Frederick Joseph Kosek, 86, of 1626 Maple Dr. NW, died Thursday, February 13, 2003, in his home following a long illness. Services will be at 3 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Larry Hayward of First Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids, will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 3 to 6 PM on Sunday and at the chapel after 2:30 PM on Monday.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Eleanor, four daughters, Leslie and Teena Kosek, of Cedar Rapids, Eleanor Arenz, and husband, David, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Kara Reese, and husband, Sam, of Des Moines, and a son, Kevin Kosek and wife, Debra, of Solon, ten grandchildren, and three cousins, Mary Ann Barry and Shirley Hanson, of Cedar Rapids, and Stanley Hanson of Los Angeles, California.
Frederick was born May 5, 1916, in Cedar Rapids to Frederick and Anna Keclik Kosek. He married
Eleanor M. Schneider on June 15, 1940, in Chariton, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa and Cedar Rapids Business College. He was the purchasing agent for W. R. Grace Cryovac Division before his retirement. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a great lover of classical music and had taught his family that same music appreciation.

Margaret Helen Knott

Margaret Helen Knott, 84, of 1800 6th Avenue S.E., died Thursday at Mercy Hallmar following a short illness. Private family services will be held Saturday afternoon at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home by Rev. Matt Noffke, First Congregational Church. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home for a visitation with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. Interment; Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving is a daughter Peggy of Cedar Rapids, a son Howard Knot and wife Nina of Cedar Rapids, a grandson, Dennis Knott and wife Suzanne of Robins and two grest grandsons, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Adelbert and Olive Collins Cornwell and 2 brothers, Gordon Cornwell and Robert Haffner.
She was born February 12, 1918 in Oskaloosa, Iowa and was married
to Louis Knott on October 14, 1940 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1993. She was a 1939 graduate from Grinnell College and then taught school in Hayfield, Iowa.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church, AAUW, Women's Club and the Welcome Wagon Club. She enjoyed reading and playing bridge having played with the First Thursday Bridge Club for many years. She also played round robin bridge with St. Luke's and Mercy Hospitals. Her family was very important to her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indian Creek Nature Center, Wickiup Hill Outdoors Learning Center and the Linn County Humane Society.

Mary Lou Kellner, 62, of 1244 29th Street NE, died Wednesday, August 28, 2002, at her home following a long illness. Services at 10 AM Saturday in St. Matthews Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Osterhaus officiating. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Friday with a Rosary service at 7PM and at the church after 9 AM on Saturday.
Survivors include her husband Louis, a son Jim and wife Jan of Cedar Rapids, three daughters Ann Kellner and Linda Smith both of Cedar Rapids, and Colleen Thompson and husband Paul of Spencer, Iowa, a sister Kay Kotowske and husband Jim of Oxford, Iowa, and four grandchildren, Aaron and Donovan Smith, Cassondra Thompson, and Makayla Kellner. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary Lou was born July 27, 1940 in New Hampton, Iowa to William and Lois O'Byrne O'Hollearn. She married
Louis G. Kellner on July 30, 1960 in New Hampton, Iowa. She had been a nurse at Sacred Heart Convent and Mercy Hallmar and with her husband owned and operated the Danish Maid Bakery from 1969 to 1994. She was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.

Six grandchildren, Elise and Alexsandra both of Cedar Rapids, Spencer and Kate of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, and Joey and Peter of Charleston, South Carolina. Three sisters Audrey Relder and husband Edward of Garland, Texas, Yvonne Toft of Hayward, California, and Letitia Grassi and husband Ron of Coralville, Iowa. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, and dearest friends, Marilyn Jarrard, Rita and Denny Best, and Donna Tebbe and Kim. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kimetha Ann, her parents, three sisters and one brother.
Sandra was born August 13, 1936, in Harper Iowa to Ignatious and Leona Grimes Peiffer. She was raised and educated in Ottumwa, Iowa, and has lived in Cedar Rapids since 1960. She married
Billy M. Kramer on March 4, 1966 in Cedar Rapids. Sandra has been employed with Rockwell Collins, Coralville since 1986. She was a member of IBEW Union 1634 and had served as Union Steward and Safety Representative. Sandra was instrumental with the implementation of ergonomics in the Coralville facility. She also spent time volunteering for many local organizations.

