Aaron D. Harris, 24, of Cedar Rapids the son of David and Rhonda Harris died Saturday, December 26, 2009. He was born October 7, 1985 in Loveland, CO.
Services: 9 AM Wednesday December 30, 2009 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by Rev. David Grandon. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dunkard Cemetery in Midway, IA.
Survivors include his parents, Rhonda and David of Toddville; Brothers, Brian Harris (Monique) and Justin Harris, both of Cedar Rapids; Sister, Megan Daugherty (Todd) of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are maternal grandmother Rosemary McMurrin and paternal grandmother Lois Harris, niece and nephews, Alyssa, Alex and Mason Harris and Dakota, Chase and Carter Daugherty.
Aaron worked at Casey’s Convenience Store in Cedar Rapids.
Aaron was loved by all who knew him.

Irene T. Haupert, 78, of Coralville, formerly of Washington, died December 12, 2009 at Latern Park Care Center following an extended illness. Memorial mass will take place at 10:30 AM, on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Rev. Ivan Nienhaus will officiate. Friends may call at the church after 9:30 AM on Thursday. Inurnment will take place at Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery, Van Meter, Iowa. Arrangements entrusted to Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, 319-393-8000.
Surviving are her siblings Marcella Reed of Washington, and Mark (Holly) Haupert of Sigourney; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant sister.
Irene was born September 28, 1931 in rural Keokuk County, Iowa the daughter of Frank and Tresie (Highberger) Haupert. She served in the United States Army as a nurse from 1960 to 1981. She was formerly a member of St. James Catholic Church in Washington. She will be greatly missed by her family.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations are made to Iowa City Hospice, or the National Kidney Foundation.

Scott Ross Heath, 47, died December 11, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at the River of Life Ministries, 3801 Blairs Ferry Rd NE, Cedar Rapids, on Friday, December 18 at 7:00. There will be a private inurnment.
The son of Dr. Douglas and Christine Heath, Scott was born in West Union, Iowa on November 12, 1962. The middle of 3 children, Scott grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; he was graduated from CR Washington High School in 1981 and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids in 1988. Due to his caring attitude and extensive knowledge, Scott was an award winning salesman at Slumberland and Smulekoffs; he was employed by Cedar Memorial Park and Funeral Home and most recently was a financial advisor at Covenant Benefits Inc.
Scott was married
to Shirley L. Rezac on June 22, 1985. Scott and Shirley had 2 daughters, Kellie Elizabeth (age 16) and Michelle Victoria (age 14). Spending time with his family was very important to Scott as was his membership in the River of Life Ministries, where he served in the Healing Room. Family Sundays included church, dining, and exploring the music and reading sections of a local book store. The Wind and Fire Ministry was also very important to Scott in the past 2 years. A life-long learner, he enjoyed driving and camping and was taking flying lessons this year.
Scott is survived by his wife and their daughters, his parents, his stepmother Kathi, his brother Dr. Thomas (Darlene), sister Laura (Bryan Dietsch), step-sisters Jaime, Terri and Corey Heath, and 7 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Virginia Heath.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
Richard L. Holst

Departed on December 4, 2009. Resided in Marion, Iowa.
Richard L. Holst, 62, of 1420 40th St. Place in Marion died Friday December 4, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center of cancer. Services at 1:00 PM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where there will also be military rites. Friends may call at the Chapel after Noon on Monday. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two brothers, Kenneth (Dee) of Center Point, Roger (Lois) of Masonville and a sister, Janet (William) Andrews of Independence. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Richard was born on July 26, 1947 in Independence, the son of Floyd and June Larson Holst. He married
Bridget A. Bennett on July 24, 1982 in Cedar Rapids. She died in 2004. He worked at Ralston Foods for 35 years, retiring in 2009. Richard proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Military rites by VFW Post 788.

Leon V. Hindman, 76, of 405 Wiley Blvd NW, died Tuesday November 24, 2009 in his home from a long illness. Funeral Mass: 10:30 A.M. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids by the Rev. Phil Thompson. Burial: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel from 5-8 p.m. A rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m.
Survivors include is wife of 53 years, Colleen, his children, Leon Hindman of Westminster, Colorado, Laurie Hindman (Duane) Saari of Black Hawk, Colorado, Cheryl Hindman (Cliff) of Allen, Texas, Donald Hindman of Towson, Maryland, John Hindman (Melanie) of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Kristine Sexton (Bill) of Ankeny, Iowa, Nick Hindman, Mark Hindman and Michael Hindman (Megan) all of Cedar Rapids and a sister, Carol Taylor of Sioux City, Iowa. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Jay Hindman and a daughter, Anne Mildred Hindman.
Leon was born October 2, 1933 in Onawa, Iowa, the son of Claude and Mildred Sammons. He married
Colleen Thibodeau on February 1, 1956 in Sioux City, Iowa. Leon was employed with Rockwell Collins for 33 years as a Systems Analyst /Circuit Board Designer retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the V.F.W. and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, camping, working in his shop, and spending time with his family and friends.

Sandra Luanne Hilton, 59, of 6704 Boulder Dr. NW. died Wednesday November, 18, 2009 at her home after a short battle with cancer. Services at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at the Westview Cemetery in LaPorte City at 2:30 PM on Saturday. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday and at the Chapel after 10 AM on Saturday.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Schulte, one son, Chad (Leah Metz) Hilton and two daughters, Candice Hilton all of Cedar Rapids and Jennifer (Brent) Raue of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her mother, Joyce Hilton of La Porte City, three sisters, Susan (Dean) Middagh and Shirley Hilton all of Cedar Rapids and Mary (Robert White) Hilton of Sarasota, Florida; and two brothers, Kenneth (Pam) Hilton of Redwing, Minnesota and Gary (Lori) Hilton of Wichita, Kansas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Andrew, Alex and Selena all of Cedar Rapids and Trever of Colorado Springs, Colorado and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Sandra was born on September 21, 1950 in Waterloo, the daughter of George and Joyce Bonoden Hilton. She graduated from LaPorte City High School. Sandra married
Wilbert W. Schulte on January 26, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She worked at Wilson-Farmstead Foods for 22 years, later was the owner and operator of Billy Magoo’s Bar for 18 years and most recently was the office manager at Bayne School and Office for 13 years.
Sandra enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
