Robert D. Riggle, 81, formerly of Marion, died at the Iowa Veteran's Home, Marshalltown, of complications of a long term illness. Friends may gather at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Tuesday, from 9 to 10 a.m. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca; five daughters, Linda Richard Birkes of Belle Plaine, Erma Ken Harris of Earle, AR, Jeri Don Woods of Cedar Rapids, JoeEllen Hauser of Vancouver, WA, and Nancy Vassar of Marion; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Thomas Edward, and a sister Francis.
Robert was born November 8, 1923 in Queen City, MO to Frank and Mildred Sinkey Riggle. He married
Rebecca A. Miller in Oskaloosa on June 14, 1947. Robert was a millwright at Quaker Oats for over 23 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Marion American Legion, and the Cedar Rapids Power Squadron.

Zetta B. Orcutt, 91, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. Services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 11 am at New Covenant Bible Church with Pastor Bob Westfall officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Walker cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Zetta Bernice Orcutt was born on September 1, 1919 to Charlie and Ina Moore Griffin in Alburnett, Iowa. Zetta was united in marriage to Russell T. Orcutt on March 5, 1941 in Coggon, Iowa. He passed away in 2001. They farmed in the Troy Mills area from 1941 to 1975. She enjoyed reading, stitching, golfing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Bill (Gail) Orcutt of Des Moines; Jim (Martha) Orcutt of North Platte, NE; 2 daughters, Elaine (Jim) Hilliard of Vinton; and Linda (Steven) Baumgartel of Cedar Rapids; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
Zetta was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; and sister, Leota Klemm.
Memorial donations may be directed to Mercy Hospice.

Kenneth Gaylord Neblung Jr, 81, of Willow Gardens Care Center, died there, Thursday, March 8, 2007, after a long illness. Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel by the Rev. William Harnish with military services. Burial: Oak Shade cemetery, Marion. A visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 2 5 p.m. and after 1 p.m. Monday.
Survivors include 4 daughters and their families, Lorraine Charles Ronnenberg and children, Betty Jo and Sandy, Peggy James McFadden and children, Brandon and Kyle, Debra Bruce Lekin and children, Kara, Kendra, and Kalsie with whom he resided for the last 5 years, and Cathy Neil Eichmeyer and children, Michelle, Matthew, and Nicole, all of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Donald Lori Neblung of Cedar Rapids and children, Scott and Deanna; and 6 great grandchildren.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine in 1983.
Kenneth was born on May 8, 1925 in Marion to Kenneth and Ruth Nelson Neblung. He married
Elaine McNabb on July 2, 1948 in Cambridge, IL. He was employed by Penick & Ford for over 30 years before working for 7 years at Coe College. Kenneth was a Navy veteran of WWII stationed in California from 1943 1945 and a member of the American Legion Hanford Post #5.
Kenneth was a member of several bowling leagues and a Hawkeye fan. He loved to go to Las Vegas where he could gamble. At home he liked to play Atari games.
Military services will be by the Hanford Post #5.
A memorial fund has been established.

Joshua L. Meier, 20, of Cedar Rapids, passed away in the early morning of March 30, 2012 in his home. There will be a service to celebrate Joshua’s life at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with the Reverend William B. Harnish officiating. A visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his parents, Ron and Charlene Meier; three brothers, Jason (Jennifer) Meier, Tony Ashby, and Justin Meier; four sisters, Renea (Mike) Readshaw, Tina Meier-Coufal, Amy (Rick) Ashby-Renner, and Jessica Meier; nieces Sophia, Emma and Shiloh Meier, Haleigh and Breanna McMurrin, Mason Coufal, Whitney Readshaw, Courtney Weng, Ashby and Jordan Renner; nephew Reid Meier; great-niece Briella Weng; grandparents, Al (Dolores) Meier; and additional family, Margaret Meier, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joshua was preceded in death by great-grandparents, John and Eldora Meier; grandparents, Chuck and Agnes Weed and Bill Meskimen, Sr.; a brother, Travis Alan Meier; and two uncles, Bill Meskimen and Jim Weed.
Joshua very much enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. Favorite activities include deer, turkey, and mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephew.
Special appreciation from the family to Tracy Peters and Dr. Donald Macfarlane of the University of Iowa Hospitals.

Louis A. Merrifield, age 81, of Robins, Iowa died Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 in the home he built on his grandfather’s farm land. Funeral services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 1:30 pm. Friends may call the prior evening, Friday, April 13, from 4 to 8 pm. Rev. Thomas E.S. Miller of First Presbyterian Church will be presiding. Louis will be buried at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty), and sister, Anita Peet (Jack) of Cedar Rapids and daughters Susan Merrifield of Iowa City, Bonnie Underwood (Mark) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Kristine Schwickerath (Lon) of Alburnett and son, David Merrifield. Grandchildren include Layla Merrifield, Jessica Johnson, Allison Schwickerath, Lisa Jolley, Todd Schwickerath, Micah Merrifield and Philip Schwickerath. Great Grandchildren are Madison, Sienna, Gus, Annie, Emma and Olivia. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family members. Louis was preceded in death by his parents.
Louis was born on September 1, 1930 in Cedar Rapids to Louis and Lillian (Donda) Merrifield. He attended Franklin Elementary School in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Wilson high School in 1948. He had many friends from Wilson high; class reunions were always important to him. Louis married
Dixie Floyd in 1949 and they had four children. He received a BA of Arts from the University of Iowa and continued there to Law School earning his law degree in 1971. Louis practiced law in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City from 1971 to 1986. He also worked at Friend of the Court and ran for Linn County Attorney in the mid seventies. Louis married
Elizabeth Benzies in 1971 in Baraboo, Wisconsin. He retired in 1986 due to health problems. Louis had a 50 year history of heart disease, with numerous interventions. However, on 12/25/2011 he was admitted to the University of Iowa Hospital due to lung cancer. After a short duration of radiation and chemotherapy, he became too ill to continue treatment. Mercy Hospice in Hiawatha provided ongoing care and support which enabled him to remain at home until his death.
Fishing, hunting, and being outdoors were important to Louis all his life; he had wonderful stories to tell of his many adventures. He also loved music and art and attempted to learn to play numerous instruments. He enjoyed movies and had a varied collection of foreign films, classics, musicals and academy award winning films which he loved sharing with others. A significant interest was military history, specifically WWII. He appreciated learning and sharing art history and especially enjoyed creating cartoons and personalized gifts for friends and family. Louis was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
The family appreciation extends as well to Dr. Allyn Mark, Dr. Rebecca Davis, Dr. Clamen, and Dr. Jeanette Harrington for their care of Louis over the years at UIHC in Iowa City.
The family requests that no flowers be sent and a memorial in Louis’ name will be established.
