William E. "Bill" Moothart, 52, of Marion died suddenly Saturday, October 28, 2006 at his home. Services: 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 5PM to 8PM at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home where a Vigil Service will be held at 7PM. The Rev. John Haugen from Loras College, Dubuque will officiate the funeral.
Surviving in addition to his wife Maria are a son, Christopher Moothart of Iowa City; two daughters, Sarah Moothart and Elizabeth Moothart both of Iowa City; his mother, Mary Crowe Moothart of Cedar Falls; four brothers, Joe Moothart Nancy of Cedar Falls, Pat Moothart Donna of Urbandale, Mike Moothart Patty of Plano, TX and Tom Moothart Karen of Ft. Collins, CO; three sisters, Anne Dennis Mike of Iowa City, Kaye Norenberg Eric of Mesa, AZ and Jane Messingham Dennisof Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald and a sister, Rebecca.
Bill was born October 28, 1954 in Cedar Rapids the son of Donald and Mary Crowe Moothart. He married
Maria T. Meaney on December 27, 1980 in Waterloo. Bill did his undergraduate work at St. Thomas College in Minneapolis, MN, went to medical school at the University of Iowa and 3 years of residency at Geseinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Following his residency, he came to Cedar Rapids and was a physician in the Emergency Room at Mercy Medical Center for 22 years. Bill was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Linn County Medical Society. Bill was a wonderful husband, father and family man. He was loved by his community, and he had many good friends. He will be missed by so many.

Marjorie A. “Marge" Oliphant, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died July 1, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, July 6, 2009 at Kenwood Park United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years Hartzell “Ollie" Oliphant; children Janice Oliphant of San Antonio, TX, and Larry Oliphant and wife Debbie of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren Jana, Kari, Nathan, Alex, Jeremy, Delaine and Justin; great grandchildren Michael, Christian, Alaina, Noah, Alexa, Kaedyn and Morgan; and two sisters Ila Johnson and husband Paul of North Liberty, and Marvel Grabau of Cresco.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one great grandchild.
Marjorie Arlene Oliphant was born December 25, 1926 in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of John and Hulda (Hamann) James. She was united in Marriage to Hartzell E. Oliphant on April 6, 1946 in Cresco. She was employed for many years at Life Investors and Aegon in retirement investments. She was an officer of ABWA, a member of Elk’s Auxiliary, and a 50 plus year member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church where she was involved in Lydia’s Circle, and numerous other church activities. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, reading, and above all time she spent with her family whom she loved dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Mildred Elizabeth Reynolds McIntyre, 105, of Cedar Rapids died May 4, 2007 at Cottage Grove Place following an extended illness. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 8, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church. Private Inurnment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Arrangements and Cremation entrusted to Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include son Scott McIntyre, JR and wife Dee Ann of Cedar Rapids and Santa Fe, NM; daughters Susan McIntyre Carlton and husband Ray of Buffalo, NY, and Margaret McIntyre Pless of Durham, NC. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Nena Reynolds Wulfers, and husband J. Scott McIntyre, SR., founder of United Fire and Casualty Company.
Mildred Elizabeth Reynolds McIntyre was born February 2, 1902 in Duluth, MN the beloved daughter of Dennis and Dorthea Beauthine Reynolds. She was united in marriage to J. Scott McIntyre, SR on 1926 in Duluth, MN. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Cedar Rapids Country Club, Cedar Rapids Garden Club, PEO, and many other civic and social organizations. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend of many and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Leland L. Reynolds

Leland L. Lee Reynolds, 91 of 2115 1st Ave. S.E. Cottage Grove Place, died Monday at Heritage Care Center following a long illness. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by Rev. Kay Slocam, First Lutheran Church officiating. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and at the Chapel of Memories after noon on Thursday. Military rites will be presented by VFW Post 788.
Surviving besides his wife Lillian of 64 years, is a niece, Loraine Kohl of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Reynolds and a sister, Olivine Kohl.
He was born on February 22, 1913 in Mt. Vernon, Iowa to George and Margaret Carney Reynolds and was married
to Lillian Schindler on October 6, 1939 in Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Reynolds has served during World War 2 in the U.S. Navy.
Lee had been with the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years prior to his retirement in 1973. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, was a life long member of the VFW Post 788 and life long member of the American Legion Hanford Post # 5. He was presented with the Linn County Patriotism Award in 1994 by the Linn County Board of Supervisors, for serving the veterans of this community and nation with integrity, honor and loyalty, for serving in the U.S. Navy from 10/6/1943 11/25/1945. The award also acknowledges his serving the American Legion Hanford Post #5 for 5 years and VFW Post 788 for 8 years. Lee helped organize and participated in last military rites for over a thousand funerals and personally attended 907 of them.

Rachel Hannah Miller, 87, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died at the Hiawatha Care Center, Saturday, May 19, 2007, following a long illness. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer. Burial: 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoult cemetery, rural Chrisman, Edgar County, IL. Friends may call after 12 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Rachel was born on July 1, 1919 in Edgar County, IL, the daughter of Philip E. Hannah and Mary Adelaid Jenness.
Rachel married
John Raymond Miller on February 7, 1942 in Dubuque, IA.
She attended Business College in Dubuque, IA and worked as an Executive Secretary at National Oats and through Manpower in Cedar Rapids for more than 20 years.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Rachel is survived by her husband, Jack Miller of Hiawatha; 3 daughters, Patricia Sweet and husband, Merle of Madison, WI, Jean Welander and husband Kurt of St. Louis Park, MN, and Joan Minney and husband, Douglas of Cedar Rapids; and 8 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
