Ronald Leonard, 51, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Hospice House of Mercy. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, immediately followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. by the Rev. William Harnish.

Ron is survived by daughter, Abigail Leonard of Eldridge; two sisters, Amanda Welsh and Jeannie Hamelink, both of Michigan; his grandmother, Doris Henning of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ron was born November 24, 1958 in Battle Creek, MI to Clifford and Marlene Leonard. He was a 1976 graduate of Delton-Kellogg High School. Ron attended ITT Technical Institute in Ft. Wayne, IN. Upon graduation, he moved to Cedar Rapids to work at Rockwell-Collins. He later graduated from Mt. Mercy College with a degree in Computer Science. In addition to Rockwell Collins, he was employed by Norand, and Intermac. Ron liked to boat, fish, and was involved in many outdoor activities. He will be remembered as a good friend.

Memorials may be directed to the Hospice House of Mercy.

Robert McClellan Lewis
Born in Belle Plaine, Iowa on December 26, 1917
Departed on March 28, 2010. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Service: Tuesday, March 30, 2010
Cemetery: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery
Robert M. Lewis, 92, of Cedar Rapids died March 28, 2010 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Sonda Kirksteatter of Olivet Presbyterian Church will officiate. Entombment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Surviving are his children Carroll E. Lewis of Van Horne, Karen (Richard) Schultschik, Gary A. Lewis, and Larry (Christine) Lewis all of Cedar Rapids, and Richard (Jackie) Lewis of Shellsburg; 11 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; one sister Dorothy Meyers of Richmond, CA; 3 sisters-in-law Louise Lewis of Texas, Dorothy Furler of Williamsburg, and Lucille Walters of Cedar Rapids; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ethel, and brothers Bennie, Arnold, Merritt, Richard, George, and Jack.

Robert McClellan Lewis was born December 26, 1917 in Belle Plaine the son of Benjamin and Nita (Stuckenbruck) Lewis. He was united in marriage to Ethel E. Walter on August 29, 1940 in Williamsburg. She preceded him in death in 2005. He was a truck driver for Hawkeye Oil for several years prior to retirement. He enjoyed camping with family and friends, and above all, time spent with his family. He will be greatly missed, but forever remembered by his family.

Memorial donations in Robert’s honor may be made to Hospice of Mercy.

Hubert George Lyman
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on January 16, 1923
Departed on March 28, 2010. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Hubert “Bud” Lyman, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died at home, Sunday, March 28, 2010.
Funeral Mass: 10;30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church by the Rev. Donald Klein. Burial: Mt. Calvary cemetery with military honors. A vigil service will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday where a visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years and childhood sweetheart, Dode; sons, Chuck (Isel) Lyman of Farjado, Puerto Rico and Gary (Bronwyn) Lyman of Cebolla, New Mexico; grandchildren, Joshua (Anjolene) Lyman, Jessi (Tim) Gerak, Joanne (Duffy) Snell, Jennifer (Jaime) Giraud, and Kyle (Larissa) Lyman; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, John and Pete Lyman.

Bud was born January 16, 1923 in Cedar Rapids to Ray and Esther Lyman. Bud entered the United States Army in 1943 and served in the South Pacific where he earned two Bronze Stars. He was a part of the liberation in the Philippines. He married Dorothy “Dode” Funkey on January 14, 1946 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a manager at Kings Concrete for 28 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion Hanford Post #5 and St. Pius X Catholic Church. Bud will be remembered as a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a true hero to his family – an example of integrity to all who knew him. Bud was known as “Uncle Trouble” by some of his nieces and nephews. In his spare time, Bud liked to boat and golf.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church, Camp Courageous, or Hospice of Mercy.

The family would like to thank Chelsea, Lyn, Cindy, Courtney, Sally, Kramer, and Shirley for the extremely special care given to Bud, as well as Dr. Anne Voigts, Dr. David Cowden, and Dr. Todd Noreuil.

Dale E. Lamphier
Born in Elkport on March 12, 1933
Departed on February 23, 2010. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Service: Saturday, February 27, 2010
Dale Lamphier, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cedar Valley Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. Arrangements are entrusted to Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores; children, Laura, Christine, Brenda, and David (Sherry) Lamphier; brother, Darold (Anna) Lamphier; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Reita.

