David "Deacon" Iamarino, 65, of 1211 Belmont Parkway NW, died Friday, December 14, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics as a
result of a head injury. Services: 9:30 a.m.
Wednesday at Cedar memorial Westside Chapel by the Rev. Linda Livingston of Ascension Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include two brothers, Joe Iamarino of Cedar Rapids, and John Iamarino of Chula Vista, CA; and a half-sister Melissa Anderson of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Helen Anderson; his half-sister, Cyndi Anderson; and a half-brother, Karl Anderson.

Deacon was born on January 22, 1942 in Cedar Rapids. He was employed at St. Luke's Hospital for over 40 years, retiring in 2004.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Fatima Mae Igram
Born in Fayette County, IA on June 27, 1916

Fatima M. Igram, 91, passed away on Tuesday May 27, 2008, at Northbrook Manor after an extended illness. Services: 2:30 p.m., Thursday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Burial: Muslim National Cemetery. Visitation will be today at 1:00 p.m.
Fatima is survivied by a daughter, Emney Yehia Shousher of Oregon, Ohio, a son, Mohamed Sally Igram of Cedar Rapids, daughters-in-law, Aziza Igram of Cedar Rapids, and Jamile Igram of Toledo, Ohio, 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
She is also survived by sisters, Ishie Leo Petersen of Olin, Emney Semelroth of Cedar Rapids, Salha Hamad of Bethel, CT, a brother, M. Bob Kay Hamed of Cleveland, Ohio, and sisters-in-law LaVonna Hamed and Lucille Hamed of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hassan, two sons, Abdallah and Kalid "Joe"Igram, her parents, her brothers, Abe and Emmett Hamed, and sister, Lila Omar.
Fatima was born June 27, 1916, on a farm in Fayette County, Iowa, to Hussein and Sheriffe Hamed. She married Hassan A. Igram on January 31, 1932, in Cedar Rapids. She was the last surviving member of the founders of the Islamic Center of Cedar Rapids. Her family thanks all those who participated in her care the last few years. She will be dearly missed.
Memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association, St. Luke's Hospice or the Islamic Center of Cedar Rapids.

Maidul Islam
Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh on February 23, 1981
Departed on November 19, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Maidul Islam, 27, of Cedar Rapids, died November 19, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from an auto accident. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.

Survivors include his wife Becky; mother Maheda Islam and brother Mazruq Islam both of Bangladesh; mother and father in law Paul and Deb Hanson of St. Louis, MO; brother in law Jared Hanson of St. Louis, MO; and sister in law Kait Hanson of Ames.

He was preceded in death by his father, Majidul Islam.

Maidul Islam was born February 23, 1981 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, the son of, Majidul and Maheda Islam. He was a graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids, where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He was united in marriage to Rebecca Hanson on December 20, 2003 in Omaha, NE. He was employed for 4 years at Yellowbook. He was a diehard fan of the Liverpool Football Club and their anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. He greatly enjoyed time spent with his family, friends, and co-workers. Maidul was a loving husband, son, and friend to many, who will be greatly missed by all. ZAX 768.

Dorothy "Dodie" Rohwedder Barnett Inglis

Dorothy “Dodie” Rohwedder Barnett Inglis, 92, of Cedar Rapids died at the Meth-Wick Community on September 6, 2012. Memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Chapel. Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Wyoming Iowa Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy was born December 31, 1919 in Wyoming, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Emma Levsen Rohwedder. She graduated from Wyoming High School in 1937, and from the University of Iowa in the school of business in 1941. After working as a secretary in Iowa City, and then in the Los Angeles area, she returned to Cedar Rapids, and took graduate hours in Education.

She then taught in Keithsburg, IL. There she met and married C.E. “Barney” Barnett. Their son, James R. “Jim”, was born April 22, 1947. After Barney’s death in 1959, she moved back to Iowa and taught fourth grade in Marion, Iowa for 20 years. Since her retirement, she remained active with church activities, bridge clubs, and PEO.

