Lillian Feyerabend Jiroutek, 102, of Northfield, MN, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died July 18, 2008 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault, MN of congestive heart failure. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, July 21, 2008 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Thomas E.S. Miller of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, at the chapel on Monday. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include Robert Jiroutek of Des Moines, Cynthia Dunlop of Nerstrand, MN, Karen Bonser of Waterloo, and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Albert Jiroutek, and two sons Vernon and Eugene Jiroutek.
Lillian Feyerabend Jiroutek was born September 7, 1905 in Johnson County, Iowa the beloved daughter of William and Frances Skala Feyerabend. She was united in marriage to Albert Jiroutek on October 16, 1924 in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and the Witwer Senior Center. Lillian worked for many years as Head Cook at Kreb's Dutch Girl Restaurant in Cedar Rapids. Family, friends, and hundreds of patrons enjoyed her home-cooked meals. Lillian loved to travel and see different places in the US.
A special thanks to those in the last remaining years of Lillian's life who helped her, visited her, and kept her in their prayers. She misses you all.

Willis A. "Will" Johnson, 83, of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, in St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 PM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Rev. Karen Young of the Lovely Lane United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after noon on Saturday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his two sons, Ed Jean of Hiawatha, and Chuck of Cedar Rapids, and three grandchildren, Natalie of Chicago, Mackenzie and Andrew of Hiawatha. He was preceded in death by his parents and in 1999, his wife Margaret.
Willis was born on February 3, 1925 in Cedar Rapids to Andrew and Helen Lamp Johnson. He graduated from Blue Island High School in Blue Island Chicago, Ill. He attended Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana where he was a member of Delta Tau Fraternity, and served in the Naval Air Corp during WWII where he was stationed at Glenview Naval Air Station in Illinois. He married
Margaret Dossett on June 7, 1947 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. They moved to Cedar Rapids where Willis began his career at Eddy Paper Company which was purchased by Weyerhaeuser Paper Company. He held various sales and administrative positions before retiring in 1989.
Willis enjoyed home projects, woodworking, auto repair, and games of chance. He loved his family, taking special joy in experiencing his grandchildren's activities. Willis was a proud, steadfast gentleman who always placed his family's needs ahead of his own. His love, dependability, and reliance will be greatly missed.
The family expresses special thanks to the Health Care Staff at St. Luke's 5 East, and to Dr. James Boddicker for their tender care of Willis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Floods of 2008 Disaster Relief Fund in his name.

Alvin Dewayne Jones, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died June 30, 2008 at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth; his children Robert Jones and wife Pam of Solon, Raymond Jones and wife Phyllis of Cedar Rapids, Rose Bents and husband Donald of Cedar Rapids, and Phil Jones and wife Joan of Amana. Also surviving are his brother Gene Jones and wife Marie of Wenatchee, WA, his sister Donna Welsh of Iowa City, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Marion Jones, and a brother-in-law Leo Welsh.
Alvin Dewayne Jones was born April 12, 1930 in Troy Township, Iowa County, Iowa to Clarence and Barbara Tuttle Jones. He had received his GED from Kirkwood Community College, which he was very proud of. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth M. McHugh on June 23, 1957 in Logan, Iowa. He had worked for Electro Coating for many years. He enjoyed reading, and listening to country music. He will be fondly remembered, but greatly missed by those left to grieve his passing.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Alvin's name.

Deeanna Johnson, 57, of Marion, Iowa, left to be with the Lord Wednesday evening, January 14 at Winslow House in Marion following a lengthy illness. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 Wednesday, January 21 at New Covenant Bible Church with Rev. James Wartian and Rev. Bill Randles officiating. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 on Tuesday, January 20 and after 10 a.m. at the church. Deeanna is survived by her husband, Doug, two sons, Jamie Johnson and wife Kara of Springville and Kip Johnson of Iowa City, a daughter Anna Johnson of Marion, her two foster dads, James Anderson of Florida and Richard Felter of Cedar Rapids, Doug’s parents, Harold and Harriet Johnson of Cedar Rapids, four sisters, Connie Kruger (Gary) of Idaho, Judy Carver (Richard) of Vinton, Cindy Slagle (Jerry) of Kansas and Mickey Chmelar of Keota and a brother, Loyal Fish of Cedar Rapids.
Deeanna was preceded in death by her parents, her two foster moms, Esther Anderson and Rosemary Felter and a sister Kathy Shramek.
Deeanna was born June 15, 1951 in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Rollie and Betty (Mullinex) Fish. She married
Doug Johnson of July 12, 1975 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Deeanna loved the Lord witnessed by her care of children at New Covenant Bible Church for many years. This work suited her as she deeply cared for others. This care extended to animals as well especially dogs. She was a loving wife and mother and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Hannah K. Johnson, 98, a resident of Northbrook Care Center died there Thursday January 22, 2009 following a brief illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where friends may call after 12:30 p.m. until service time. The Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum from First Lutheran Church will officiate. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Burial: Strawberry Point.
Survivors include her sons, Eugene (Beverly) Johnson of Cedar Rapids, and Arthur (Ida) Johnson of Cedar Rapids, 8 grandchildren, Kim (Nick) Cappussi, Robin (Tom) Kenney, Shannon (Christina) Johnson, Kelly (Tammy) Johnson, Chad Johnson, Jeffrey (Nicole) Johnson, Wendy (Rod) Bunch and Stacy (Bryan) Johnson, and 13 great grandchildren, Kevin, Krystal, Nicholas, Christopher, Travis, Jeannette, Emily, Logan, Landon, Alex, Cameron, Abby and Natalie.
Her husband, parents, 2 sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
Hannah was born October 24, 1910 in Strawberry Point, the daughter of Sigmond and Mary Hildebrand Wolf. She married
Alva Marion Johnson on July 2, 1936 in Manchester. Hannah and her husband operated the concessions stand for five years in Backbone State Park. She worked for Raytheon in Oelwein, Raths in Waterloo and later moved to the Cedar Rapids area. She then worked for St. Luke’s Hospital in housekeeping and at Mercy Medical Center as a unit aid. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed sewing and gardening in her spare time. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends.

Marilyn L. Jonas

Marilyn L. Jonas, 85, of 1112 Woodlark Lane NW, died at St. Luke’s Hospital on Friday, March13, 2009, after a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel by the Rev. Robin Tyner of Stonebridge Church. Interment: Linwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include her children, Randy (Michelle) Jonas, Ron (Karole) Jonas, and Jamie (Yvonne) Jonas, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Ethan, Melanie, Spenser, Megan, Ryan, Emily, and Kylie; great grandchildren, Cassie, Caitie, and Courtney; and her special card playing friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell; and son, Ricky.
Marilyn was born July 23, 1923 in Oxford to John and Helen Tomash. She married
Russell Louis Jonas on March 6, 1955 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1995. Marilyn worked at Peoples Bank and Trust for over 34 years, retiring in 1988. She became a vice president in 1981. She was very proud of her accomplishments in banking and was a member of the Professional Women in Banking. She loved her family and was proud of them. She loved to watch her grandchildren in their various activities. She liked to play Bridge and Poker, and garden – especially her prize roses. She was a fan of the Hawkeyes and Cubs.
Marilyn will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors of St. Luke’s ICU, the palliative care team and Dr. James Bell for the wonderful care given to Marilyn.
Marilyn lived her life serving others and at the end of her life, during her hospitalization, she chose to trust Christ. The family is confident that she is enjoying God’s presence.
