Francis "Buzz" E. Maish, 85, 11706 Club Road died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at his home following a brief illness. Services: 11:00 A.M. Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday from 5PM to 8PM. The Rev. Tom Carver of the Shueyville United Methodist Church will officiate.
Survivors include a daughter, Maureen Lehr George of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Bret Lehr Cheryl of Cedar Rapids and Brad Lehr Sara of Central City; three great grandchildren, Garrett, Tanner and Austin; a brother, Cleo Maish of Custer Park, IL; a sister, Helen Wachman of Mason City; and his long-time companion, Eleanore "Cookie" Collins of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary in 1991, and two children Jacklyn and Morris.
Buzz was born September 22, 1921 in Cedar Rapids the son of Edward and Daisy Farnum Maish. He married
Mary E. Johnson on January 10, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri. He was an electric motor mechanic for Hupp Electric for 48 years. Buzz was a member of the Cedar Rapids Horseman's Club, where he also served as president. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WW II.

Rachel Ann Manning, 88, of Arbor Place in Cedar Rapids, died on Saturday, August 18, 2007. Visitation will be held on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary service at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mathews Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Osterhaus will officiate the service. Burial will take place immediately after Mass at the Cedar Memorial Park cemetery in the Mount Moriah section.
Survivors include her brother Alexandre Wery Angela of Cedar Rapids, her sister Jacquelin Sadet of Belgium, nieces Jeanine Jacomb Jim, and Paulette Hageman Eric, nephews Greg Wery Laurie, Mark Wery Teresa, Eric Wery Cheryl, and Alan Wery Judy, many other nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Her parents, her husband Theodore, a brother Werner Wery, and sisters Carmen Wery, Jeanne Wery and Rachel Wery preceded her in death.
Rachel was born on October 11, 1918 to Martin and Palmyre Massart Wery in Belgium. She was united in marriage with Theodore Manning on June 4, 1960 in Cedar Rapids. She worked as a laboratory technician for the Quaker Oats Company for twenty years. She was a devoted member of St. Mathews Catholic Church and also participated in the choir. She truly loved her family and was grateful to have her many nieces and nephews in her life.

Darryl L. Mason, 66, of 100 18th Ave, Hiawatha, died August 24, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Carroll Brown will officiate. Friends may call from 4 PM to 7 PM, Monday, August 27, 2007, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, and after 12:30 PM on Tuesday at the Chapel. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Survivors include his best friend and companion Lydia Gehling and family of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Darryl Leonard Mason was born July 26, 1941 in Marshalltown, Iowa the beloved son of Leonard Gordon and Bernadine Nelie Dixon Mason. He was a 1958 graduate of Toledo High School. He was employed for over 40 years as a truck driver and just recently retired in March from Green Products. He was a member of the American Legion, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests, memorial donations in Darryl's name be made to the Iowa Motor Truck Scholarship Fund, 717 East Court, Des Moines, Iowa 50392.
Susan DeNeece Butterfield Mullen

Susan Butterfield Mullen, 71, of Slidell, LA, formerly of Marion, died September 1, 2007 in her home following a lengthy illness. Funeral Services 3:00 PM, Friday, September 7, 2007 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Officiating will be Pastor John Rosenberg of Seeds of Faith Lutheran Church, Mt. Vernon, IA. Friends may call Friday after 2:30 PM at the chapel. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of more than 48 years, Bruce Mullen; daughters Stephanie Fudge of Marion, Christie Mullen of Pittsburgh, PA, Deborah Hover of Slidell, LA, and Vickie Brighi of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by six grand daughters and two great grandsons.
Susan was born in Johnson County, Iowa on January 21, 1936. She is the adopted daughter of the late Carl and Helene Butterfield of Cedar Rapids. She was a graduate of the Cedar Rapids school systems and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Coe College in Cedar Rapids in 1957 and was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority while at Coe. Susan taught school in Cedar Rapids following graduation, and in Elmhurst, IL following her marriage in 1959. Returning to Cedar Rapids in 1961, Susan resided with her family in Cedar Rapids and Marion until moving to Slidell in 1986.

Eugene Wesley Morse, 64, of 1403 5th Avenue SE, died at home, Friday, September 28, 2007 after a sudden illness. Memorial services: 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Olivet Presbyterian Church. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; 8 children, Robin Streeter of Hawkeye, Eugene Morse Jr. of Iowa City, John, Tammy and Danielle Morse, all of Cedar Rapids, Tammy Capps, Monica Bunker, Nicole Johnson, and Shyimie Mead, all of Cedar Rapids; 2 sisters, Imogene Kelley of Cedar Rapids and Judith Gaal of Loveland, CO; and a brother, Victor Morse of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are a son-in-law, Travis Williams; 31 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and 1 step grandchild. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Arthur and Cleve; and a sister, Lavanda.
Eugene was born on November 3, 1942 in Wadena to Harold and Mary Morse. He was a roofer for Morse Roofing.
A memorial fund has been established.
Glatha Marian McCallum

Glatha M. McCallum, 85, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, formerly of Marion, died September 30, 2007 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a short illness. Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, friends may call the church after 9:15 on Wednesday. Rev. John Gossman will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, where a prayer service will begin at 6:30 PM. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Military Rites by American Legion Hanford Post # 5.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years John H.; children Linda Carr, David McCallum and friend Judy all of Cedar Rapids, Rebecca McCallum and friend Whiskers of Cascade, Douglas McCallum and wife Jean of Dubuque; grandchildren Teri Shellenberger of Cedar Rapids, Tami Hamlin and husband Dave of Milwaukee, WI, Erin Owen and husband Andrew of Sumner, and Jamie Flowers of Dubuque; great grandchildren Michael, Sydney, Nicholas, Seth, Alyssa, and Christina; and her sister Jeanette Rstom and husband George of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Paul Rorah.
Glatha Marian McCallum was born February 19, 1922 in Emeline, Iowa the beloved daughter of Edgar and Mamie Lohmeier Rorah. She attended nurses training at St. Luke's. She served her country honorably during WWII as a nurse and received the rank of Lieutenant in the United States Navy. During her years in the Navy she met John H. McCallum, and they were later married
on June 10, 1946 in Cedar Rapids. She was employed for several years at St. Luke's Hospital as a Registered Nurse; she was also employed as a school nurse in the Marion School District and at the Abbe Center. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She had volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program. Glatha enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, camping and traveling, playing games, cooking for her family, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and above all her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations in Glatha's honor may be made to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
