Winifred Margaret Wagner Hoffman, 80, a resident of Evergreen Estates III, died there Sunday, December 23, 2007, following a long illness. Services at 11 AM Friday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Gerald Condon will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, and at the chapel after 10:30 AM on Friday.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years Jack, daughter Nancy Oddo and husband Bill of Atkins, Iowa, son Mark Alan Hoffman of Christchurch, New Zealand, grandson Christopher Oddo and wife Anna of Palo, great-granddaughter Sydni Maria Oddo, brother Ed Wagner and wife Peggy of Centerville, Iowa, sister Alberta Bernhard of Reno, Nevada, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Lowell, and two sisters, Sister M. Thomas Wagner O.S.F., and Mary Reilly.
Winifred was born May 30, 1927 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Henry and Sylvia Elder Wagner. She married
John L. "Jack" Hoffman on February 4, 1950 in Cedar Rapids. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and at Mercy Medical Center

Edward J. Harford Jr, 81, of 148 17th Avenue SW, died at Mercy Medical Center, Friday, December 28, 2007, after a long illness. Memorial Services: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Valley Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 2204 26th Street NW by Terry Houser Sr. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Survivors include his stepmother Wilma Harford of Cedar Rapids, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Edward was born on January 25, 1926 to Edward and Mary Harford. He was a member of Pioneer Avenue Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Eddie was totally dedicated to serving Jehovah and researching the Bible, teaching others about Him and giving them the same hope for the future as he had. Eddie had been a driver for Baker Paper for many years. He was interested in collecting old toys and stamps. He will be remembered as a friendly and positive individual who will be missed by all who knew him.
His friends would like to thank the nurses and staff at Mercy Medical Center for the loving care and kindness shown to Eddie during his stay at the hospital.

"Linda E. Herren, 57, of 1085 County Home Rd., Whittier died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. Memorial services at 11 AM on Sat. at Christ Episcopal Church. Rev. Barbara Schlachter will officiate. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 4 to 8 PM at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Billy, a son, Brian Angela of Iowa City, a daughter, Amy Herren at home and three brothers, David Donna Howard, Bob Anne Howard and Stephen Jinnette Howard all of MA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Linda was born on Dec. 16, 1950 in Natick, MA., the daughter of Richard and Mary-Ellen Rogers Howard. Linda received her nursing degree from the Faulkner Hospital School of Nursing; she later graduated from Kirkwood Community College and received her bachelors and masters degree from the University of Iowa.
She married
Billy A. Herren on June 26, 1971 in Wellesley, MA. Linda was an R.N. at St. Luke's Hospital for 27 years and most recently worked at United Fire Group for 5 years. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and did volunteer work for St. Luke's Hospice for several years. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Jamaica, reading and time spent with her friends and beloved family.
Please, the family requests no flowers; memorial donations may be given to St. Luke's Hospice, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the American Cancer Society in Linda's name.
Pauline E. Heins

Pauline E. Heins 91, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center in Hiawatha, died there Sunday, June 8, 2008, following a long illness. Services at 1 PM Thursday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. John Caughron of the First Christian Church in Center Point, Iowa, will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM on Wednesday and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Thursday.
Survivors include a daughter Judy Hatch and husband William of Marion, and a son Gary Heins and wife Mary of Center Point, Iowa, five grandchildren, Donald, Dale, and Christopher Hatch, Paula Hooper, and Toni Heins, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale Heins, and a grandson Shawn Heins.
Pauline was born May 18, 1917 in Walker, Iowa, to Arthur and Estella Murphy Barry. She married
Dale Heins on October 20, 1938 in Walker. He died in 1980. Pauline owned and operated the This-L-Do restaurant in Center Point from 1951 to 1964. She then worked at Donut Land in Cedar Rapids for 6 years.
Pauline never met a stranger and always had a smile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include his mother Robin Harris, his father figure for 10 years Troy Pender, both of Cedar Rapids, a half brother Adam Harris and half sister Amber Harris both of Burlington, Iowa, a brother Todd Pender, and three uncles Edward Sherry Voelpel, Jason Tammy Voelpel, and William Jen Smith all of Cedar Rapids.
Arless was born December 17, 1990 in Cedar Rapids. He was to be a junior at Jefferson High School this next school semester. He enjoyed video games, being around people, and especially enjoyed going to school.
Arless touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Dorothy Rose Hathaway

Dorothy R. Hathaway, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died July 6, 2008 at Manor Care Center, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Pastor Ken Koske of Twin Pines Baptist Church will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday, July 8, 2008, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her sons, Mark Hathaway and wife Ada, and Larry Hathaway and wife Kim all of Cedar Rapids; her daughter Carol Norris and husband Larry of Kansas; as well as several grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her son Richard A. Hathaway, and sister Mary Law.
Dorothy Rose Hathaway was born April 25, 1921 in Solon, Iowa the beloved daughter of Albert and Blanche Peshek Zabransky. She was united in marriage to John G. Hathaway on October 10, 1939. She worked in the family home for many years. She was a member of the Knights of Pythias. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs. She also enjoyed flowers and gardening, playing cards with friends, and time spent with family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed.
