William George Keister, 61, of Hiawatha died on October 11, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, October 14, 2011 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.
Survivors include his wife Elaine of Hiawatha; four daughters, Caroll, Jasmine, Lisa, Sheena, all of Hiawatha; two sons, Jeremie of Waterloo; Benjamin (Katie) of Cedar Falls; a brother Ron (Janet) of Waterloo; a sister, Karen Rassmussen of Iowa Falls; and four grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents Lon and Pearl Wall Keister and first wife, Sondra Keister.
William George Keister was born on July 14, 1950 in Vinton, Iowa the son of Lon and Pearl Wall Keister. William and Elaine Hergert were united in marriage on April 24, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada. William was as an assembler at John Deere for many years. He loved history and could always complete the crossword puzzle the fastest. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, and most of all spending time with his beloved family and friends.

Malinda Gay Krizan, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died at the Woodlands at the MethWick Community, Monday, October 24, 2011. Services: 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Bob David of First Congregational Church. Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing. A visitation will be held at the chapel after 8:30 a.m.
Survivors include her husband, Harold; sons, Dennis Krizan of Leawood, KS, Ken Krizan of Coralville, Timothy Krizan of Tyler, TX, Daniel Krizan of Astoria, OR, and Kim Krizan of Hideaway, TX; sister, Norma Ruggles of San Dimas, CA; brother, Jim Lawton of Panorama City, CA; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn.
Malinda was born July 31, 1921 in Alden to Eugene and Eva Lawton. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a nursing degree. She was a member of First Congregational Church, the Mayflower Circle, Church Women United, Christian Women's Club, "Sonshine" Bible Study, "Joy" Religious Book Study Group, Optimist Club, United Nations Association, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Malinda volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital, Seminole Valley Farm and Village, and Brucemore.
Memorials may be directed to St. Luke’s Hospice.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at the MethWick Community for the compassionate care for Malinda.

Edna Mae Kint, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by Sr Linda Bechen. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home today from 4 to 7 p.m.
Edna is survived by her husband, Nick, of 63 years; children, Gregory (Coleen) Kint of Mt. Vernon and Janis (Scott) Netser of Cedar Rapids; grandsons, Landon Netser of Cedar Rapids, and Tim (Beth) Mosier of Glen Ellyn, Il; and great grandchildren, Riley and Payton. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Jeffrey.
Edna was born April 20, 1926 in Cedar Rapids to Edward and Lillian Kulhavy. She married
Leonard “Nick” Kint there on June 26, 1948. Edna worked at Quaker Oats, retiring in 1951. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
Memorials may be sent to the Hospice House of Mercy or the National Czech and Slovak Museum.
Merle M. Knapp

Merle M. Knapp, 92, of 1141 24th St. in Marion died there Sunday March 22, 2009 after a long illness. Services at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Paul) Herboldsheimer of Lisbon and Nancy (Norman) Lindley of Olin; and his twin brother, Earl (Opal) of Walker. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Irene Becicka of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, a brother, Louis and an infant grandson.
Merle was born on Nov. 14, 1916 in rural Linn County, the son of Ray and Elizabeth Kula Knapp. He married
Florence Odeen on June 1, 1938 in Anamosa. She died in 1967. He later married
Frances Locke on Feb. 17, 1968 in Coggon. She died in 1992. Merle was a life long farmer in Linn County. He enjoyed dancing at the local senior centers in Central City, Marion and Hiawatha. He also enjoyed trail back riding with family and friends.
Memorial donation may be given to St. Luke's Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Patrick Michael Karamitros

Patrick Michael Karamitros, 16, of 4272 Fox Meadow Dr. SE, passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 PM Friday in New Covenant Bible Church, 1800 46th St. NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Pastor Mark Eades will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Thursday in Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Surviving to honor his memory are his parents, Michael and Tamara Karamitros, his sister Katie, his two brothers Alex and Chris, his grandmother Bette Nelson of South Haven, Michigan, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many many friends.
Patrick was born March 21, 1994 in Cedar Rapids to Michael and Tamara (Nelson) Karamitros. He was a junior at Washington High School where he participated on the swim team, baseball team, tennis team, golf team, marching band, and jazz band. He was a member of New Covenant Bible Church. At the church he was a member of the Senior High Worship Team. He was to participate on a mission trip to Mexico that will now be dedicated to him. He was a life guard at Bever Pool where he saved two lives. He had just started working at the Mt. Vernon Rd HyVee. He also mowed lawns, did snow removal, and pet care in his neighborhood.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Shirley A. Kasey, 71, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday, October 3, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00–7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with a Celebration of Life at 7:00 pm. The Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer; Daughter, Tona Hepker (Steve) of Cedar Rapids; Son, Scott Kasey of Cedar Rapids; Grandchildren, Samantha and Sabrina Kasey; Sister, Maxine Monroe (Donald) of Macon, GA; Brother-in-law, Marvin Krehbiel of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Shirley Ann Warnock was born July 12, 1938 in Ottumwa the daughter of Ralph and Addie (Forbes) Warnock. She married
Elmer Kasey on June 7, 1963 in Cedar Rapids. Shirley worked for many years in the Cedar Rapids Community School district as a cook.
