Harold Scott Martin
Born in Fairfield, IA. on June 10, 1927
Departed on November 18, 2001. Resided in Belle Plaine, IA.

Harold S. Martin, 74, of Belle Plaine formerly of Cedar Rapids, died November 18, 2001 at his home after a short illness.
A Memorial service will be held at the Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine at 11:00 A.M. Friday November 24th. Lunch will be served at the American Legion Hall immediately after. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Harold was born on June 10, 1927 in Fairfield to Earl and Mildred McCormick Martin. After graduating from Fairfield High School in 1944, he joined the Navy for a tour of duty during WW II until 1947. Harold married Mildred Underwood on April 6, 1947 in Winfield. Before retirement Harold was employed by Hawkeye Refrigerated Service and other firms as a long haul truck driver. Harold and Mildred drove as a team for many years.
Harold was a member of the American Legion Post in Belle Plaine, and after retirement he did volunteer work at the Belle Plaine Community Center and the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center.
Survivors include his wife Mildred; a brother Donald of Fairfield; two daughters, Kathy Kocer and husband Robert of Cedar Rapids and Linda Jenkins and husband Jeff of Aurora, CO; six grandchildren, Julie Hall of Cedar Rapids, Mike Hall of Iowa City, Samantha Hall of Cedar Rapids, Jill O'Neill and husband Gene of Denver, CO, Aaron Spratte of Aurora, CO, and Ben Jenkins of Aurora, CO; and several nieces and nephews.
Harold was a wonderful husband and father. He was a kind and giving man who never missed an opportunity to tell a funny story or a favorite joke.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Harold's name. Cards may be sent to Mildred Martin, Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center, 1505 Sunset Drive, Belle Plaine, IA 52208.

Fred Joseph Petrick
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on April 6, 1907
Departed on November 27, 2001. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Fred Joseph Petrick, 94, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001 after complications from a recent stroke. Memorial services at 10 AM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Karen Beals and Rev. John R. Elliott, his son, will officiate. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Cedar Memorial funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday.

Fred was born on April 6, 1907 to Anna Vosmek and Joseph Thomas Petrick in cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a lifetime member of Olivet Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Grant High School in 1925 and Coe College in 1929. His teacher's certificate in Latin and Speech gave way to 40 years of service in the traffic departments of the Killian Co. and the Quaker Oats Co. in Cedar Rapids. He also worked with local theater groups, including the Cedar Rapids Community Theater. He helped organize a stock theatre company in the 1930's and operated the Barn Theatre at his home in the 1940's.

Fred married Catherine Hunt in 1930. They were later divorced. He married Emma Elliott in 1955, she died in 1991. He married Lorraine Brown in 1998. Although he might be remembered as a clown, Fred always considered himself a magician first. His love for magic evolved into the character of 'Mombo the Clown' with the 'Dr. Max Show', local weekdays TV program, 'Entertaining the Kiddies' from 1960 to 1981. Joyfully and charitably he also maintained a full schedule of appearances at schools, hospitals, shopping malls, birthday parties, churches, fairs and groups such as Cub Scouts and Bluebirds. He once taught a class on magic at the University of Iowa. He later was a mentor for the Clown Connection, a group of pastoral care volunteers of St. Lukes Hospital, as well as for many aspiring young magicians. He was also a member of the El Kahir Shriners and was active for many years in the Olivet Presbyterian Church as an elder.

