inurnment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Turner West Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Daniel and Marian are survived by a daughter, Sondra Bob Stensby of Northbrook, Il, a daughter in law, Karen Headrick of Springfield, Illinois, eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. They were preceded in death by their parents, a daughter, Sharon Headrick Herrald and a son, Daniel Headrick.
Marian was born September 10, 1915 in Monticello to Joseph and Elizabeth Valanta Egan. Daniel was born on August 10, 1916 in Bloomfield, IL to Clay and Martha Blakely Headrick. They were married
on June 22, 1937 in Cedar Rapids. Daniel was an Engineer for the CRANDIC Railroad and Marian was a homemaker.

Edna L. Hansen, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, died there Tuesday, April 20, 2004, following a short illness. Services at 11 AM Saturday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Rev. James Adix will officiate. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday and at the church after 10 AM on Saturday.
Survivors include a son David Hansen and wife Tracy of Dothan, Alabama, a daughter Berneda Sprecher and husband Dennis of Salt Lake City, Utah, four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
Edna was born June 13, 1910 in rural Jackson County, Iowa, to Herman and Wilhelmina Buschman Thiede. After graduating from high school she taught in rural schools for 7 years. She married
David C. Hansen on June 6, 1935 in Clinton County, Iowa. They moved to Cedar Rapids in 1951 and joined Our Savior's Lutheran Church, which was very special to her. She was a member of Our Savior's for over 50 years and a member of the Martha Circle at the church. She was a member of the Marion Women's Club. She had worked for Collins Credit Union, and at Younkers.
Memorial contributions to Our Savior's Lutheran Church youth program are preferred in lieu of flowers.

James E. Harris, 81, of 1241 Woodland Court NW, died at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, Sunday, April 25, 2004 after a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Richard Ament. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Turner West Funeral Home Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; two daughters, Sharon Jochim of Omaha, NB and Linda Larry McVay of Cedar Rapids; a son Jim Diane Harris of Atkins; a sister Betty Clarence Coomer of Sheffield, IL; fourteen grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Rick Jochim.
Born July 13, 1922 in Cedar Rapids, he married
Kathryn Lane there on June 20, 1942. He worked for the Cedar Rapids Fire Department for 28 years, retiring in 1977 as the District Chief. Jim was a member of the Iowa Firemens' Association, the American Legion, the V.F.W. Post 788, and St. Jude Catholic Church.
