Danny R. Klouda, 62, of Cedar Rapids died Thurs. April 9, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital following a brief illness. Graveside service at 12:30 P.M. on Monday, April 13th 2009 at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA just west of Des Moines. Survivors include his daughter Michelle Klouda, five grandchildren, a great-grandchild, his mother, Madelene Klouda, three sisters, Connie Redmond, Marlene Martin and Debbie Spores and a brother Terry Klouda. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Klouda and his sister Kathy Shahan. He served in the US Army during Viet Nam.

Toshiko Knoll
Born in Tochigi, Japan on December 13, 1934
Departed on April 4, 2009. Resided in Robins, Iowa.

Toshiko Knoll, 74, of 695 Shannon Dr, Robins, died Saturday April 4, 2009 in her home from a long illness. Memorial services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband Robert Devine Knoll, step children, Debora Manier of Branson, Missourri, and Douglas (Darcy) Knoll of Millersburg, Iowa, a brother, Masihito Shiohama of Tokyo, Japan, sister in laws, Margaret Nichols (Lod) and Carol Knoll of Cedar Rapids, Jane Knoll, Betty Knoll and a brother in law, Sam Knoll (Shirley) of Webster City, and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, a brother and a sister preceded her in death.

Toshiko was born December 13, 1934 in Tochigi, Japan, the daughter of Yokichi and Hana Shiohama. She married Robert Knoll in Cedar Rapids on May 9, 1986. Toshiko was employed at Rockwell Collins for 25 years. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards and a love for animals. She so loved her (babies) cats, Tuffy, Fluffy and Susie who lived to be 22 years old.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her laughter.

A memorial fund has been established.

George H. Klinkhammer

George H. Klinkhammer, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died at Mercy Medical Center, Tuesday, November 3, 2009. A Funeral Mass by All Saints Catholic Church will be held Saturday at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Rev. David O’Connor. Private Interment: Mt. Calvary cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post #727. A visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; children, Gail (Bill) Munsell of Wayzata, MN, Janis Gibson of St. Charles, MO, Jill Breidenbach of Hiawatha, Susan Bright, Nicholas (Susie) Klinkhammer and Molly (Steve) Bjornsen, all of Cedar Rapids, Lori Green of Jacksonville, FL, Lisa (Ron) Stark of Kansasville, WI, and David (Sheri) Klinkhammer of Chesterfield, MO; sister, Dorothy (Ed) Leuthner of St. Cloud, MN; 24 grandchildren, Bryan (Hayley) Munsell, Daniel Munsell, Kara Gibson, Christopher, John, and Kelly Breidenbach, Sarah (Tim) Jones, Jason (Kelley) Bright, Stephanie (Ray) Reilly, Emily and Allison Green, Mallory, Samantha, and Sean Stark, Jack, Emma, Connor, and Caroline Klinkhammer, Ryan, Andrew, and Jenna Klinkhammer, and Alec, Colby, and Lars Bjornsen; six great grandchildren, Aaron and Luke Jones, Andrew and Ava Bright, and Mason and Noah Reilly; and brother-in-law, T.J. Farris. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Eileen Farris.

George was born June 28, 1927 in Harlem, North Dakota to George and Mabel Cusick Klinkhammer. George married Dorothy Fotsch in Cedar Rapids on May 19, 1951. He retired in 1987 after 38 years with IBM. George was a WWII veteran of the Navy Seabees, a member of All Saints Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus #5677, and the American Legion Honor Guard. He was an active community volunteer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for cancer patients through the Anna Purna Ghosh Foundation or to the Indian Creek Nature Center.

Robert Lee Klinger
Born in Davenport, Iowa on March 26, 1935
Departed on November 14, 2009. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Robert Lee “Bob” Klinger, 74, of Cedar Rapids, retired President of Klinger Paint Inc., passed away at Westridge Care Center Saturday November 14, 2009. Services will be held at 10 AM Friday in First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ted Miller officiating. Private entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Bob was born March 26, 1935 in Davenport, Iowa the son of Leo and Helen Klinger. He graduated from Franklin High School and attended the University of Iowa and Coe College. He was a member of the El Kahir Shrine and Cresent Masonic Lodge No 25 A.F. & A.M. He was also a member of First Presbyterian Church and a long time member on the Board of Directors of the Cedar Rapids Baseball Club. Bob’s love of his life was his family and the family business. He enjoyed spending time in Colorado, playing golf, and following the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Surviving to honor his memory are his wife of 54 years Gloria, sons Rick and Doug (Kathy) Klinger of Cedar Rapids, son in law and grand-children Terry, Katie, and Macie Jones of Lorena, Texas, grand-children Marissa, Holly, and Bailey Klinger of Cedar Rapids, step-grandson Barrett (Kiley) Scorpil of Davenport, step great grandchildren Ava and Sam Scorpil of Davenport, and brothers Don (Joan) Klinger of Georgia, and Jim (Mary) Klinger of Cedar Rapids, and a half-sister Traci Johnson of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Helen Klinger, father and mother in law Vance and Lelia Coleman, and his daughter Suzanne Jones.

