Gary Anderson Murray, 70, of Cedar Rapids, died January 12, 2010 in his home following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary cemetery.
Surviving are his children Sheryl Murray (Michael Winslow) of Yarmouth, Teresa Murray of Cedar Rapids, Gary A. Murray and wife Dawn of Marion, and Jolene “Jim Jim" Graham of Cedar Rapids; his siblings Marilyn Walztoni and husband Frank, William Murray, and Ann Asquith all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Dean Ortberg, Eric Bragg, Michael Murray, Justin Cinkan, Aaliyah Murray, Elainah Murray, and Jack Murray; great grandchild Kaiden Murray; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Thomas Murray, his sister Patricia Alene Marsceau, grand sons Eric William Murray and Joseph Dean Stewart, and step father Henry Luetjens.
Gary Anderson Murray was born October 6, 1939 in Iowa City the son of Lyle B. and Irene (Seering) Murray. He was united in marriage to Jolene Kness on July 17, 1959, they were later divorced. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, and retired from the United States Naval Reserve. He retired from Rockwell following several years of service in printing. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, watching Wheel of Fortune, and crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed time spent with all his friends at the Starlite Room. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial fund has been established in Gary’s honor.
James "Jim" Roy McCormick, Jr.

James "Jim" Roy McCormick Jr., 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Per his wishes Jim has been cremated. Friends may join the family in a celebration of life at Mr. B’s located at 629 2nd Ave SW Cedar Rapids from 2 to 6 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2010.
Jim was born September 10, 1935 in Fairfax, Iowa. He married
Carol Tobler on May 9, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He owned and operated Jim’s Heating and Air Conditioning for nearly 50 years. Jim loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and boating, as well as Western movies and County Western music. He was very dedicated to his family and will be dearly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Tammy Jones of Shellsburg; James Roy (Anne) McCormick, III of Cedar Rapids; Michael Clark (Angie) of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, one brother, seven grandchildren, a great-granddaughter who is due in May, beloved pets Deanie and Sparkie, and many friends.
Jim is preceded in death by parents James Roy McCormick Sr. and Adria (Coleman) McCormick, a sister, and two grandchildren.

Paul M. Martin, 77, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. David Grandon will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his children Tom Wuertz of Denver, CO, Bonnie (Tom) Clarey of Marion, Dan (Cynthia) Martin of Cedar Rapids, and Michael Martin of Waterloo; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother Burt (Carol) Martin; and sisters Laura (Bill) Wolters, and Betty (Paul) Winters.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marcine, parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Paul was born April 3, 1932 in Germantown, IA the son of Albert and Bessie (Gibbs) Martin. He married
Marcine Jennings on December 27, 1958 in Sutherland, IA she preceded Paul in death on July 8, 2002. Paul was a United States Navy veteran serving from 1949 until 1954. He retired from Rockwell Collins as a Laboratory Technician in 1993 after 33 years of employment.

Wendel J. McAfee, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died February 20, 2010, at Winslow House Care Center, Marion, following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Rev. Jim Langley will officiate. Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Private entombment will take place at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum. Military rites by Iowa Military Funeral Honors.
Surviving are his children Daniel McAfee of Cedar Rapids, David McAfee and wife Kim of Erlanger, KY, and Sue Bennett of Cedar Rapids; three granddaughters, Alyssa and Kristen McAfee of Erlanger, KY and Jill Bennett of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by a number of nieces including Judi (Jim) McDowell of Colona, IL, and former son-in-law Bill Bennett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, brothers Willard and Clifford, and his sister Leta Paustian.
Wendel Jackson McAfee was born September 25, 1924 in Creston, Iowa, the son of Harland and Edna Alexander McAfee. He graduated from Davenport High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943 and served in the 714th tank battalion of the 12th Armored Division, serving in the European Theater and fought in the battle of Herlisheim and awarded two bronze battle stars.
Wendel attended Stanford, U.C.L.A. and New Mexico A & M, then graduated magna cum laude from Augustana College, Rock Island, IL in 1953. He then joined McGladrey & Pullen as a CPA, and became partner in 1960 and retired in 1983.
In January 1953 he married
Mary Margaret Derderian in Davenport, Iowa. She died in April 2008.

Dorothy L. Puckhaber, 90, of Aurora, Colorado, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, in the Cantebury Retirement Home in Aurora following a short illness. Services at 3 PM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, and at the chapel after 2:30 PM on Saturday.
Survivors include a daughter Carlene J. Smith of Aurora, Colorado, three grandchildren, Kelly Yeisley and wife Eileen of Marion, Candace Wuchter and husband Ed of Wiggins, Colorado, Jamie Abazaris and husband Jeff of Barnett, Missouri, a step granddaughter Tina Michelle Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers and five sisters.
Dorothy was born April 23, 1913 in Knoxville, Iowa to William and Mamie Kanamer Hodges. She married
Herman C. Puckhaber on August 24, 1936 in Chicago. He died in 1980. Dorothy worked in assembly at Rockwell-Collins for over 25 years retiring in 1975. She was past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a former officer of the Cedar Rapids Moose Club, and enjoyed bowling. She was president of the Council at the Syracuse Plaza Senior Center and a volunteer for the visiting nurses association.
Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had many friends in both Cedar Rapids and Denver. She will be greatly missed.
Esther "June" Munson

Esther “June" Munson, 79 of Cedar Rapids, died on Saturday February 27, 2010 in her home from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. Sick and tired of being sick and tired, June succumbed after a dignified battle surrounded by her loving family. Memorial services at 3:00 PM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday.
preceded in death by her parents, Edward Johnson Perdue and Elsie Clark Perdue; brothers, Robert Perdue and Edward Perdue, nephews, David Perdue and Chris Perdue, and her beloved aunt and uncle, Esther and Howard Flowers.
June was born on June 4, 1930 to Edward Johnson Perdue and Elsie Clark Perdue in Newark, Ohio. She graduated from Newark High School in 1948. Her father’s job brought her to Cedar Rapids where June met her husband, Bob, while working at Collins Radio and on June 7, 1953, they were married
. For 43 years, Bob and June owned and operated Munson Electric until their retirement in 1997.
June is survived by the love of her life and husband of 56 years, Robert “Bob" Munson; her children, Ole (Julie) of Arizona; Signe (John Henderson); Gunnar (Jean); and Erik (Becky) all of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Odin (Chrissy), Robert Benesh and Will Riepe, Gavin, Grant, Tracy, and Hillary and Tanner, and her great grandchildren Aspen, Ashton, and Jaxon and Owen; her sister, Virginia Svestka of Evansville, IN; her brother, Richard (Patricia) Perdue of Mary Esther, FL; her “other" daughter, Kim Smith of Marion, and her lifelong best friend, Marjorie “Petie" Jones, and many, many nieces and nephews.