Some of Fred's honors include the Coe College Alumni 'Award of Merit' in 1977. He was a Freedom Festival Parade 'Hero' of 1995. National recognition followed in 1995 as he joined an illustrious group of funny people in The Clown Hall of Fame in Delavan, Wis. including a plaque on their Wall of Fame. Fred continued his magic and clowning as an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Magicians.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, his six children, Stan Mary Petrick of Laramie, Wyoming, Joan Elliott Joe Green, John Cheryl Elliott, and Janice Elliott Bob Carson of Cedar Rapids, Evelyn Clifford of Florida, and Pamela Colgate Gary Lindberg of Tempe, AZ. Three step children, Sherry Gene Geiger of Iowa, Bonnie Andrews of MN. and Howard Peggie Reddick of Ill. 19 grandchildren, Ronald Jane Carson, Michael Chista Carson, Mark Julie Carson, Tim Lisa Carson, Chris Dennis Glover, and Coe Denny Molumby of Cedar Rapids, Joni Carson Bill Becker, Roger Clifford, and Robin John Smith of Florida, M. Susan Petrick, Cathleen Petrick, and Stanley Lisa Colgate of California, Ellen Petrick-Underwood and Jane Lavino of Wyoming, Shannon Deb Colgate and Stephen Colgate of Arizona, Stewart Colgate of Kansas, Brenda ElliottNeil Meyer of Colorado and Debbi Elliott Pat Crouch of Texas. 4 step grandchildren, Michael Jeanie Carson and Dan Jane Carson of Cedar Rapids, Heidi Sean Lindberg of Arizona and TravisRenee Lindberg of Ft. Bragg, NO. Carolina. 33 great grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren. His mother, Anna, father, Joseph, brother, Glen, wife, Emma and son in law, Charles Clifford preceded him in death.

Indeed, this remarkably gifted and humble man said, 'God has been good to me'. And he ended every visit as he ended every TV show with 'Take it easy, play safe, and be careful'. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the 'Make a Wish Foundation of Iowa, ' honoring Fred's Love for children.

Patricia Jane Orton
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on April 7, 1925
Departed on July 14, 2004. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Patricia J. Orton, 79, of 909 Wiley Blvd. NW, died at West Ridge Care Center, Wednesday, July 14, 2004, after a brief illness. Graveside Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Turner West Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a son Henry Orton of Cedar Rapids; a daughter and her husband, Kathryn Mike Macey of Aurora, Colorado; four grandchildren, Chris Lisa Orton, Matt Orton, Everett Tina Macey, and Andrew Hanson; and four great grandchildren, Hunter and Riley Orton, and Caleb and Colby Macey.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother Norman; and a sister June Sweeney.

Patricia was born April 7, 1925 in Cedar Rapids to Willian and Kathryn Pike Hanson. She married Charles Orton in Troy, Kansas on August 4, 1946. He died in 1990.

Patricia was a member of TOPS, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Frederick R. Nordgren
Born in Hamilton County on October 2, 1918
Departed on November 14, 2002. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Frederick R. Nordgren, 84, of Heritage Nursing and Rehab died there on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002 after a long illness. Services at 1 PM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories where there will also be military rites. Rev. Blair Frank Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday and at the Chapel after Noon on Monday.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, a daughter, Freda Williams and her husband, Terry A. of Cedar Rapids, a son, Gordon and his wife, Linda of Norway and two brothers, Frank Trampel of Webster City and Carl Trampel of Kamrar. He is also survived by two grandsons, Trevin Williams and Nickolas David Nordgren and two-step grandchildren, Brian Glass and Jill Tomash. He was preceded in death by his parent and a brother, Ervin.
Fred was born on Oct. 2, 1918 in Hamilton County, the son of Adolph and Freda Timmer Trampel. He married Dorothy A. Wilkinson on Nov. 1, 1946 in Des Moines. Fred was the owner and operator of Fred's Welding and Machine Shop in Farnhamville, he later worked at Goss and New Era and most recently until his retirement in 1982 at St. Lukes Hospital . He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, American Legion Hanford Post No. 5, the Ninetieth Division Association and served in the Army during WWII. Military rites by American Legion Hanford Post No. 5.

