WATERLOO -- Lyle M. Hoffman, 73, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at his home of natural causes. He was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Waterloo, son of John and Avis Bond Hoffman. He married Helen V. Johnson Oct. 30, 1948, in Waterloo. She died Nov. 5, 1989. Mr. Hoffman worked for Sears for more than 32 years. Survived by: a son, John M. of Hudson; two daughters, Vicky A. Clemons of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kellie S. Weber of Waterloo; and five grandchildren. Preceded in death by: two brothers, Roy and Marian. Services: were 11 a.m. today at Parrott and Wood Family Funeral Care, with burial in the Garden of Memories. Memorials: may be directed to the Cedar Valley Hospice.
CEDAR FALLS -- Lucile Emily and Lilith Ashley Paulsen, infant twin daughters of Charles H. and Jennifer E. Cameron Paulsen, were stillborn Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Survived by: their parents of Cedar Falls; paternal grandparents, Tom and Gloria Paulsen of Cedar Falls; maternal grandparents, James and Deb Schall of Storm Lake, and Dennis and Vicki Cameron of Indianapolis; and maternal great-grandparents, Jesse and Millie McCoy of Fonda. Preceded in death by: paternal great-grandparents, Howard and Frances Brunskill, and Robert and Kathryn Paulsen; and maternal great-grandparents, Alva and Midge Cameron, and Dottie McCoy. LA PORTE CITY -- Theo B. Osborn, 82, of Willmar, Minn., formerly of La Porte City, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home, Willmar, of natural causes. She was born June 19, 1919, in Garrison, daughter of David and Elsa LaGrange Flickenger. She married Manford E. "Ozzie" Osborn on Dec. 25 ,1937. He died in 1990. Mrs. Osborn attended cosmetology school in Waterloo and was a self-employed beautician. She also had worked in sales at Nelson's Jewelry, Spencer, for more than 20 years. Survived by: a daughter, Dena Eichelberger of Willmar; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Dean Flickenger of La Porte City. Preceded in death by: a son, Bob; a great-granddaughter; and two brothers, Bill and Mel Flickenger. Memorial services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Warner Funeral Home, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, both in Spencer. Friends may call for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home in Spencer. CHARLES CITY -- James "Jim" Dean Clark, 66, of Charles City, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, Minn., of natural causes; survivors include his wife, Lois; a daughter, Cindy of Aurelia; a son, Scott of Charles City; four grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Zimmerman of Charles City; memorial services were 10:30 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, both in Charles City; Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, Charles City, was in charge of arrangements; memorials may be directed to the James D.
