Carole Murray died on November 7, 2010 at the age of 77 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. A visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 PM on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call.
Surviving are her children, Maureen Loboda of Cedar Rapids, Colleen Murray of Seattle, WA, Kathleen Murray of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kristeen (Dan) Walter of St. Jospeh, MI, and Steven (Sandra) Murray of Cedarburg, WI; grandchildren, Joey and Michael Loboda, Jake and Olivia Niederhauser, Ben and Sam Walter, and Maxwell Murray; and a brother Peter (Jean) Wrenn of Savannah, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents, and a brother Richard Wrenn.
Carole Frances Murray was born February 11, 1933 in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of Richard and Bertha (Wiggins) Wrenn. She was united in marriage to Richard Murray on July 9, 1954. She worked at Randall’s Grocery Store in Cedar Rapids for 18 years.
A memorial fund has been established.
Patricia A. Murphy
Born in Monticello, Iowa on September 5, 1933

Patricia A. Murphy, 77, of Cedar Rapids died Tuesday November 2, 2010 at St. Lukes Hospital after a long illness. A celebration of Patricia’s life for family and friends will be held from 2 to 7 PM on Saturday November 13th at Patricia’s home, 4309 Ozark St. NE. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three sons, Kim (Jane) Mohr of Marion, Rory (Shelley) Mohr of San Francisco, California and Shawn (Marcy) Murphy of Cedar Rapids, step-sons, Patrick (Sharon) Murphy of Robins and Mike (Gloria) Murphy of California; two step-daughters, Margo (Larry) Uhre of Oregon and Tina (Paul) Nichelberg of Arizona. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Heather Povlick, Benjamin (Taryn) Mohr and Scott (special friend, Keri) Mohr; two great grandchildren, Delaney Povlick, Gavin Mohr; and several step grand and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Glenn Marshall.
Patricia was born on September 5, 1933 in Monticello, the daughter of Harold and Margaret Stott Marshall. She married
James I. Mohr in June of 1951 in Wyoming, Iowa. They were later divorced. She later married
Hamill J. Murphy in 1961 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 2002. Patricia worked at Collins Radio and retired from there after 28 years of service. She was an avid reader, enjoyed working cross word puzzles and doting on her beloved cat, Sid.

Marciana “Marcy" Eva Mason-Low, 77 of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Hospice House of Mercy. Memorial Services: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rt. Rev. Alan Scarfe. Inurnment: Mt. Calvary cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
Marcy was born November 17, 1932 at her grandmother’s home in Van Horne, in the same bed that her mother was born in. She was the daughter of James and Mariece Davis. She married
Harold O. Mason at Immaculate Conception Church on February 18, 1950 and they raised their three children. She married
Melvin Low September 18, 1997.
Marcy is survived by Melvin Low; daughter Karen (Rick) Louk, their three daughters, Kara (Mark) Felber, their children, Quinn Eva, and Maclain, Kamber (Jamie) Boeckmann and their sons, Kade and Landon and Katie (Matt) Meidlinger and their son, Louk, all of Cedar Rapids; Marcy’s son James (Sally/Theresa) Mason of Bloomington, IN and his children, Anthony, Todd and Grant, and Marcy’s son Martin (Carin) Mason of Shenandoah, and their children, Brandon (Brittney), Brock and Lincoln.
Marcy was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Harold Mason and her great uncle that helped to raise her, Gabriel Martineus Hanson.
Marcy worked in retail at Killians, Mays Drug, and Seiferts Clothing before retirement. She loved life to its fullest: enjoying music, shopping, food, dance, and most of all, her family. Courage, grace, and elegance describe the best way to remember the sunset on a life so well lived. We love you, GiGi.
In the final weeks of Marcy’s life, Hospice of Mercy and the Hospice House of Mercy became a place of caring and love. Her survivors will be forever grateful for the care given to Marcy.

Richard “Dick" D. Marth, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died October 16, 2010 at the Northbrook Manor Care Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Carroll Brown will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Private inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Surviving are his wife Nancy; children, Luann (Doug) Hiratzka of Coralville, Christopher (Rhonda) Marth of Westerville, Ohio, Andrew (Holly) Marth of Florida, Julia (Hubert) Reinhartz of Colorado, and Matthew (Mary) Marth of Vienna, Austria; step-daughter Jill (David) DeForest Colvig of Des Moines; a brother Harold (Bonnie) Marth of Rockford, IA; a sister, Janet (Wayne) Rawley of Iowa City; 8 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers and sisters.
Richard Dale Marth was born October 16, 1933 in Floyd County, Iowa the son of Henry and Anna (Adolph) Marth. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, stationed in Germany. He was employed for several years at Rockwell Collins as the Machinist Foreman. He later was the owner and operator of Dick Marth Inc., building homes in the Cedar Rapids area. He enjoyed wood working and listening to classical music. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Memorial donations may be made to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for Parkinson’s disease research.

Judith Ellis Ong, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids.
Memorial Service: 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Ong Sr.; C.J. Ong Jr. (Dr. Clar M. Baldus) of Cedar Rapids, David S. Ong of Eldridge, IA, Rachel E. Ong (Dr. Robert Behrens) of West Des Moines; Grandchildren, Joshua Ong of Eldridge, IA and Andrew and Anna Behrens of West Des Moines; Cousin, Robert Livesey of Massachusetts; Niece, Elizabeth McElroy; longtime friend, Barbara Basia Breita, both of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Walter James.
Judith was born December 21, 1934 at Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, the daughter of David J. and Mary (Cunliffe) Ellis. She graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School, Red Bank, New Jersey and attended Montclair State Teachers College in New Jersey. On January 26, 1957 she married
Charles Ong in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. Judy enjoyed reading, cooking, family and hot air ballooning. Judy was editor of the Iowa Balloonists Association newsletter for 15 years and was a lifetime member of the Iowa Balloonists Association. She also received several awards for her newsletter.

Mary Anne Nickerson

Mary Anne (Clark) Nickerson, 88, died Sunday June 20, 2010 at the Manor Care Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids following a lengthy illness. Memorial service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Peace Christian Reformed Church at 6600 C Ave. NE. Scott and Susan Clark will greet visitors at the church at 10:00 AM. There will be a private family inurnment at Mount Hope cemetery in Maquoketa at a later date. Cedar Memorial

Mary Anne was born on February 2, 1922 in Chester, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie William and Ruby Richardson Clark. She was raised in Chester and graduated from the Chester High School. She received her under graduate degree from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon and her Master’s degree in music from Syracuse University in New York. Her career included the U.S. Navy as an officer with the Hospital Corps during WWII; assistant Professor of Voice at Limestone College, South Carolina; Robert Shaw Chorale; National Association for Mental Health; American Heart Association; and RCA Victor Records. She retired as a trust officer at Manufacturer’s Hanover Trust in New York City.
Upon retirement Mary Anne moved from New York City to Cedar Rapids where she learned how to drive a car. She also fell in love for the first time, and on June 7, 1986, she married
Ronald W. Nickerson.
Mary Anne is survived by her four step-daughters: Lydia Nickerson of Minneapolis, MN., Bethany Thomas of Lincoln, Nebraska; Anna (Michael) Jessop of Philadelphia, PA.; Rachel (Sean) Schooley of Washington, Iowa; a brother, Dr. R.E. Clark of Manchester and nephews Scott Clark (Susan) of Cedar Rapids and Craig Clark (Mary Anne Reihman) of Davis, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron on May 8, 2010; her brother William Clark, and both of her parents.
