Bradley Dean Hofer, 49, 147 Eastview Dr. NW died Friday, May 6, 2005 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 PM to 8 PM at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. An informal gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Cedar Memorial Family Center.
Surviving in addition to his wife Lynda are a step-daughter, Christina Niesz of Cedar Rapids; his parents, Alfred and Iona Hofer of State Center; a sister, Lori Hofer of Daytona, FL; and two brothers, Ronald Hofer and wife Elaine of St. Louis, MO and Earl Hofer and wife Kathy of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Brad was born February 14, 1956 in Iowa City the son of Alfred Lee and Iona Mae Couch Hofer. He married
Lynda Kay Holvenstot on November 23, 1996 in Cedar Rapids. Brad worked for Swift and Co. in Marshalltown in 1985 and 1986, for Columbia Auto in St. Louis, MO from 1987 to 1989, was the manager at Boubin Brake and Muffler from 1989 to 1998 and was chief mechanic for Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery from 1998 to the present. He loved to play softball, go fishing and play golf with his friends. Brad loved life, and he liked to help those people that needed it. He loved watching NASCAR, St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and he loved working on cars.

Terry M. Heald

Terry M. Heald, 67, of 2440 Hillview Drive, Marion, passed away Friday in his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Marion, officiated by the Rev. Howard Chapman. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Monday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home and after 10 AM Tuesday at the church.
Survivors include his father Don Heald of Cedar Rapids, wife Peg Heald of Marion, children Julie Heald of Cedar Rapids and John Heald and wife Jeanne of Marion, and granddaughter Abigail. He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Heald.
Terry was born in Cedar Rapids on October 23, 1938. He graduated from Franklin High School and Coe College. Terry began his teaching and coaching career at M-F-L Schools in Monona, where he met his wife, Peg. They were married
in July, 1966. He led three Bulldog baseball teams to the state tournament and captured the title in 1976. In 1979, Terry moved to Marion where he continued to teach math and coach baseball and football. Terry retired in 1999, but continued his life-long devotion to students by teaching part time at Kirkwood College. He was a member and past president of the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association and a member of its Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the Marion High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.
Terry was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed attending local sporting events, golfing, woodworking, meeting the guys for breakfast, and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
A memorial fund has been established in Terry's name.

Beatrice E. "Bea" Huber, 89, of 1320 Litchfield Dr., Hiawatha, formerly of Marion, and Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Promise House following a long illness. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Ed Bateman will officiate. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Surviving to honor her memory are two daughters, Gloria Fletcher and husband Bob of Marion, and Nancy Denton and husband Jim of New Braunfels, Texas, a son Don Huber and wife Roxie of Cedar Rapids, a sister Joyce Erdahl and husband Al of Monticello, Iowa, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a brother in law Herb Huber of Wellman, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband, a brother Ralph Herr, and three sisters Helen, Marie, and Cleo.
Beatrice was born September 8, 1916 in South English, Iowa to Earl and Ethel Bouslog Herr. She married
Hal L. Huber on September 26, 1936 in Galena, Illinois. Hal died October 3, 1988.
Bea had been a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting, and was an excellent cook. She greatly loved her grand and great grand children. She was very fond of the neighborhood kids.