Forty years a widow, she married Alex Inglis of Wyoming, IA. He died November 1, 2004. Her extended families (Barnett and Inglis) were large in number, so family connections were always a source of pride and joy to her. She and her late cousin, Berwyn Glaze, amassed a genealogy of the Levsen family, which led to their making two trips to Germany to visit relatives on the small island of Pellworm in the North Sea and on the mainland. Dorothy took pride in being able to speak German while there. In recent years she distributed the Rohwedder Genealogy as well.

Survivors include: daughter-in-law, D’Arcy Barnett, and granddaughter Katherine Barnett; stepsons and step-daughters, Bruce Barnett (Jean), Barrington, IL; Barbara Barnett Palmer Thomas, Senath, MO; Esther Inglis Taylor (Lon), Cedar Rapids; Mary Inglis Zahradnik (Vern), Central City; and Mike Inglis (Cindy), Wyoming, IA; and many step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jim; her husbands, C.E. Barnett and Alex Inglis; her parents; and her brother, Robert “Bob” Rohwedder.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

Ann O'Donnell Ilten

Ann O’Donnell Ilten, 50, of Nashville, TN, died Sunday Oct 17, 2010 in Jacksonville, FL following an accident. Friends may call from 2pm to 5pm Sunday Oct 24 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10am Monday Oct 25 at First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids with Rev. Ted Miller officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Ann was born in Cedar Rapids on Oct 5, 1960 to Michael and Jean O’Donnell. Ann enjoyed an idyllic childhood in Cedar Rapids, growing up with a large family and many good friends. At 16, Ann moved to Troy, NY to attend Emma Willard School as her grandmother, Gigi, had before her. Ann went on to attend Smith College in Northampton, MA and the University of Iowa.
Ann volunteered in the campaign to elect Congressman Tom Tauke in 1979 and served on his staff on the House Subcommittee on Aging until 1991. Ann was proud to have worked on many pieces of legislation and speeches that will forever be a part of the Congressional record. In 1991, Ann joined the first Bush White House serving on the Commission on Aging and the Dept of Labor. She later became a lobbyist for the United Way.
On a holiday trip home to Cedar Rapids, Ann discovered new love in an old friend. Ann married Doug Ilten on Nov 15, 1997 in Cedar Rapids and moved to Nashville, TN to pursue their dreams in the music industry. Over the years, Black & White Backline provided instruments to bands like Kool & the Gang, Jeffrey Osborne and KC and the Sunshine Band to name a few and developed many lasting friendships. Ann was heartbroken at Doug’s death in 2007 and was comforted by her other love, her many pets.
Ann is survived by her brother, Michael (Tiffany) O’Donnell, nieces Devon and Luciana, goddaughter Alexandra Lederer and many, many loved ones. She also leaves behind her “kids” – dogs Nikki and Abbie and cats Ebony, Jaco, Keith, Louie and Sammy. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Founders’ Fund at the Indian Creek Nature Center.

Jane M. Ilten
Born in Newhall, Iowa on June 4, 1924
Departed on February 11, 2009. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Jane M. Ilten, 84, a resident of the Meth-Wick Community, died Wednesday February 11, 2009 in the Woodlands following a long illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jonathan Offt. Visitation will be today from 4-7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel and after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Eugene, her children, Steven (Daniella) Ilten of Merlin, Oregon, Barbara (Marlan) Morse of Center Point, Oregon, Jay (Barbra) Ilten of Holy Cross, Iowa and Jeff (Terri) Ilten of Cedar Rapids, a sister, Janet Powell of Cedar Rapids, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Jane was born June 4, 1924 in Newhall, the daughter of George and Anna Peterson Wheeler. She married Eugene Robert Ilten on December 10, 1944 in Cedar Rapids. June was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in the Missionary and sewing group. Jane was a caring and loving person who touched many lives. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Mercy or Trinity Lutheran Church.
