WATERLOO -- Luella M. Stromer, 92, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.
She was born May 15, 1908, in Readlyn, daughter of Henry and Sophia Wehling Klemp. She married Roy Stromer on Jan. 6, 1927, in Readlyn.
Mrs. Stromer and her husband farmed in the Bremer County area. She worked at Allen Hospital in the housekeeping department for many years until her retirement.
Survived by: a son, Marvin of Ames; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; and a sister Phyllis Warnke of Frederika.
Preceded in death by: a son, Virgil; two sisters, Viola Schweer and Dorothy Forberg; and two brothers, Reinhart and Woodrow Klemp.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Readlyn. Friends may call for an hour before services Wednesday at the church. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Denver, is in charge of arrangements.

HUDSON -- Mary A. Anderson, 84, of Hudson, died Friday, May 4, 2001, at home of natural causes.
She was born March 16, 1917, in Lake City, daughter of Bert and Sue Holder Dougherty. She married Frank N. Anderson on June 3, 1939. He died April 2, 1989.
Mrs. Anderson was the owner and cook at Mary's Cafe, Hudson, for 18 years, retiring in 1986.
Survived by: two daughters, Sharon Reid of Hudson and Sandy Adams of Roland; two sons, Terry of Ames and Carey of Bettendorf; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Roy and Russell Dougherty, both of Sac City.
Preceded in death by: a son, Dennis; and a sister, Marjorie Dougherty.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hudson United Methodist Church, with burial in Hudson Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo.

CEDAR FALLS -- Chad David Grant, 25, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at his home.
He was born Nov. 3, 1975, in Oelwein, son of David A. and Linda M. Schuler Grant and Robert and Marlys Carey. He married Amee M. Frost on May 18, 1995, in Cedar Falls.
Mr. Grant was a service technician with Gubbels Heating and Cooling, Waterloo.
Survived by: his wife of Dunkerton; three sons, Cody D., Cole and Chase, all at home in Cedar Falls; his parents, David A. and Linda M. Schuler Grant of Cedar Falls and Robert and Marlys Carey of Waterloo; three sisters, Angela Schluetter and Brooke Carey, both of Washington, and Dana Grant of Cedar Falls; three stepsisters, Lisa McMillan, Dawn Shepherd-Schott and Denise Christensen, all of Waterloo; a stepbrother, Jerry Shepherd of Waterloo; and paternal grandparents, George and Margarite Grant of Huntsville, Ala.
Preceded in death by: maternal grandparents, Ernest and Betty Schuler; and paternal grandparents, Hubert and Lillian Carey.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein. There will be no visitation.
A memorial fund will be established.

WATERLOO -- Robert Allen Johnson, 46, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Allen Hospital of cancer.
He was born May 22, 1954, in Waterloo, son of Gerald O. Johnson and Regina Murray.
Mr. Johnson was a 1972 graduate of Columbus High School. He worked for many years in the paint division of the University of Northern Iowa Physical Plant.
Survived by: three brothers, John O. of Waterloo, James D. of Tulsa, Okla., and Gerald W. of Beaumont, Texas.
Preceded in death by: his parents; and an infant brother, James Lee.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with inurnment at a later date in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 3 p.m. Legion of Mary rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

WATERLOO -- Monica E. Galleger, 90, of Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, died Friday, May 4, 2001, at Covenant Medical Center from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
She was born May 9, 1910, in Pocahontas, daughter of Frank and Olive Pearl Lyst Fisher. She married William J. Galleger on Feb. 9, 1931, in Blair, Neb. He died Feb. 20, 1989.
Mrs. Galleger was employed with W.T. Grant Co. and sold Stanley Home Products in Waterloo. She and her husband owned and operated Bill's Tap in Garnavillo and Family Hardware in Mechanicsville.
Survived by: two sons, Robert of McGregor and Gerald of Fairbank; two daughters, Beverly Joblinski of Waterloo and Karen Railsback of Canyon Lake, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Preceded in death by: a son, LeRoy; a granddaughter; a brother, Arnold Fisher; and three sisters, Gertrude Larue, Margaret Suvkoboke and Irene McNaughton.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

WATERLOO -- Winifred Debe Jochumsen, 94, of Friendship Village, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.
She was born March 21, 1907, on a farm near Dike, rural Black Hawk County, daughter of Nis Nissen and Anna C. Terkelsen Ostergaard. She married Dr. Fred R. E. Debe on June 13, 1927, in Cedar Falls. He died Feb. 28, 1956. She then married Edward A. Jochumsen on Dec. 30, 1972, in Waterloo. He died Dec. 6, 1973.
Mrs. Jochumsen worked as a dental bookkeeper and receptionist for Dr. Debe and Drs. Davenport and Roudebush, retiring in 1972. She was also a charter member and the first president of the Waterloo Lionels.
Survived by: a son, Fred R. Debe of Waterloo; a stepson, Dr. Edward Jochumsen Jr. of Cora, Wyo.; a stepdaughter, Ann Hobert of Primeville, Ore.; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marcella Meeker of Cedar Falls.
Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Kearns, Husiman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball.

CEDAR FALLS -- Waneta Alberta Behrens, 81, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at the Cedar Falls Western Home of natural causes.
She was born July 23, 1919, in Colo, daughter of Thomas Lowman and Hazel M. Johnson Handsaker. She married Harry E. Behrens on April 5, 1942, in Cedar Falls. He died April 17, 1969.
Mrs. Behrens was a secretary for the Cedar Falls Parks Department for 17 years, retiring in 1985.
Survived by: a son, Bill L. of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Barb Larsen of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Arends of Cedar Falls.
Preceded in death by: an infant son; a granddaughter; and a sister, Lois Grimstad.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

WATERLOO -- Florence E. Henry, 96, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Country View, of natural causes.
She was born Aug. 6, 1904, in Waterloo, daughter of Albert and Esther Willier Henry. She married Paul Henry in 1928, in Waterloo. He died May 7, 1956.
Mrs. Henry had been employed by Sieberts Laundry.
Survived by: a sister, Gladys Stealy of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: a brother in infancy; and a sister, Goldie Potter.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Country View, with burial in Mount Vernon Township Cemetery, rural Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Parrott and Wood Family Funeral Care, and for an hour before services Tuesday at Country View.