Hiram Edward ''Ed'' Musser
Born in Iowa City, IA on July 3, 1935
Departed on November 22, 2001. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Hiram 'Ed' Musser, 66, 4525 Westchester Dr. NE died suddenly at his home Thursday November 22, 2001. His family will be gathering to greet people from 4 to 7 PM Monday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. His body will be cremated.
Surviving in addition to his wife Mary Lou; are two daughters, Janine Musser of Cedar Rapids and Julie Allen and husband Jim of Jupiter, FL; a son, Herbert Musser of Swisher; one grandson; and three sisters, Tillie Albertson of Evansdale, Arlene Geesaman of Cedar Rapids and Darlene Vurrell of Ft. Smith, AK.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ed was born July 3, 1935 in Iowa City the beloved son of Ervin and Emma Corn Musser. He married Mary Lou Klopp on September 1, 1961 in Cedar Rapids. Ed was a printing pressman at Service Press and Litho for over 44 years until his retirement. He was a member of Central Park Presbyterian Church, the Graphics Communication International Union Local #M157 and served in the U.S. Army.
Memorials may be made to Central Park Presbyterian Church or to Camp Courageous Of Iowa.

Ronald Phillip McGee
Born in Cresco, Iowa on March 25, 1932
Departed on December 4, 2001. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Ronald P. McGee, 69, 1552 Greensway Ct. NE formerly of Waterloo and Cedar Falls died Tuesday December 4, 2001 at Northbrook Manor following a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 10:30 A.M. Friday at St. Pius Catholic Church by the Rev. Donald Klein. Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM Thursday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home where a vigil service will be held at 7 PM. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Surviving in addition to his wife Jeanne are five daughters, Pam Christensen and husband Steve of Sioux Falls, SD, Patty Cresap and husband Jim of Shell Rock, Kelly McGee of Phoenix, AZ, Angie Markham and husband Jim of Cedar Rapids and Christy Kalous and husband Bob of Cedar Rapids; four sons, Terry McGee of Ankeny, Kolin McGee of Cedar Rapids, Joel McGee and wife Nancy of Salt Lake City, UT, and Chad Hawker of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Lyola McGee, Willis McGee, and Leo McGee; four sisters, Eileen Whalen, Gerry Ott, Dorothy Hovey and Millie Ellingson; ten grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Ron was born March 25, 1932 in Cresco the son of Leo and Geneva Cummings McGee. He married Jeanne Reicherts on August 19, 1988 in Cedar Rapids. Ron, along with his wife and stepson operate McGee Appraisal Services, Inc.. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, the American Society of Appraisers, the Elks Club, Knights of Columbus, the Greater Cedar Rapids Home Builders Association, was President of the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Board of Realtors in 1977, was President of the Iowa Association of Realtors in 1984, and was Director of the National Association of Realtors from 1982 to 1985. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Ron loved to golf, and tailgate Iowa Hawkeye Football Games. Ron will be greatly missed by everyone he touched. His smile and personality is a loss to everyone.

Anna Delores Neff

Anna Delores Neff, 89 of 2659 Rainer Ct. N.E., died Wednesday at the West Ridge Care Center following a long illness. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church by Rev. Donald Klein officiating. Interment: St. John's cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today where a rosary service will be given at 6 p.m.

Surviving is her husband Miles, 3 sons, Edward and wife Linda of Cedar Rapids, Terry and wife Rosie of Cedar Rapids and Allen of Cedar Rapids, 2 daughters, Delores Christiansen and husband Peter of Cedar Rapids and Bobbi Hajek and husband David of Cedar Rapids, 4 sisters, Rose Sage of Anamosa, Ruth Fulmer of Cedar Rapids, Florence Buresh of Cedar Rapids and Theresa Burns of Las Vegas, a brother, Clement Philipp of Ely, 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, her twin sister, Mary Michalec and Martha Carter and a brother, Fred Philipp.

She was born December 16, 1912 in Atchison, Kansas to Alvin and Mary Knapp Philipp and was married to Miles Neff on January 10, 1942 in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Anna enjoyed time with her sisters playing cards and bingo. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to Hospice of Mercy, Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.
