Betty L. O’Brien, 90, a resident of Bickford Cottage, Marion, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died May 31, 2010 at her residence following a short illness. Private family graveside services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may visit from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Surviving are her children, Ellaouise L. Maddox and husband Larry of Bonita Springs, FL, and John Patrick O’Brien and wife K of Springville; grandchildren Christopher Maddox and wife Natalie of Lenexa, KS, Kate May and husband Brian of Marion, and Hannah O’Brien of Springville; great grandchildren, Avery Maddox and Connor May; brother David Warren and wife Luanne of Winfield, KS; and sister-in-law, Colleen Warren of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, and brothers, Robert and Donald.
Betty was born July 5, 1919 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Merb R. and Mabel L. (Crosen) Warren. She graduated from Coe College in 1941 and was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She was united in marriage to John J. O’Brien on January 18, 1942 in Cedar Rapids. She worked in advertising at Armstrong’s Department Store for 23 years. She was a member of the ABWA, Campfire, and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling the world and had a life long interest in Ireland. She also enjoyed playing bridge.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Betty’s family at Bickford Cottage, the staff of St. Luke’s Hospice, and friend Sherry England.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Betty’s honor may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice.

Maxine Rose Maulorico, 93, of Northbrook Manor died Monday, March 17, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Services: 1:00 P.M. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Deacon Paul Zimmerman and Deacon Al Scharosch will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Friday from 12 PM to the time of service.
Surviving are a son, Richard Maulorico Kris of Herriman, UT; three daughters, Beverly McKnight Wayne of Wetumpka, AL, Pamella Sedgwick John of San Jose, CA and Carol Beyer Fred of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren, Angie, Andrea, Kimberly, Melissa, Curtis, Cristiana, Johnathan, Kelsey and Hunter; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ben in 1996; and one sister, Leona Weiland.
Maxine Rose Mikulecky was born February 17, 1915 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Louis and Albie Kloubec Mikulecky. She married
Benjamin J. Maulorico on August 1, 1953 in South Gate, CA. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
Maxine worked at Rockwell Collins for 10 years in the microfilm department. She loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Hannspeter Peter Mueller

Hannspeter "Peter" Mueller, 68, 3425 Jonquil Lane, Marion died Thursday, March 20, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota following a long illness. Services: 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4PM to 7PM. It was Peter's choice to be cremated following his service.
Surviving in addition to his wife Toni are a step-son, Daniel Barkhoff Darla of Grundy Center; a step-daughter, Sandy Schebler Mike of Solon; a sister, Edda Unger of Germany; four grandchildren, Justien, Travis, Austin and Brandon; a great grandson, Michael; two nieces, Petra and Gaby; and two nephews, Alexander and Stephan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marlene Kaegi.
Peter was born October 11, 1939 in Heilbron, Germany the son of Robert and Annelise Sauber Mueller. He married
Toni DeBoer on April 11, 1980 in Cedar Rapids. Peter was the Vice-President of International Sales for the Vector Corporation.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheryl Johnston of Florida, two sons, Jim Malake Sylvia of Marion, and Robert F. Malake Donna of Davenport, a sister, Louise Hood of Silvis, Illinois, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
Her husband, Joe Frank Malake, her parents, a sister and two grandsons, preceded her in death.
Anna was born December 27, 1916 in Altoona, the daughter of Ora and Estella Streeter Strain. She married
Joseph Frank Malake on September 21, 1935, in Anamosa. Anna was employed at Rockwell Collins from 1953 until 1978. She was a union member of the I. B. E. W. An active member of Kenwood Park Presbyterian church and especially fond of the Kitchen Dialogue Group where she made many close friends. She loved to knit and did so by making many, different items for her family and friends and her endless knitting of mittens for Hacap. Anna was a giving and generous person. She loved to grow vegetables to can, share, and her baking and cooking was priceless. Her family was very important to her and she loved them dearly. Gerald 'GR' Rooney, 71, 7225 1st Ave SW died Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital following a sudden illness. Memorial Services: 9:00 A.M. Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Michael Gray. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Joann; two sons, Randy Rooney and wife Patty and Ron Rooney and wife Sandy all of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Susie Walter of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Laura, Kristen, Michael, Zach, and Jessica; his mother, Marie Rooney of Keokuk; a brother, Larry Rooney of New Boston; a sister, Janice Celania of Keokuk; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Rooney.
Gerald was born August 21, 1933 in Keokuk the son of Joseph and Marie Brown Rooney. He married
H. Joann McVeigh on February 4, 1956 in Keokuk. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a construction foreman for U.S. West until his retirement in 1986, after 30 years. Gerald was an avid Nascar fan, enjoyed doing yard work and he loved his grandchildren very much.

Survivors include her children, Jack Werling of Monticello, Lee Werling of Tucson, Arizona, Roxanne Behrends of Monticello, Devin Werling of Albuquerque, New Mexico, her mother, Ruth Ann Burnell of Cedar Rapids, her siblings, Ken Burnell of Vinton, Donna Barnes of Cedar Rapids, Ed Burnell of Cedar Rapids, Ruthie Warren of Cedar Rapids and Rick Burnell of Port Orford, Oregon. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Burnell and a granddaughter, Cassandra Werling.
Judy was born October 21, 1948 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Donald and Ruth Ann Burnell. Judy was a care giver for Iowa Medical Provider. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo and camping. She was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Betty Jane Milota

Betty Jane Milota, 81, of 5521 Cedar Drive NW, died at St. Luke's Hospital, Monday, June 30, 2008, after a brief illness. There will be no services. Inurnment: Czech National cemetery. Her body has been cremated. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her sister, Shirley Jones of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Jerry Sandy Milota of Sacramento, CA, Leo Linda Milota of Cedar Rapids, and James Shirley Milota of Marion; and 25 nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Roy Milota; a sister, Mariann Kramer; and her brother-in-law, Jim Jones.
Betty was born on February 16, 1927 in Cedar Rapids to Rudolph and Mary Papacek Milota. She was employed by Quaker Oats for over 25 years, retiring in 1989. Betty remained working at Quaker one day a week in the product store.
Betty loved to play softball and was inducted into the Cedar Rapids Softball Hall of Fame in 1983. She also loved fishing, bowling, and camping, although her biggest love was spending time with her family and friends.
Memorials may be directed to the Diabetes Association and the Cedar Rapids Softball Hall of Fame.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
