David P. 'Mountain Man' McNulty, 49, of 1606 K St. SW, died Saturday, November 9, 2002, in St. Luke's Hospital following a sudden illness. Services with military honors at 1 PM Wednesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife and best friend Susan, his parents Kay and Ed McNulty of Cedar Rapids, three sons John Pettit and wife Julie of Cedar Rapids, James Clemons and wife Amy of Anamosa, and Jonathon McNulty of the home, a brother Steve 'Mac' McNulty of Oakley, Utah, three grandsons, Matthew, Shawn, and Noah, two granddaughters Tanya and Chloe, and his loving pet dogs, Perry and Polly.
David was born at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids on September 21, 1953 to Kay and Ed McNulty. He attended Linn-Mar and graduated from Kennedy High School in 1971. He then served in the US Navy for four years and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He then attended Kirkwood Community College and graduated from cooking school. On September 19, 1982, in Salt Lake City, Utah, he married
Susan Clemons of Cedar Rapids. They were married
for 20 years. David worked for many years as a cook. He was recently employed as a school bus driver for College Community Schools.
David was an awesome husband, son, father, grandfather, and brother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. David loved to cook . He was a Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching football, and loved to camp.
Military honors will be by VFW Post No 788.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for his family.
Billie Jean Matheny

Billie Jean Matheny: 69, 148 Red Wing Road SW, a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, died Friday morning, December 27, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Private family services will be held Tuesday with Chaplin Steve Hindman officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 on Monday. In recognition of the great care given by hospice, memorial donations may be made to St. Lukes Hospice, P.O. 3026 Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52406.
Billie Jean is survived by her husband Robert, two daughters, Vickie Irons and husband Jerry of Clarence, Iowa and Deb Anderson and husband Rick of Cedar Rapids and four grandchildren, Devin and Aaron Irons of Clarence, Iowa and Alicia and Chelsea Anderson of Cedar Rapids.
Billie Jean was born May 26, 1933 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of Orville and Waunita Blue Gaddy. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1951 and the St. Lukes School of Nursing in 1954. Billie Jean married
Robert E. Matheny on April 28, 1957 in Cedar Rapids. She then left nursing to become a devoted mother and homemaker. Billie was a wonderful wife and a tender, loving Mom and Grandma. We thank her for all her support, generosity and enthusiasm. Her cheerful attitude made you happy just being with her. She loved to crochet, play cards and camp. But most of all she just loved spending time with her family. Her family was her greatest treasure. She was a very special person who touched many lives. We love her and will miss her everyday.
Doris ''Dodie'' White McClain

Doris 'Dodie' White McClain, 87, a resident of Cottage Grove Place, died January 23, 2003. Friends are invited to join her family in memory of her life on Wednesday, January 29, at First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids at 11:00 AM.
Dodie was a wife to Carl 'Mac' McClain; mother to Tom and wife Ruth of Essex, Mass., Kate of Inverness, CA., and George and Janelle of Cedar Rapids; grandmother to Jeremy, Yara, Logan and Quin; sister to Eleanor 'Ellie' Butler and husband William 'Bill' Butler of White Bear Lake, MN. Her younger sister, Martha 'Marty' Bowen of Council Bluffs, IA., preceded her in death.
Dodie was born to Albert and Dorothea White in Council Bluffs on April 22, 1915. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1932 and received her B.S. degree from Iowa State University in Home Economics in 1936, where she was a member of Phi Beta Phi sorority.
Following graduation she had a career teaching school at Colo and Marcus Iowa; Omaha, Nebraska and Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church serving as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon, and trustee for the Trust Fund. She was a member of P.E.O., Chapter J.I.; Phi Beta Phi Alumni Club; Monday League, and the Cedar Rapids Country Club. She was also a 25-year volunteer for the Linn County Food Bank.
She enjoyed travel and had visited all the continents of the world except Antarctica and all the states in the United States. She was a great enthusiast of Elderhostel.
Her husband, Mac, of 63 years passed away this past November.
Dodie requested memorial be sent to the McClain Scholarship Endowment Funds at either Coe College or Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids or the Cedar Rapids First Presbyterian Church Building fund.
Raymond D. Mizner

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Raymond was born June 11, 1918 in Plymouth, Iowa to Oscar and Olga Dilts Mizner. He married
Bessie A. Hurlbert on November 4, 1944 in Columbus, Kansas. He worked in maintenance at Amana Refrigeration from 1953 to 1983 when he retired. He was a US Army veteran of WW II. He was formerly the Mayor and Fire Chief in Fairfax, and assisted with many community events. He was a member of the Good Sam's Camping Club.