Gilberta Elizabeth Green Krueger, 91, a resident of Evergreen Estates #3 died there Friday July 12, 2002 following a brief illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Chapel Of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Glenn Hunt and Rev. Blair Frank will officiate. Friends may call on Turner West Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and after noon at the chapel on Monday. Turner West is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Karmen Shedenhelm of Cedar Rapids, two granddaughters, Cynthia Haring Tom of Cedar Rapids and Becky Copeland Garry of Cedar Rapids, and a grandson, Michael Shedenhelm Roxanne of Boone.
Also surviving are great grandchildren, Tyler, Ryley, Abigail Copeland, and Andrew and Christopher Haring.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin H. Krueger in 1973, a son in law, Gary A. Shedenhelm in 2001, her parents, infant son, Kirk Edwin, two sisters, Alice Gard and Mildred Moore, a brother, Merle Green and 3 infant brothers.
Gilberta was born July 9, 1911 in Toledo, the daughter of Harry B. Green and Jessie G. Crawford Green. She graduated from Grant High School in 1929 and attended Coe College. She married
Edwin H. Krueger on September 11, 1931 in Cedar Rapids. Gilberta was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, joining in 1920 and 50 plus year choir member. She was a charter member of Upstream Class, former Sunday School Superintendent and teacher with the church. She was active in Women's Society and helped in the planning of the Lenten meditations. Gilberta was a charter member and coordinator of New Encounters.

Arlo Ceylon Klein, age 78, of 64 Dartmouth Street SW, formerly of Waukon, went to meet his Lord on June 23, 2002 at home, following a battle with cancer. Services with Masonic rites will be at 10 AM Thursday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Will Jackson of Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday and at the chapel after 9 AM on Thursday.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby, a daughter Judi and husband Jon Sandler of Tampa, Florida, two sons Steven and wife Linda of Marion, and Kerry and friend Nadine Miller of Hiawatha, a sister-in-law Eileen Klein of Cedar Rapids, eight grandchildren, Amanda, Jennifer, Bryan, Joshua, Thomas, Molly, Chrystopher, and Brandina, three great grandsons, Corey, Nicholas, and Brandon, nieces and nephews, many cousins, and his pets Tigr and Sassy. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert, his mother, Mary, two brothers, Lawrence and Donald and a sister Gladys.
Arlo was born August 31, 1923 in Ludlow Township, Allamakee County, Iowa, the son of Albert H. and Mary E. Duvel Klein. He married
Ruby Cowell on August 31, 1957, in the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Iowa. He was a farmer in the Postville, Waukon area until 1961 when he came to the Cedar Rapids area. He was employed by Per Mar Security, Farmstead Foods and Wilson's. He was a member of the Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church, Marion Masonic Lodge #6, A.F. & A.M., and Past Worthy Patron of Marion O.E.S. chapter 183. He attended grade school at Ludlow #5 and graduated from Waukon High School in 1941. He liked to garden and always had lots of flowers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Joseph J. Karam, 61 of Beirut, Lebanon, died Thursday, May 2, 2002 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo of an apparent heart attack. Services at 12:30 PM on Sat. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Osterhaus will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Friday where there will be a vigil service at 7 PM. Survivors include his wife, Wadad, a son Marc, three daughters, Carla Pecinovsky of Ft. Knox, KY., Rania and Christel Karam, his mother, Mary Karam, three brothers, George, Michel, Tony, two sisters, Alice and Rose Karam all of Beirut, Lebanon. He was preceded in death by his father.
Joseph was born on Jan. 8, 1941 in Beirut, Lebanon, the son of John and Mary Karam. He married
Wadad Sader on Jan. 2, 1974 in Beirut. Joseph owned and operated a confectionary company in Beirut for many years. He was a devote Catholic and family man who will be greatly missed. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