Dale was born March 12, 1933 in Elkport to Clayton and Orpha Lamphier. He married Kay Klar in Grundy Center on June 7, 1958. She died in 1995. He then married Dolores on February 8, 1997 in Northridge, CA. Dale worked for Rocketdyne as a machinest working on the space shuttle program, retiring in 1990. He always said his work was “out of this world”.

Dale will be remembered as big-hearted and generous to all he knew. He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Jean Marie Lynch-Fauchier
Born in Cedar Rapids, IA on January 30, 1927
Departed on January 18, 2010. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Service: Friday, January 22, 2010
Jean M. Lynch- Fauchier, 82, passed away Monday January 18, 2010 in her home from heart problems and multiple myelomas. A Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday at All Saints Catholic Church by the Rev. David O’Connor. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Inurnment: private at a later date.

Those left to cherish her memories is a son, Dennis (Becki) Lynch of Cedar Rapids, and their children, Brenna (Todd) and Colin, a son, Kevin (Marie) Lynch of Mt. Vernon and their children, Jerod (Lori) and Lori (Zak), a daughter, Monica Lynch of Hendersonville, Tennessee and her son, Kyle (Laura) Rammelsberg of Bowie, Maryland and their son Conor. Also surviving are stepson, Steve (Jean) Fauchier and their children, Marie, Marla and Melissa all of Fort Wayne, Indiana, 4 step great grandchildren, step daughter in law Jenni Fauchier of Omaha, Nebraska and their son Cory.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Lynch in 1958, her second husband, Robert Fauchier in 2003, her parents, a sister, Kay and a step son, Dick Fauchier.

Jean was born January 30, 1927 to Edward and Clara Weber Koob in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from St. Wenceslaus High School and Mt. Mercy College. Later she worked for Iltens and Tage’s and was a Skaklee Distributor for many years. In 1951 she married Eddie Lynch at St. Wenceslaus Church. ZThey had three children, Dennis, Kevin and Monica. Eddie died in 1958 leaving Jean to raise their children. He was always the love of her life. In 1969 she married Robert Fauchier.

Jean enjoyed being a homemaker and was always a country girl at heart and happiest when she was out walking either at Koob Orchard or her sons orchard. She loved her birds, reading and flower gardens. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, St Annes Circle and All Saints Choir. Jean loved her kids, grandkids and enjoyed all the times they would visit and proud of their accomplishments. Mom you were always a tough old gal and kept your chin up right till the end always staying positive. You are an inspiration to all of us. We love and miss you.

The family would like to send a very special thank you to her neighbors, Ricky and Don who did so much for her when we were unable to be there for her.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers.

Irma Katherine Langhoff
Born in Atkins, Iowa on August 7, 1910
Departed on December 31, 2009. Resided in Marion, Iowa.

Irma K. Langhoff, 99, of Marion, died December 31, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital following a short illness. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church of Marion. Rev. Howard Chapman will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Private interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Surviving are her children Carol Rowley and husband Dick of Anamosa, Ralph “Bud” Langhoff and wife Darlene of Marion, and Janice Crow and husband Daryl of Watkins; 14 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 18 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ralph Sr.; a son Charles; great grandson Jarin Janey; sisters Edna, Hilda, and Irene; and a brother Harold.

Irma Katherine Langhoff was born August 7, 1910 near Atkins, the daughter of George and Emma (Kunstorf) Happel. She attended Newhall School. She was united in marriage to Ralph F. Langhoff on September 28, 1935 in Cedar Rapids. She was employed in food service at Marion Rural Schools. In 1960 she and Ralph started Langhoff Log & Lumber, where she worked for many years with her husband. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Marion, where she was involved in the Women’s Society, the Kitchen Band, and the Helping Hands organization by volunteering time to giving clothing out to those in need. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends, and time spent with her family. She will forever be remembered for her love of her family, and the great legacy she has left.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all Irma’s close friends at Hill Top Manor for their kindness and prayers, and to Dr. Bell and the entire staff of St. Luke’s Hospice.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Irma’s honor.
