Moore, David W. of Cedar Rapids, passed peacefully to the Lord on October 3, 2007, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy at age 69.
Visitation Sun, Oct. 7th from 4-7pm at Cedar Memorial. Memorial Services will be held Mon, Oct. 8th, 11am at First Lutheran Church, by Pastor Dan Kolander 1000 Third Ave SE, Cedar Rapids, IA, 319 365-1494, followed by a reception meal. Inurnment will then be held at 2:30pm at Cedar Memorial.
He was born on May 26th, 1938, to DL and Eula Moore in Fort Smith, AR, graduated from Van Buren High School in 1956. He attended Southern Tech in Atlanta, GA. then joined Amana Refrigeration in 1964 and moved to Cedar Rapids, IA in 1969. He married
Peggy Hickey in 1956. They later divorced. He married
Karen Knox in 1993. Before retiring in 1994, he was the Vice President of Customer Service for Amana Refrigeration.
He is survived by his wife Karen, his son Duane Lynn Moore, Jeff Karen Knox, Laura Mike Dawson, and Bryan Chris Knox; grandchildren Luke Moore, Sarah, Michael, Ryan, Sydney, Lauren, Sean, Katie, Matthew, and Cael; his past wife Peg and two sisters, Reba Brunk and Shirley Morton. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Lonnie and Donnie.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Mercy or First Lutheran Church. A special thanks to Brooke Wilkenson and staff at Hospice of Mercy.
An avid golfer, he shared his love of life, friendship and family with all who knew him.
We love and miss you. We know you are where the eagles are flying and birdies dropping.
Grant Stephen Rutherford

Grant Stephen Rutherford, 18 of 3517 Old Orchard RD. NE died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 as the result of an accident near Palo. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 PM on Sat. at Christ Episcopal Church. Rev. Barbara H. Schlachter will officiate. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 9 PM on Friday.
Survivors include his parents, Steven and Mary of Cedar Rapids, a brother, Tyler, who is a student at Iowa State University in Ames, grandparents, Mrs. Harold Ahlman of Edina, MN. and Gary and Louise Rutherford, his great grandmother, Alice Rutherford, all of Marshalltown and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a grandfather, H.E. 'Speed' Ahlman and his best friend, Tyler Buelow.
Grant was born on Feb. 21, 1986 in Marshalltown. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 2004. While at Kennedy he was Captain of the Swim Team and participated in football. He was a member of the National Honor Society, the National Council on Youth Leadership, an Eagle Scout with Troop No. 766 as well as being an Academic All American and a state qualifier in swimming. He worked part time at Theisen's and Rowley Implement. Grant was dedicated to everything he did. He was a wonderful son, brother, grandson and friend. He will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Kennedy Swim Team Scoreboard Fund in Grant's name.
Ronald W. Nickerson

Ronald W. Nickerson, 73, of 911 36th St. NE. died Saturday May 8, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. Memorial services at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Peace Christian Reformed Church. Rev. Gary Brouwers will officiate. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Anne, four daughters, Lydia Nickerson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bethany Thomas of Lincoln, Nebraska, Anna (Michael) Jessop of Philadelphia, Rachel (Sean) Schooley of Washington, Iowa and a brother Wayne (Jean) Greenwood of Andover, Massachusetts. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Ron was born on February 24, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Whitman and Nellie Acker Nickerson. He married
Mary Anne Clark on June 7, 1986 in Cedar Rapids. Ron was a minister for the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America and retired from his ministry after 21 years of service. He was a member of Peace Christian Reformed Church. Ron enjoyed antiquing and refinishing as well as spending time with his friends and beloved family.
A memorial fund has been established in Ron’s name.

Jane M. Maus, 74, of Heritage Nursing and Rehab died Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. Services: 1:00 P.M. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Linwood cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday from 5PM to 7PM. The Rev. Sheryll Untiedt of Shueyville United Methodist Church will officiate.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Maus of Waterloo and Diane Maus of Cedar Rapids; a son, Dean Maus of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Meagan, Jordan, Elizabeth, Danielle, Austin and McKenna; and two brothers, Royce Thomas of Safford, AZ and David Thomas of Springfield, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward in 1995; a son, David; and a brother, Keith Thomas.
Jane was born April 19, 1933 in Birchwood, Wisconsin the daughter of Francis J. and Helen W. Samson Thomas. She married
The Rev. Edward R. Maus on August 2, 1953 in Birchwood, Wisconsin. She was a member of Shueyville United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, Lorna May, Dana, April, Jason, Eric, Cara, Kelly, Hannah, Micah, Kimberly, Nicholas, Danielle, Christina, Marie, Desiree, Cody, Paymon, Naseem, Toofawn, step grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
Her parents, husband and a granddaughter preceded her in death.
Ellen was born August 1, 1929 in Iowa County, the daughter of Acil and Augusta Knipfer Foubert. She married
Kenneth McDowell on November 5, 1964 in Union City, Tennessee. Ellen was a hard worker. She was employed at Montgomery Wards, starting at their downtown location and continuing on at Westdale Mall. She enjoyed woodworking, quilting, sewing, gardening and helping people. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Darold and Dean Ortberg, grandparents, Darrell and Vivian O’Brien and Dick and Erma Dichtelmiller; and uncle, Dennis O’Brien.
Doug was born June 6, 1953 in Cedar Rapids to Alavah and Juanita Ortberg. He married
Deanna Armstrong there on June 6, 1977. He was employed as a diesel mechanic for F & W Mack Trucks. Doug loved fishing with Steve and his dog, Brandy, working on car engines, and fixing things. He was a member of the O.M.R.A. Association.
