Gary Oakley, 66, died at home, Thursday, October 13, 2011. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel on Wednesday from 9 to noon. Interment: Springville cemetery, Springville. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his children Jonathan Oakley of Houston, TX and Kelley (Roy) West of Colleyville, Texas and their daughter, Scout. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Fisk of Canal Fulton, OH. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wyllis, and brother, Bobby Fisk.

Gary was born October 7, 1945 in Springville. He married Sue Jacobsen in 1968 and later divorced. Gary was a lab technician for Cargill for over 36 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #238. Gary loved his Harley and fishing. He was an avid skier and a volunteer paramedic. As a colorful linguist, a practical joker, and accomplished equestrian, when Gary decided to do something, he did it to the extreme.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Dorothy (Wieditz) Gibson Means
Born in Van Horne, Iowa on November 18, 1927
Departed on March 6, 2010. Resided in Manassas, Virginia.

Dorothy (Wieditz) Gibson Means, 82, formerly of Cedar Rapids, made her peaceful journey to heaven on Saturday, March 6, 2010 after a brief stay at Birmingham Green Nursing Home in Manassas, Virginia. She had been living with her daughter, Kristie, for two years prior to that.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 17, at 1:00 PM at Ascension Lutheran Church, Marion, followed by inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Dorothy was born November 18, 1927, in Van Horne, IA, the daughter of Herman and Emma (Rinderknecht) Wieditz. She graduated from Van Horne High School. Dorothy married Charles C. (Gibby) Gibson on September 21, 1947; he died on April 21, 1987. On May 9, 1991 she married Jack Means; he died on January 31, 2007. Before retiring, Dorothy worked as a manager of the Lin House Gift store at Lindale Plaza.

Surviving Dorothy are three children, Kristie (Lester) Mills of Manassas, Virginia, Peggy Wullner of Raymondville, Missouri and Guy (Shannon) Gibson of North English. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Sister, Loreen (Beryl) Eller, of Ft. Myers, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Harold, Howard and Robert Wieditz.

Dorothy was a wonderful mother, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, shopping and playing the slots. She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Capital Hospice.

Jane Frances Quint
Born in Ryan, IA. on September 21, 1941
Departed on August 7, 2002. Resided in Shellsburg, IA.

Jane F. Quint, 60, of 6213 32nd St, Shellsburg, died Thursday August 8, 2002 in Mercy Medical Center following a long illness. Services: 9:00 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Catholic Church. Burial: The Rev. David O'Connor will officiate. Friends may call on Turner West Funeral Home today from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where a wake service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Survivors include her husband Bernard, a daughter, Jacqueline A. Greiter of St Charles, Illinois, three sons, Roger J. Quint of Ames, Rodney E. Quint and wife Julie of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Brad Allan Quint of Cedar Rapids, 4 sisters, Ann Durfey and husband Roger of Cedar Rapids, Jean Frank and husband Melvin of Rural Wintrope, Inez Kremer and husband Ralph of Aurora, Judy Quint and husband Jerome of Dewar, and a brother, John L. Walderbach and wife Janet of Ely.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers.
Jane was born September 21, 1941 in Ryan, the daughter of John Walderbach and Bernice Mc Enany Walderbach. She married Bernard Quint on April 20, 1963 at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Ryan. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 1986 with an Associate Arts Degree. She worked for Carson Crain as a bookkeeper for 11 years and K Mart for 5 years. She was a member at All Saints Catholic Church,

James A. Milota
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on October 5, 1938
Departed on March 21, 2010. Resided in Marion, Iowa.

James A. Milota, 71, of 905 Valley View Dr. in Marion died there on Sunday March 21, 2010 after a short illness. Graveside services at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday and after Noon on Wednesday.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley, one daughter, Lori (John) Mallett of Cedar Rapids; three sons, Dale of Lebo, Kansas, Al (Shelly) and Jim (Stacy); a brother, Leo( Linda) and a sister, Shirley Jones all of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jordan (Heather) Mallett of Chicago, Illinois, Courtney Mallett and her fiancé, Greg Butler of Cedar Falls, Gage Milota of Manhattan, Kansas, Taylor and Gunnar Milota of Lebo, Kansas, Jade and Jamie Milota and Garrett and Gracie Milota all of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Mary Milota, two sisters, Betty Milota and Mariann Kramer and three brothers, Robert, Roy and Jerry.

Jim enjoyed both NASCAR and Indy racing, traveling and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Memorial donations may be given to St. Lukes Hospice in Jim's name.

Carroll K. Miskimen
Born in Elgin, Nebraska on April 16, 1921
Departed on March 25, 2010. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Carroll K. Miskimen, 88, of 3527 Field Stone Place SW died Thursday March 25, 2010 at St. Lukes Hospital after a short illness. Services at 1:00 PM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Charles Stevens will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl (Craig) McCormick of Cedar Rapids, a son, Douglas (Chris) of Solon and a brother, Charles (Dona) of Kansas. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Brian and Brett McCormick and a good friend, Cindy. He was preceded in death by his wife Lorene, two brothers, Darrell and Harvey and two sisters, Aleda and Elgia.

Carroll was born on April 16, 1921 in Elgin, Nebraska, the son of Charles and Hilda Anderson Miskimen. He married Lorene C. Parker on June 16, 1946 in Cedar Rapids. Lorene passed away in January 2010. Carroll was an electrician for over 40 years. He worked for several local contractors; the most recent was for Skogman Homes. He was a member of the IBEW, and a former member of Eastern Star, the Shrine and the Masons. Carroll proudly served in the Navy during WWII. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed wood working, going on rides with his dog, Toby and the time he spent with his friends and family.

A memorial fund has been established in Carroll’s name.

Bruce F. Mullen
Born in Kenton, Ohio on October 19, 1934
Departed on March 29, 2010. Resided in Slidell, Louisiana.

BRUCE F. MULLEN, 75, of Slidell, LA formally of Marion passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010. A memorial services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Pastor John Rosenberg will officiate. Inurnment with military honors will be held in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 until 12:00 PM on Wednesday at the chapel.

He is survived by one sister: Marsha Aukerman; four daughters: Stephanie Fudge, Christie Mullen, Deborah Hover, and Vickie Brighi; six granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and a sister-in-law Ann Mullen.

He was preceded in death by his wife Susan D. Mullen, one brother: Wayne Mullen, and his parents: James and Ruth Mullen.

Mr. Mullen moved to the New Orleans area in 1983. He retired from Textron Marine, and was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Slidell Flotilla #081-04-08 for over nine years, as a Division and Flotilla Officer.

Memorial Gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
