NAME Terry Mann Martin, 65, of 3226 14th Ave SE, died Thursday, December 20, 2001, in St. Luke's Hospital from complications during heart surgery. Services at 11 AM Thursday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Diane Bishop will officiate. Private family burial in Crystal cemetery, Tama County, Iowa. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday and at the chapel after 10:30 AM on Thursday.
Survivors include his wife Dixie, two sons, Brad of Los Angeles, and Tyler and wife Beth of Cedar Rapids: three grandchildren, Hallie, Signey, and Samuel Martin, a sister Molly Gray and husband John of Los Angeles, two nephews, and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Terry was born May 30, 1936, in Waterloo, Iowa to Donald E. and Maxine Dickey Martin. He graduated from Traer High School in 1954. He served in the US Army from July 1954 until June 1956 in Germany. He was joined in marriage to Dixie Bradley on August 19, 1956 in Traer. He attended Iowa State University and returned to Traer where he became employed at First National Bank until 1969. He was a vice president of the correspondent banking division of Merchants National BankFirstar until retirement in 1992. Terry was past president of Linn County Bankers, a member of Otter Creek Gun Club, and won the Iowa State Trapshoot in 1996. His main interests were spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and trapshooter. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established.

Betty Lou Moel
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 6, 1929
Departed on February 27, 2002. Resided in Iowa City, IA.

Betty Lou Moel, 72, of Iowa City, formerly of Solon, Marion, and Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, February 27, 2002 in her home following a short illness. Services at 1 PM Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Judy Gingerich Chaplain with the Iowa City Hospice will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids from 5 to 8 PM on Monday and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Tuesday.
Survivors include her husband Dean, two daughters Linda Shimerda of San Antonio, Texas, and Patti Bortz of Solon, three sons Gary and Mike both of Solon, Jack of Lisbon, a sister Sandy Trimble of Marion, and a brother Ronnie Umsted of Mesa, Arizona.
Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law Lyle and Jo Moel of Zavalla Texas, and two sisters-in-law, Sharon Schilling of Phoenix, Arizona, and Billie Schowengerdt of San Ramon, California.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents.
Betty was born March 6, 1929, in Cedar Rapids to Walter and Ruth Stoner Umsted who were former owners and operators of the Little Flower Shop in Cedar Rapids from 1939 to 1958. She married Dean Moel on June 14, 1947 in Cedar Rapids. Betty had worked as a florist, a sales person for Sears, and was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, fishing, and knitting.
Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

E. Jeanne Finlayson Nye
Born in Buffalo Center, Iowa on October 16, 1937
Departed on January 26, 2003. Resided in Hiawatha, IA.

E. Jeanne Finlayson Nye, 65, of 250 Cimarron Drive #204, Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2003, in Linn Manor Care following a short illness. A celebration of Jeanne's life to her eternal home in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2003, at 10AM in First Assembly of God Church. Rev. Rick Gail and Rev. Don McGarvey will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday and at the church after 9:30 AM on Wednesday.
Survivors include her husband Richard 'Dick' of Hiawatha, a daughter and son-in-law Val and John Beer of Hiawatha, her son Rick and fianc? Kristine Haselmann of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and granddaughters Elise and Shiree.
Also survived by four sisters Lou Elson of Phoenix, Arizona, Bonna Pinneke of Ames, Iowa, Miriam Boettcher of Des Moines, and Audrey Sansgard of Charles City, Iowa, and four brothers Roger Finlayson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Dave Finlayson of Phoenix, Arizona, Don Finlayson of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Steve Finlayson of Burns, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Jane Ann Nye, and a sister Arlys Tuttle.
Jeanne was born October 16, 1937 in Buffalo Center, Iowa to John and Alta Zenor Finlayson. She married Richard Nye on November 21, 1956 in Cedar Rapids. She was a homemaker and member of First Assembly of God Church.
Jeanne was known as a hugger to all her friends and loved ones. She poured her heart out to God in prayer on behalf of many hurting people. Jeanne touched the lives of her many Special friends and loved ones, whether they be a child, teenager, or adult. She would bare her soul to many of her friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God Church.