Bonnie Lou Hopkins, 69, of Toddville, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at her daughter Becky's home in Cedar Rapids after a courageous battle with cancer. Survivors include 2 sons, Michael and Dan, both of Cedar Rapids; 3 daughters, Teresa Simons of Hiawatha, Rebecca Railsback of Cedar Rapids, and Renee Warner of Sparks, NV; 3 sisters Naomi Meek of Cedar Rapids and Betty Kurth of Lisbon, and Waneta Kurth of Colorado; 2 sisters-in-law, Lois Harris of Cedar Rapids and Joan Hopkins of Anamosa; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald, a brother, and 2 great grandsons.
Bonnie was born September 14, 1936 in rural Marion to Louis and Hazel Brown Harris. She married
Donald D. Hopkins on October 20, 1957 in Morrison, Illinois. She loved her work at Wal Mart. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Edward A. Hein, 69, of 310 Aaron Ct. SW. in Swisher died Friday Oct. 13, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City after a courageous battle with leukemia. Survivors include his wife, Catherine, two daughters, Cynthia Hein of Cedar Rapids, Linda Hein-Harrison Blaine of Lakeville, MN. two sons, David of Marion and John of Milwaukee, WI. and a brother, Rolland Dorothy of St. Charles, ILL. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Andrew, Mitchell and Morgan Hein; Paige, Jaime Anne and Emmy Hein; Dexter and Maxwell Hein-Harrison and a great granddaughter, Erica. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ed was born on March 3, 1937 in Cedar Rapids, the son of George and Henrietta Werner Hein. He married
Mary Catherine Colony on Aug. 18, 1957 in Cedar Rapids. Ed was a supervisor at Longview Fiber for 36 years, retiring in 1992. He later worked for seven and a half years for Schanz Furniture and Refinishing in South Amana. During his employment there he started his own woodworking shop and sold his furniture through Schanz. Ed enjoyed gardening, farming, fishing with friends in northern Wisconsin, working in his lawn and especially time spent with his beloved family and friends.

Gerald Dennis Harrington, 69, of Addy-338 Neta Dr, Marion, died Thursday October 18, 2006 in St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Turner East Funeral Home & Crematory.
Survivors include his significant other of 24 years, Dennis Weller, two daughters, Melissa Harrington and husband Timothy Bosanoz of Chicago, Illinois, Lucy Harrington of Greensboro, North Carolina, a sister, Mary Broeker of Naperville, Illinois, 3 grandchildren, Daniel Cole Bosanoz, and Brenna and Cole Harrington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and ex wife, Mary Lou Harrington.
Gerald was born September 16, 1937 in Des Moines, the son of Daniel and Margaret Carpenter Harrington. Gerald was in banking. He was a member of Cedar Rapids Jaycees, NWACP, Board of Directors of Theater of Cedar Rapids, and Seminal Valley, and was very active with civil rights. He enjoyed boating, sailing, gardening, cars and loved the theater and acting.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Theater of Cedar Rapids, Cedar Rapids Aids Project, National Diabetes Foundation or the charity of your choice.

George Edward Hunt, Sr., 71, of 4139 Lakeview Dr. SW died October 21, 2006 in his home surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness. Services: 2 PM Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Eternal Love.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen, his sons George Hunt Jr. and Jason and wife Linda Hunt. His five grandchildren; Kaylee, Brandon, Spencer, Brock, and Emma Hunt. Also his Mother, Emma Hunt of Unionville, MO. Three brothers Basil Pat of St. Louis, Ronald Cheryl of Princeton, MO, Donald Carol of Newtown, MO; two sisters Betty Thomas of Golden Valley, AZ, Melanie David of Stet, MO, and many nieces and nephews. His father Roscoe Hunt, preceded George in death. He will be missed deeply.
George was born October 6, 1935, in Webster City, to Roscoe and Emma Ferrell Hunt. The family moved to NE MO where George was raised on a farm and graduated from Newtown High School in 1955. George moved to Cedar Rapids in 1956, and worked for Penick & Ford for 36 years. George served his nation in the US Army station in Germany and was recalled to duty for the Berlin Crisis in 1961.
On February 29, 1964 he married
Maureen Wilson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. George was an avid sports fan especially the St. Louis Cardinals, NASCAR, and Jefferson High School J-Hawks. George was a charter member of the C.R. Jefferson Booster Club. Serving as president in 1972-73. And is a member of the Booster Club Hall of Fame. He was also past president of S.W. Community Credit Union and the Grain Mills Local 100 Union. He was a member of Cedar Rapids American Legion Post # 727.
George and his family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Cowden, Dana Fowler ARNP, their nurse Lori, and all the special people in their office. Also a grateful thank you to the late Dr. Dennis for his wonderful care for many years.
