Steven Robert Ongie, 49, of 1506 Fox Trail Drive NE, died at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy on Sunday, October 26, 2008, after a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Revs. Paul and Gayle Wilcox of Lovely Lane United Methodist Church. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 10:30 Wednesday at the Chapel.
Survivors include his mother, Arlene Smith of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Bill Ongie, David Ongie, and Scott Ongie, all of Cedar Rapids; sister, Carol Tucker of North Ft. Myers, Florida; and stepmother, Marjorie Ongie-Hall.
Steven was preceded in death by his father.
Steven was born on June 15, 1959 in Ishpeming, Michigan to Charles and Arlene Ongie. He graduated from Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids. He was part owner and operator of Cedar Rapids WinPump. Steven was a member of Lovely Lane United Methodist Church and the Otter Creek Gun Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the SICU of the University of Iowa as well as Hospice of Mercy for the wonderful care given to Steven.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Daniel Muth Jr., 66, of 1909 Apache Dr., Marion, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, in Mercy Medical Center following a sudden illness. Services at 10 AM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Friday and at the chapel after 9:30 AM on Saturday.
Survivors include his wife Alice, a daughter Kathy Forgie and husband Dwayne of
Le Claire, Iowa, three sons Danny "Peter" Muth and wife Laura of Hawaii, Kelly Muth and wife Sherrie of Cedar Rapids, and Joey Muth of Marion, a sister Judy Olsen of Ft. Myers, Florida, and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Daniel was born July 6, 1937 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Daniel and Eleanor Engelmann Muth. He served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1962. He married
Alice Russell on April 29, 1962 in Portland, Oregon. He was a diesel truck salesman for the Agency Truck and Trailer Company for 15 years. He was Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his family and friends.

Marvin J. Merrigan, 79, of 6023 Purple Dr. NE died Wed. March 17, 2004 at his home after a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Lucille, four sons, Michael of Cedar Rapids, Daniel of Chicago, ILL., Steven of Fox Lake, ILL., Timothy of Tomahawk, WI., a daughter, Kathleen Merrigan of Seattle, WA. and a sister Rita Meek of Des Moines. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Marvin was born on April 13, 1924 in Clyde, MO. the son of Edward and Blanche Brandt Merrigan and graduated from Iowa State University. He married
Lucille Musson on Nov. 26, 1948 in Des Moines. Marvin was a manager for the Illinois Bell Telephone Co for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, the Telephone Pioneers of American and served in the Navy during WWII. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor's choice in Marvin's name.

She is also survived by 2 nieces, Jean Dunn and Paula Holcomb, 2 nephews, David and Jim Wild, 2 grand nieces, Cari and Ashley Wild and 7 great nephews, Ryan and Sean Dunn, Justin and Jared Wild and Chris, Tim and David Holcomb. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Edwin Holcomb.
Pauline was born on Jan. 2, 1911 in Anamosa, the daughter of Ed and Carrie Dickinson Wild. She married
Oliver Neville on March 3, 1951 the Quad Cities. He died in 1983. Pauline attended Cornell College and Coe College of Business. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was past chairperson of the Mary Neoma Circle there. She was past matron of Cedar Chapter of Eastern Star, past queen of Daughters of the Nile, past high priestess of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, PEO and past president of I.F. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to St. Paul's Foundation or the Shriners.

Jane A. Miller, 63, 3299 2nd Street, Marion died Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at her home following a long illness. Services: 11:00 A.M. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Marion. There is no visitation. Inurnment is private. The Rev. Howard Chapman will officiate. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband John; three daughters, Teresa Reuter, husband Tom, and two children, A.J. and Michael of Monticello, Tamara Trca, husband David, and three children, London, Scout, and Saige of Robins, and Ann Marie, husband Gary, and their child, Adriana of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Nancy Marmann of Cedar Rapids and Marian Urbanek of Wisconsin.
Jane was born April 12, 1940 in Floyd County the daughter of T. Adrian and Ruth Krause Burlingham. She married
John W. Miller on July 24, 1966 in Cedar Rapids. Jane worked at Square D from 1959 until 1970, and was an inspector for Rockwell Collins from 1972 until 1999. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1959 and attended the Paris Academy of Cosmetology. She was a Hospice of Mercy volunteer, and was one of the first Brownie Leaders in Newhall. Jane attended Central Park Presbyterian Church, the Newhall Church and was a 27 year member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion. She taught Sunday school for 35 years, and served as a deacon and elder.

Glenn E. Merritt, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday September 17, 2004 in Linn Manor Care Center following a short illness. Services: 10:30 A.M. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church by the Rev. Daniel Krueger. Friends may call on Cedar Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and after 9:30 A.M. at the church on Monday. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Glen was born March 12, 1927 to Wayne and Verda Hodgden Merritt in Clarence, Iowa. He graduated with the Clarence High School Class of 1944. He served in the Navy during World War II on two different carriers. He played drummer for 60 years in various bands, Leonard Reyman, Johnny Ketelsen, Marc Frana of Charles City and Nancy's Good Time Band to name a few. He worked at Iowa National Mutual Insurance Company for 38 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of Musicians Protective Union.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marian Merritt, a daughter, Colleen Matthews and husband Bob of Justin, Texas, a son, Mark Merritt and wife Dixie of Marion, Iowa, a sister, Ramona Mc Caw and husband Gene of Clarence, a brother, Lee Merritt of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church or St. Luke's Hospice.
Loretta A. Nebel

Loretta A. Nebel, 91, of Living Center East died there on Friday, February 12, 2010. Services at 1:00 PM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after Noon on Monday. Pastoral Associate, Linda Stavropoulos will officiate. Entombment at Mt. Calvary cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors included one daughter, Rita Nelson, and a daughter–in-law Joyce Nebel both of Cedar Rapids and a sister, Helen Brown of St. Louis, Missouri. She is also survived by six grandchildren, David (Lisa) Nebel, Kathy (Bill) Roberts, Janet (Steve) Howe, Kelly and Scott (Sandra) Nelson and Sherry Shultz; 13 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded inn death by her parents, husband, a son, Richard, 5 sisters, 3 brothers, and a son-in-law, Allen.
Loretta was born on Sept. 21, 1918 in Hopkinton, where she attended school and grew up. She was the daughter of Pete and Mary Murphy Grieff. Loretta married
Maurice Nebel on April 14, 1936 in Hopkinton. He died in 1982.
Loretta worked for short time at Wilson-Sinclair, then for 27 years at McKesson-Robbins as a pharmaceutical clerk and later at grant Wood Area Education for 16 years, retiring in 1994.
She volunteered at Mercy Hospital for several years and was a member of All Saint Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and time spent with her family.
Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Mercy or All Saints Catholic Church.