Jon E. Nelson, 56, of 44 Julia Ann Dr. NW, died suddenly, Saturday, July 12, 2003, in his home. Memorial services at 3 PM Thursday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Survivors include his wife Yvonne, his mother Margie Nelson, of Cedar Rapids, four daughters Liz Kitchens, Denise Jones, and Renee Hiles of Cedar Rapids, and Barbara Pitts of Longmont, Colorado, two sisters, Janis Smith of Austin, Arkansas, and Lynn Dake of Cedar Rapids, seven grandchildren, and his pet dog Newton.
He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Nelson.
Jon was born April 11, 1947 in Cedar Rapids to John H. and Margie L. Dice Nelson. He married
Yvonne S. Pease on August 15, 1971 in Cedar Rapids. He owned and operated the Viking Lounge for 24 years. He was a member of the Moose Club, Eagles Club, Commander USA, and the Buddies Bowling League. He sponsored several teams and played softball for several years. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He also had a great love for fireworks and fishing.

Mary L. McGinnis, 59, of 7305 Selzer Road, Fairfax, Iowa, died Sunday at University Hospitals in Iowa City following a brief illness. Services: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew's Catholic Church by Father Mark Osterhaus officiating. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today where a vigil and rosary service will be given at 6:30 p.m.
Surviving besides her husband Tom, are children, Christina Engstran and husband Steven of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Jacqueline Nelson-Norris and husband Jeffrey of Alexandria, Virginia, Scott Nelson and wife Denise of Iowa City, Randy Mittman and Kimberly McGinnis, both of Cedar Rapids, her parents, Ernest and Edna Breon of Muscatine, Iowa, brothers, David Breon and wife Mary of Wapello, James Breon and wife Mary of Preston, Minnesota, Michael Breon and wife Sheila of Overland Park, Kansas, Eugene Breon and wife Marsha of Las Vegas, Nevada and Richard Breon and wife Margaret of Grand Rapids, Michigan, sisters, Ruth Henrich and husband Ed of Oceola, Iowa and Elaine Pitt and husband 'Bud' of Brighton, Iowa, 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis and a sister Darlene.
She was born April 5, 1943 at Ft. Dodge, Iowa to Ernest and Edna Orwig Breon and was married
to Tom McGinnis on December 28, 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She graduated from Crestland High School in Early, Iowa and the Omaha Business College in Omaha, Nebraska, and had been office manager for Dr. Robert Wessner in Iowa City up to the time of her illness. She was a member of the St. Matthew's Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Hawkeye Champ's Camping Club and the Cedar Rapids Model A Club.
A memorial fund in her name has been established.

Donald Wesley Milburn Sr. 64, of Ft. McCoy Florida, formerly of Marion, went to be with our Lord on July 2, 2003 at the Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Florida after a short illness. Survivors include his wife Carolyn, two daughters Terry Gorman and husband David of Robins, and Connie Cooling and husband Kenneth of Solon, Iowa, a son Donald Milburn Jr. and wife Penny of El Mirage, Arizona, four brothers Curtis Milburn and wife Linda of Taylorville, Illinois, William Milburn and with Shanna of Phoenix, Arizona, Joe Robert Milburn and wife Carol of Chicago, Illinois, and Frank Milburn and wife Kim of Springfield, Illinois, 10 grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Patrick, Rachael, Riley, Jacob, Samantha, Savannah, Jeff, and Robby, 2 step children, 7 step grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Marlene and his parents Frank and Thelma Milburn.
Donald was born October 3, 1938 in Springfield, Illinois to Frank and Thelma Milburn. He graduated from Feitshans High School in Springfield, in 1956. He married
Marlene Howard on March 15, 1957, in Springfield, Illinois. She passed away on April 19, 1997, after 40 years of marriage. He married
Carolyn King on August 9, 1997 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Donald worked in the Veterinarian Medical Industry from 1959 until his death.
Donald was the cornerstone of his family. His devotion to his wives, children, and grandchildren was unquestionable. All who knew him loved him. He was a special soul and will be missed more than words can say.
A memorial fund has been established for the National Kidney Foundation.