Gary K. Mitchell
Born in Putnam County, Missouri on November 5, 1942
Departed on February 27, 2002. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Gary K. Mitchell, 59, of 5649 Ohio Street SW, died Wednesday, February 27, 2002, in his home from Lung Cancer with his wife and sons by his side. Memorial services with Military honors at 10 AM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev Christine Wagner-Hecht hospice of Mercy Chaplain will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday and at the chapel after 9:30 AM on Saturday.
Survivors include his wife Martina, his mother Nellie Mitchell of Unionville, Missouri, sons Charles with support of Anita and family, and Troy with support of Donele and family, all of Cedar Rapids, and a sister Irmadeane Bowman and husband Don of Camdenton, Missouri.
Also survived by two nephews, Rick Bowman of Cedar Rapids, and Ron Bowman of Pea Ridge, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father Gurney Mitchell.
Gary was born November 5, 1942 in Putnam County, Missouri. He married Martina Springer on September 26, 1970 in Unionville, Missouri. Gary was a sheetmetal worker for Local 263. Gary and Martina owned and operated the Blue Collar lounge for the past 12 years. He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a lifetime member of VFW Post No 788. He enjoyed billiards and fishing.

Kathleen L. O'Hare

Kathleen L. O’Hare, 86, of 2975 F Ave NW, died Monday January 11, 2010. Funeral Mass: 11:30 A.M. Thursday at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Daniel G. O’Hare S.J. Visitation will be on Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, 1221 - 1st Ave SW, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, Westfield, MA. Burial: 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s cemetery, Westfield MA

Survivors include two sons, Rev. Daniel G. O’Hare S.J. of New York, New York, James P. O’Hare and wife Thunhi of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Patricia A. O’Hare of Boston, MA; a grandson, Patrick V. O’Hare of Cedar Rapids; step grandchildren, Minh T. Tran, Chau H. Chau, My T. Tran, Phi Q. Tran; step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick G. O’Hare, her parents, a brother, James, and a sister, Mary.

Kathleen was born January 17, 1923 in Westfield, MA, the daughter of James and Alice Mack Welch. She married Patrick G. O’Hare on November 22, 1945 in Westfield, MA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Family would like to thank the staff of Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy for their loving care and compassion.

Philip B. Martin

Philip B. Martin 61, of 4401 Dunn Ave, Marion, formerly of Marshalltown died Sunday, March 10, 2002, in Mercy Medical Center following a short illness. Services with military honors Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Francis Griffeth will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday and at the chapel after 10 AM on Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife Mary, two sons Philip Martin Jr. and wife Angie, and Douglas both of Minneapolis, a daughter Lynn Martin also of Minneapolis, and a sister Jeannette Rollins of Phoenix, Arizona, two grandchildren, Kailee and Mackenzie Martin, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Philip was born January 28, 1941 in Ranger, Texas to Callan and Marjorie Phillips Martin. He married Mary Rolle on December 26, 1964 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam War Veteran and loved to play golf.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association.

Dylan Bram McCort, 20 of 1261 1st Ave. SE died Monday, April 29, 2002 at his home after a sudden illness. Services at 11 AM on Sat. at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 9 PM on Friday and at the Chapel after 10 AM on Sat.
Survivors include his parents, Glen and Karen McCort of Cedar Rapids, his sister, Cara and brother, Mason both at home. Also survived by his grandparents, Donald and Bethel Sieck Sr. of Fayette, Don and Evangeline McCort of Ft. Myers, FL., his girl friend, Shannon Carter of Cedar Rapids and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dylan was born on March 6, 1982 in Boone, the son of Glen and Karen Sieck McCort. He graduated from Washington High School in 2000. Dylan attended the University of Iowa, Kirkwood and most recently worked at Target West. He was exceptionally gifted in music; playing the violin, keyboard, guitar and drums. He was compassionate, creative, kind and a wonderful person. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Dylan's name.
