Audrey Nowell, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, November 5, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Laura Smith of Kenwood United Methodist Church. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Survivors include her children, Paulette Brown of Oceanside, CA, Philip (Rosanna) Nowell of Quincy, IL, Terry Nowell of Monticello, Kevin Nowell, Steven Nowell, and Dennis (Holly) Nowell, all of Cedar Rapids; brother Glen Tabor of Hot Springs, AR; sister, Darlene Wray of Lenora, KS; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers.
Audrey was born January 1, 1938 in Austin, MN to Kenneth and Ruby Tabor. She married
Paul Nowell there on February 4, 1955. He died in 1988. She liked making crafts, bowling, camping and fishing. Audrey’s greatest pleasure was being with her family. Audrey was a member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church.

Irvin "Irv" McCarville, 81, of Marion died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at his home following a courageous battle with lymphoma. Mass of the Resurrection 10 a.m. Friday at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 2310 First Avenue, N.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Burial with military honors in Oak Shade cemetery in Marion. Visitation 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, 4200 First Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, with a wake service beginning at 7 p.m.
Irv is survived by his wife, Marian Frommelt, son, Steven (Susan) of Omaha, NE, and daughter Diane (Irwin) Morris of Marion, six grandchildren, Patrick, Michael, Maureen, and Kevin of Omaha; Marie (Justin) Billings and Matt Gilbertson of Marion, three step-grandchildren, and two brothers Harold (Dorothy) of Des Moines and Charley (Ardith) of Brownsboro, TX., a sister-in-law Sherry McCarville of Viola, and many nieces and nephews,
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raphael and Hazel Eldridge McCarville, brother Gerry, and Aunt Madge Eldridge.
Irv was born December 27, 1927 on the family farm near Cresco, Iowa and graduated from Cresco High School in 1945. He married
Marian Frommelt on November 9, 1957 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City, Iowa.
Irv worked for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company as office manager for over 30 years. Since his retirement, he was involved in many volunteer activities. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church, served as an usher, was a member of the Holy Name Society, and Marion American Legion Post 298. Irv was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Alice A. Miller, 94, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion, died there Saturday, June 27, 2009, following a short illness. Services will be held at 9 AM Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Park Funeral HOme. Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer of St. Paul's United Methodist church will officiate. Burial in Springville, cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home after 8:30 AM on Tuesday.
She is survived by her brother Dale Brown of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers Forrest and Norman.
Alice was born July 13, 1914, at State Center, Iowa, to Clayton N. and Noble Alice Fertig Brown. She was married
to Merle Miller who preceded her in death. She was a Rate Clerk for the Rock Island Railroad for over 25 years.

Andrew James Offerman

Andrew J. Offerman, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died August 9, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. Friends may visit the family from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Survivors include his daughters Teri (Doug) Routledge of Logan, UT, Sheri Williams of Cedar Rapids, and his son Chris Offerman (Diane Gilbertson) of Hiawatha; 8 grandchildren, Michael (Amber) Mercil, Maggie Mercil, James Mercil, of Cedar Rapids, Avery Offerman, Andrew Offerman and Brad Gilbertson of Hiawatha, Sara Cahoon, Samantha Williams, of Salt Lake City, UT; and 4 great-grandchildren, Hannah Martin, Madison Mercil, Katelyn Mercil and Logan Cahoon. He was born the sixth of seven children, and is survived by four brothers and sisters.
Andy was born December 23, 1934, the son of Matilda and Edward Offerman, in Earlville, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Penny Peck, which later ended in divorce. Andy joined the US Army and spent 18 months in Korea as a radio operator.
He worked for LeFebure Corporation where he retired.
He enjoyed fishing, his cabin, square dancing, and his family. Always one to “tinker" with mechanical things, there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix himself. He really enjoyed mowing the grass. Andy got to spend his retirement just the way he wanted, he often commented that he was busier now then when he worked full time.
The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to the wonderful staff of the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, who gave dad exceptional compassion and care.

Lenard A. Mundschenk, a resident of Hiawatha Care Center, formerly of Marion and Rowley, passed through his final sunset and entered eternal life on July 2, 2009. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Pastor Todd Joslin of Cedar Hills Community Church will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
He is survived by his daughters Joanne Wilson of Marion, Linda Fisher and husband David of Hiawatha, Diane Kantz and husband Andrew of Marion, Liza Nern and husband David of Denver, CO, and Penny Whiting of Cedar Rapids; sons Bruce Mundschenk and wife Trish of Dubuque, and Michael Mundschenk and wife Carol of East Dubuque, IL; siblings Emma Kennedy, Katherine Pyka, Julius Mundschenk, Harold Mundschenk, Elsie Wheeler, and Junior Mundschenk; 14 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy; his parents; siblings John, Josephine, William, Walter, Kenneth, and Robert; and great grandchildren Skylar Wolfe and Paige Ishman.
Lenard was born August 15, 1917 in Albion, NE the son of Frank and Anna (Krohn) Mundschenk. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Scott on December 6, 1946; she preceded Lenard in death on April 25, 2003. He was a longtime farmer near Rowley. He also was employed at Boelter’s Appliance. He was a member of Rowley United Methodist Church and served as head usher for many years. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and watching birds. Above all he enjoyed time spent with his family, especially all his grandchildren. He will always be remembered for the way he was able to make new friends and loved to talk with anyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Lenard’s honor.
Marie V. Osborne

Marie Valentine Mettler Osborne, 90, of 1122 2nd Avenue SW, died at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, Friday, May 13, 2005 after a brief illness. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Turner West Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Pleiness of Good News Baptist Church. Burial: Shiloh cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Turner West Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include one daughter, Lila Larry Slaymaker of Cedar Rapids; four sons, Lee Osborne of Fitchburg, MA, Royce Nancy Osborne of Flagstaff, AZ, Ernie Jan Osborne and Clair Elaine Osborne, all of Cedar Rapids; fourteen grandchildren; one step granddaughter; twenty great grandchildren; and one step great-granddaughter. She is also survived by seven cats, Pebbles, Chelsea, Babi, Frisky, Chloe, Toby, and Zena.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence, a daughter Jean Northrup, a sister, two daughters-in-law, Nancy Osborne and Lera Osborne, two grandsons, David and an infant grandson Daniel Osborne; her favorite cat, Kitty, and two parakeets.
Marie was born February 15, 1915 in Glenwood, Iowa to Samuel and Clara Mettler. She married
Clarence on November 6, 1935 in Galena. He died in 1961.
Marie was a homemaker and later worked at Mercy Hospital and retired from housekeeping at St. Luke's Hospital in 1977. She attended the Salvation Army and later the Church of God of Prophecy.
Marie enjoyed hand sewing, embroidery, and made quilts and latch hook rugs. She enjoyed walks and watching birds. Her favorite bird is a Cardinal and her favorite flower is a Hyacinth.
Marie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed for her quiet and caring ways.
