Robert C. McClelland, 76, of 9215 Lawrence Dr. West SW. died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Linn Manor after a long illness. Services at 9 AM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Administrator and Chaplain Grant Hagen of Linn Manor will officiate. Burial with military rites at the Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene, three daughters, Nadine Michael Hackbarth, and Brenda David Hack all Cedar Rapids, Lori Brian Hilzendager of Robins, a son, Robert and his significant other, Patti of Walford, three sisters, Shirley Niermeyer of Cedar Rapids, Dorothy Dircks of Clarence and Connie Chrisman of Center Point, and one brother, Donald of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob was born on Oct. 6, 1929 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Thomas and Elsie Spalding McClelland. He married
Arlene N. Brown on Oct. 6, 1954 in Washburn, Maine. Bob was a machine operator at Cryovac for 34 years and retired from there in 1993. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ely, the Atkins American Legion, the Teamster Union and proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed bowing, stockcar races, the Iowa Hawkeye's and especially time spent with his friends and beloved family. He will be greatly missed. A memorial fund has been established in Bob's name.

Evan James Maloney, 88, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died At the Medical Center of Aurora, Aurora, CO, Sunday, April 16, 2006, after complications from surgery.
Services: 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. William Harnish. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
Survivors include his son, James Maloney of Aurora; two granddaughters, Kristin Maloney of Aurora, CO, and Kara DiNunzio of Walnut Creek, CA; two great grandchildren, Ava and Aidan DiNunzio; and a nephew, Peter Maloney of Castro Valley, CA.
Evan was born July 6, 1917 in Cedar Rapids to James and Onalee Menz Maloney. He married
Charlotte I. Ravenscraft on July 3, 1941 in Wyoming, Iowa. He was a design engineer for Rockwell-Collins for over 32 years.

J. Brent Ryan, 30, of 3700 G Ave. NE died Sat. May 8, at his home. Services at 11 AM on Wed. at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Kim Pagel will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Jack and Jackie Ryan of Cedar Rapids, his mother and stepfather, Ginni and Ken Kolek of Central City, a stepbrother, Adam Kolek of Central City, two stepsisters, Bryanne Baker of Hiawatha and Kiley Baker of Cedar Rapids, grandparents Norman and Esther Graham of Cedar Rapids and grandmothers, Vernita Ryan of Cedar Rapids and Julie Kolek of Springville. He is also survived by his Godparents, Glen Opfer and Nancy Ryan, several aunts, uncles, cousins and his pet dog, Kody. Brent was a very special uncle to Chase, Courtney and Alexys. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Rick and a grandfather, John Ryan.
Brent was born on April 9, 1974 in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Kennedy High School. Brent was the construction supervisor at Task Force 3. He had a passion for all types of music and managed the musical group 'Whale Boy'. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Brent's name. The casket will be closed on Wed.

Mona Lisa O'Bannon Fuller, 35, of Cedar Rapids died January 12, 2007. Funeral Services 11 AM Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Gospel Tabernacle Church. Survivors include daughter Chandice; sons Darius and Draven; four sisters Helen Haynes of Holly Grove, Arkansas, Brenda Bounds and husband George of Rockford, Illinois, and Toni Lee and Patrisha Sesker and husband Kent all of Cedar Rapids; six brothers Rick Williams and wife Ellen, Larry Williams and wife Patti, Marck Lee and wife Jenny, Oscar O'Bannon and wife Hope, and Alphonce O'Bannon, Jr. and wife Kelly all of Cedar Rapids, and Roger O'Bannon of Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alphonce and Aretha O'Bannon, and a sister Gloria King.
Mona Lisa O'Bannon-Fuller was born November 2, 1970 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the beloved daughter of Alphonce and Aretha O'Bannon. She attended Jefferson High School. She was previously employed at Square D Company. Mona loved her family very much, especially the younger kids. She loved watching them play all types of sports. She also had a special gift of writing inspirational poetry. Mona was greatly loved and will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Mona's honor.

Survivors include daughters Sandra Eliot Keller of Iowa City, Sharon Joseph Caruso of Phoenix, AZ, and Sue Rob Murphy of Shellsburg. Also surviving are her grandchildren Nicole James Bush Keller, Anthony Caruso, Michael Vanessa Caruso, Gina Caruso, and Maeve Murphy.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Charles K. McGrew, and her parents.
Marilyn Lavonne McGrew was born September 13, 1929 in Ottumwa, Iowa the beloved daughter of Charles and Marguerite Moore Murray. She was a graduate of Belle Plaine High School in 1947. She married
Charles K. McGrew June 6, 1947 in Belle Plaine. She worked at Wright and Pierce Elementary in the cafeteria as a cashier for many years. She loved animals and wildlife. With her husband, she enjoyed Elvis music, dancing, and going to Las Vegas. She and her husband volunteered at Elk's Bingo for several years, and she was also active in the VFW Auxiliary.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Paws and More Animal Shelter, Washington, Iowa.

Lois "Darlene" Merklin, 80, 2024 Johnson Ave NW died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center following a sudden illness. Services: 11:00 A.M. Monday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2PM to 5PM at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. James Brokman will officiate.
Survivors include two daughters, Jacqualine Bucklin and Jill Zeilstra David both of Cedar Rapids; her brother, Robert Knake Joyce of Delhi; six grandchildren, Angie Zimmerman, Amy Boyles Casey, Joby Grafton Tiffany Sheehan, Jesse Grafton Becky Walters, and Ashley Grafton all of Cedar Rapids and David Lee Zeilstra Jr. Charity of Collettsville, NC; six great grandchildren, Zach and Abby Zimmerman, Avery and Carter Boyles, Parker and Jesse; and her longtime companion and buddy, Dean Tosh of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hank, an infant son John, her sister Gertrude Ross, a brother Virgil Knake, and a son-in-law William Bucklin.
Darlene was born April 21, 1926 in Anamosa the daughter of Martin Edward and Irene Petersen Knake. She married
John H. "Hank" Merklin on October 24, 1944 in Cedar Rapids. Darlene liked to have dinner and play bingo at the VFW, she also enjoyed her friends from 2 card clubs, she loved to quilt and was a wonderful seamstress, she loved to garden and took great pride in her beautiful lawn. Darlene was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and she will be greatly missed.
