Randall Scott Pearson, 51, of Marion, died Monday March 1, 2010 at his parents home in Marion. Services: 3:00 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Randy is survived by his son, Matthew Bascom, daughter; Stephenie (Bill) Denny, and stepson; Timothy Bascom, his father; Lewis and stepmother Edith, brothers; Leland (Carol) Larry, sisters, Katherine (Paul) Bazyn, Judy (Paul) Hazlett, stepbrother; Ted Biggart, step sisters; Patricia (Dennis) Pohlman, Gail Biggart and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death is his mother Se Dalia (Hammer) and a stillborn brother.
He enjoyed all sports, Nascar racing and Green Bay Packer Games. He also enjoyed restoring antique equipment, fishing, gardening and flowers. He was looking forward to the birth of his granddaughter Kadynce this month.
His latest project was helping his father restore his grandfathers 1923 Ford truck. He was a great helper and handyman around the home of his parents, brothers, sisters and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends and neighbors.

Denver Daniel Parvin, 16, of Cedar Rapids, died March 8, 2010. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. William B. Harnish will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Surviving are his mother Angie (Joe) Barton of Cedar Rapids; father Dan (Karla Auderer) Parvin of Marion; sisters Paige Parvin and Hannah Parvin; grandparents Donna Zahorik, Ed (Rita) Parvin, Mike (Mary Kay) Barton, Laurene (Dave) Case, Judy (Gene) Wickman; great grand parents Bernadine and Gene Fisher and Darlene Barton; aunts Koby O’Brien, Dawn Hobart, Nancy Cortez, Michele Waller, Angelia Barton, Marcy Humphrey and Cindy Ackerman; uncles Dustin Crumes, James O’Brien, Steve De Forest, Tim Cortez, Jon Barton, Curt Barton, Dr. Michael Humphrey and Anthony Ackerman; cousins Nadine, Leigh, Madison, Taylor, Cole, Jack, Aubrey, Colton, Gabrielle, Brady, Tyler, Michael, Gavon, Garette, Grace, and Annalise; and close friends Anita Parvin and her children Jamie, Katie, and Elizabeth; as well as several extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Charley Zahorik, great grandmother Helen Briggs, and great grandfather Frank Parvin.
Denver “Den" Parvin was born October 10, 1993 in Cedar Rapids to Angie Crumes and Dan Parvin. He was a former student at Prairie/Oaks Prairie, and had recently become a student at Linn Mar High School as a sophomore. Den enjoyed sports, especially football, basketball, and baseball. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Denver Broncos. He had recently gained interest in weight lifting as preparation for sporting activities. He enjoyed drawing, playing video games, and his greatest enjoyment was music. Above all, he truly enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family.

Steven Michael Peet, 49 formerly of Cedar Rapids passed away on March 15, 2012 in Jamestown, North Dakota following a sudden illness. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 24th, 2012 at 11:00 am at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends and family may visit after 9:30 am before the 11:00 am service. Inurnment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
He is survived by his parents Jack and Anita Peet of Cedar Rapids; one brother John (Cindy) Peet Jr. of Fairfax; three sisters, Linda Peet of Cedar Rapids; Jean (Jim) Arthurs of Robins; and Jackie (Bob) Ness of Waunakee, WI; nephews Derek Peet, Jim Arthurs, Mike (Amber) Arthurs, Dustin (Angie) Peet; grand nephew Tatum Peet; nieces Amy Arthurs, Rachel and Molly Ness; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents Ray and Dorothy Peet and Louis and Lillian Merrifield, and his Dalmatian, Bruiser.
Steven Michael Peet was born on September 4th, 1962 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of Jack and Anita (Merrifield) Peet. Steven loved his family, a bargain and his “wheels", especially if they were on a Ford. His smile, jokes, laughter and good times shared will always be remembered with love in our hearts. He’s just too good to forget.

Lena M. Panosh, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday October 17, 2011 in the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Ludmilas Catholic Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. The Rev. Dennis Juhl will officiate. Visitation will be today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. at the church on Thursday.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Sue) Panosh of Denver, Colorado and Dennis (Peggy) Panosh of Cedar Rapids, a brother, Wilbur Newswander of Milan, Illinois, five grandchildren; Danielle Panosh, Nick Panosh, Jessica (Bryan) Netolicky, Chase Panosh and Kara Panosh, and two great grandchildren; Maxton Panosh and Sophia Netolicky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence C. Panosh, grandchild, Andrea Sue Panosh, a sister, Irene Hurt and brothers, Wallace and Gerald Newswander.
Lena was born November 28, 1921 in Aledo, Illinois, the daughter of Otis and Ethel Mawby Newswander. She married
Clarence C. Panosh on May 30, 1942 in Cedar Rapids. Lena was owner and operator of C & L Grocery Store for 15 years in Cedar Rapids and Lena’s Friendly Tavern in Belle Plaine. She was a member of St. Ludmila Catholic Church, a volunteer for Mercy Medical Center and an avid Cubs Fan. She and Clarence loved to dance and listen to Polka music.

Mary Ellen Petersmith, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died October 13th, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, October 17th, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Church. A private family internment will take place on Monday at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
She is survived by her three daughters, Margie Ridler of Cedar Rapids, Kate (Tom) Modzelewski of Cedar Rapids, Celee (Mike) Philipp of Milwaukee, WI; two sons, John (Chris) Petersmith of Cedar Rapids, Jim Petersmith of Los Angeles; 13 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Petersmith, and brother Fritz Foran.
Mary Ellen Petersmith was born on September 13th, 1923 in Estherville, Iowa the daughter of Francis and Margaret Howe Foran. She was united in marriage to Robert Petersmith on June 29, 1946. Together they raised five children. Mary’s greatest enjoyment was time spent with her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Food Bank.

Robert C. Plank, 91, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday August 13, 2011 at St. Lukes Hospital after a short illness. Services with military rites at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial on Thursday at 3:00 PM at Lakeview Memorial Park cemetery in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine, a daughter, Sue Biederman of Cedar Rapids, a son, Steven of Garden Grove, California and two sisters, Lorraine Vance of Mission, Kansas and Juanita Sumner of Eldon. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Michelle Biederman of Washington D.C, Michael Biederman of North Liberty and Courtney and Caelan Plank both of Garden Grove, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Dorothy and an infant daughter Virginia Ann.
Robert was born on May 20, 1920 in Eldon, the son of Charles and Fanny Russell Plank. He graduated from Eldon High School in 1938. Robert joined the Navy in 1942 and achieved the rank of Aviation Machinist Mate First Class. He was stationed at Kaneohe Bay Naval Base in Hawaii and at the Ottumwa Naval Air Station where he met his future wife, Elaine. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1946 and was united in marriage to Elaine Rhyner that same year.
In 1950 both Robert and Elaine attended and graduated from the Kansas City School of Watch Making and Jewelry Repair. In 1960 they opened and successfully ran Plank Jewelers in the former Killian Dept. Store in downtown Cedar Rapids.
He was a member of the Eldon United Methodist Church, American Legion, VFW, the Shriners and Crescent Masonic Lodge.
Robert loved to chat with people and always was there to brighten a person’s day. He was known the last several years as the “Gum Man" as he would hand out pieces of gum to those he came in contact with. He had a gift of being able to talk to anyone and make them feel special and at ease. He was totally in love with his wife of over 65 years and was a wonderful and loving father. He will be so very missed, but we are grateful for the time and life we had with him.