Bob’s family would like to thank Westridge Care Center, Hospice of Mercy, and former daughter in law Mary, for their loving care of Bob during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Bob and Suzanne may be sent to the MD Anderson Breast Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210-4486.

Gary L. Kamp
Born in Postville, Iowa on May 9, 1941
Departed on November 22, 2009. Resided in Marion, Iowa.

Gary L. Kamp, 68, of Marion, Iowa, died at St. Luke’s Hospital on Sunday, November 22, 2009, with family by his side. A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Monday, November 30 at 11 a.m. at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with a luncheon reception immediately following the service. Pastor Dave Lenth will officiate. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, November 29 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, or after 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Chapel. A private interment will occur at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Gary Lee Kamp was born on May 9, 1941, in Postville, Iowa to Margaret (Snitker) and Vernon Kamp. He married Dianne Besler on June 30, 1962, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. He worked for Smulekoff’s Furniture for 39 years, until his retirement in 1998. Gary loved Iowa Hawkeye football, gardening, collecting antiques, fishing, cooking for his family, and playing with his grandchildren. He was a hardworking and generous person with a good sense of humor; he will be deeply missed.

Gary is survived by his wife, Dianne Kamp, son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Shelley Kamp, and two grandchildren, Peter and Aleksandra, all of Marion; and his sisters, Karen Pearson of Marion, and Jolayne (Darrell) Winkie of Decorah; and his mother-in-law, Anna Besler of Marion.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ghosh and the Staff of Iowa Blood and Cancer Care, and St. Luke’s Hospice for the excellent care provided to Gary.

A memorial fund has been established in Gary’s honor.

Hazel L. Knott
Born in Delhi, Iowa on November 5, 1917
Departed on December 5, 2009. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Hazel L. Knott passed away Saturday December 5, 2009. She will be missed by family and friends more than words can say. Services at 10:30 AM on Monday at the Kenwood Park United Methodist Church. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 6 PM on Sunday.
She was born in Delhi on November 5, 1917. She went to school in Delhi and Lenox College in Hopkinton. She worked as a teacher until she started a family. Hazel went to work at Collins Radio in 1954. She retired in 1982 and spent to the next 20 years volunteering and taking care of grandchildren.
She spent the last 4 years at Keystone Cedars where she added to her family of friends. She left behind 3 children, Patricia Lahr and Carol Strong of Cedar Rapids and Gary Knott of Osage Beach, MO., grandchildren; Gretchen Morgan of Denver, CO., Erin Sturtz of Lake Zurich, IL., Weston Lahr of Sherwood, OR., and great grandchildren, Henry, Sylvie and Morgan; 6 wonderful in-laws, Jim Lahr, Steve Strong, Sheri Knott, Stephen Morgan, Jason Sturtz and Charlotte Ljungkrantz, and a sister, Aileen Anderson of Cedar Falls. She was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters, Mildred Gaddie, Hubert, Bob and Delbert Grapes, Letha Bacon, Bernita Gray and Wilma Harbach.
Hazel was an amazing mother, a more amazing grandmother, the hardest-working member of the family. Even after she retired from Collins Radio, she worked full-time volunteering for her church and other organizations in Cedar Raids. She was one of the Heroes recognized at the 4th of July celebrations in Cedar Rapids. She received volunteer awards from the governor and she was adored by her family.
Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in Hazel’s name.

Ronald N. Krambeer
Born in Clayton County, IA on February 3, 1937
Departed on December 12, 2009. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Ronald N. Krambeer, 72, of 4101 16th Ave SW Lot 49 A, died Saturday, December 12, 2009, in Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday in the Frankville, Iowa, Presbyterian Church. Pastor Paul Snyder will officiate. Interment in the Frankville Village Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and at the church in Frankville after 11:30 AM on Wednesday.

Survivors include his wife Carole, daughter Mary (David) Viktora of Omaha, Nebraska, 5 brothers Gordon (Mary) of Hiawatha, Thomas (Darla) of Lawrence, Kansas, Ned (Peg), Dennis (Peggy), and Jerry (Janice) all of Decorah, three sisters Dolores Hughes of Frankville, Shirley (Homer) Evert of New Hampshire, and Nona (Wayne) Stone of Lansing, Iowa, brother-in-law Jerry Anderson of Cedar Rapids, ten grandchildren, 18 Great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kathleen Sproston-Hooper, 3 great grandchildren Adrienna Schwengels, Riley Sproston, and Damani Viktora, son-in-law Ben Sproston Jr., brother Larry, nephew Brian, and brother-in-law Dick Hughes.

Ronald was born February 3, 1937, rural Clayton county, Iowa. He married Carole Anderson on July 31, 1968. He was employed as a roofer for Cedar Service Company for over 30 years. He had been a member of the Frankville volunteer fire department and had drilled water wells. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, dancing, and especially spending time with his family.

A memorial fund has been established.
