Dana C. Reth, 41, of 4516 Maureen Dr. SE. died Monday Feb. 25, 2008 in Cedar Rapids. There will be a private celebration of life gathering at the Cedar Memorial Park Family Center on Friday. The Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Courtney and Katlynne Reth and a son, Jacob Reth all of Cedar Rapids, his father, Harlan of Paris, Missouri, his mother, Merridy, and a sister, Carrie Brent Hammes all of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by two grandmothers, Mabel Cueno of Sparta, Missouri and Clara Reth of Delhi, his former wife, Suzanne of Cedar Rapids, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Charles Reth and a step grandfather, Bill Cueno.
Dana was born on Jan. 2, 1967 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Harlan and Merridy Schweitzer Reth. He married
Suzanne L. Coffin on March 26, 1988 in Cedar Rapids. They were later divorced. Dana was a quality control inspector at Loparex for 4 years. He enjoyed playing disc golf, kayaking, watching Nascar, football, hockey drag racing and time spent with his many friends and family.

Delores "Dee" Marcella Stocks Losch Bailey Riffey, 84, 2501 Hwy 13, Marion died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. Services: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Wesley Bruss of Good Shepard Ev Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4PM to 7PM.
Surviving are two daughters, Joan Ondler Corky McQuaid and Jerri Springman Barry both of Marion; three sons, James Losch Sharon of Marion, John Losch Donna of Lutz, FL and Joseph Losch Diane of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and two sisters, Cora Mae Kuehl of Elkport and Charlotte Peake of Missoula, MT.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Myrel Stocks, Glen Stocks, James "Pink" Stocks, Jr. and Floyd Stocks; a sister, Lucille Pugh; and a great grandchild, Riley.
Delores was born April 23, 1923 in Garber the daughter of James William and Ella Mae Durfey Stocks. She was a dental technician for 19 years. Delores was a member of Good Shepard Ev Lutheran Church.

John J. Rink Sr.

John J. Rink Sr., 67, of 3808 Sprucewood Ct. NE. died Sat. Dec. 15, 2007 at Health Park Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida after a long illness. Per John's request there will be no public service. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 1 to 5 PM on Saturday where there will be a time of sharing at 4:00 PM.
Survivors include his wife, Annette, two sons, John Jr. Mary and Dan Christi all of Cedar Rapids and a step-son, Jeff Marci Eckles of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Conor, William, Emma, Adam, Madilyn and Nathan. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Jeffrey and an infant son, Nathaniel.
John was born on Feb. 29, 1940 in Berwyn, Illinois, the son of Chester and Albie Taclik Rink. He graduated from Washington High School in 1958. He married
Nancy Pearson in Cedar Falls.
They were later divorced. He married
Annette M. Vollenweider on May 12, 1993 in Cedar Rapids. John was a supervisor at Quaker Oats for over 39 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the N.R.A., and the Izaak Walton League. He enjoyed fishing, boating, trap shooting, spending time at the Cedar Valley Outfitters and gun shows. He especially enjoyed choir practice after work. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and beloved family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
Frances Ann Rinas

Frances Ann Rinas, 85, completed her earthly journey at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 24, 2007. She was attended in her passing by her husband of 62 years, Bruno Rinas, and by daughters and sons and grandsons and granddaughters and great granddaughters. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home on Friday from 5PM to 8PM.
Fran began her journey on January 18, 1922 in Clinton, Iowa as the first daughter born to Frank and Anna Faye Thompson. She attended Clinton primary and secondary schools and served as a "candy-striper" during WW II. She met future husband, Bruno, while working at Shick Hospital in Clinton. Fran and Bruno were married
December 27, 1945 in Cando, North Dakota. After farming two years near Egeland, North Dakota, Fran and Bruno relocated for three years in Ames, Iowa before settling in Marion in 1952.
Fran was preceded in death by a multitude of loved ones, including her parents, her beloved son, Mark, and her grandson Matthew Rinas, and also by her sister Naomi Gifford and half-sisters Helen Thompson and Katherine Leese, her uncle Marvin and Grandma Leese and Aunt Wilhemina Scott. She is survived by husband Bruno of Cedar Rapids, son Joe of Cedar Rapids, daughters Barbara Cordis Bechler of Sac City, Iowa and Linda Kurt Livingston of Marion and daughter-in-law Jennifer Rinas of Tipton, Iowa. Her grandchildren are Shelly Jim Chipman, Corinne Jay Hinrichs, YaVonne Bechler, Ron Livingston, John Jenni Livingston, Jennifer Mike Thompson, Nick Livingston, Joshua Jenny Rinas and Justin Rinas. Her great-grandchildren are Pari, Eli, Jesse, Carley, Eddie, Ele, Maggie and Kaitlin Rae.
Fran was first and foremost a homemaker in the highest sense of that word but was able to pursue several avocations for enjoyment and profit. A musician and artist, an avid antique collector and dealer and in her later years a proficient computer graphics artist and published poet.
Any attempt to condense a lifetime into a few paragraphs is futile. Suffice it to say that Frances Ann Rinas had a quick wit and a fine sense of humor. She was a woman of strong opinions who was not reticent to share them. At her core was a boundless well of love. In turn she was greatly loved and will be missed by those who knew her.

Nathan L. Reed, 89, 345 Marion Blvd, Marion died Monday, October 22, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center following a long illness. It was Nathan's wish to donate his body to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Memorial Service: 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church. Friends may call on Wednesday from 7PM to 8:30 PM at Christ Episcopal Church. The Rev. William Pugliese will officiate. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Nathan was born January 24, 1918 in Tomahawk, WI the son of Edward and Addie Linn Reed. He served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. He married
Bertha Bruner in 1939. She died in 1978. Nathan was a barber for over 50 years and owned and operated the College Hill Barber Shop in Cedar Falls, IA. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the American Legion. He married
Dorothy Fullerton in 1985.
Surviving in addition to his wife Dorothy are a daughter, Rachel Moore Tom of Ormond Beach, FL; a brother, Lyle Reed Reta of Mesa, AZ; four stepchildren, Kathy Brown, Christy Osthimer Kenny, Steven Fullerton Kathleen and Stan Fullerton; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Bertha, a son David, daughter-in-law Lorraine Fullerton and two brothers Dean and Bill.
Nate was always optimistic and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved children, his church, his family and fishing for crappies with special friends. He volunteered for many causes and was an avid gardner. He loved the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Church or to the Willis Dady Emergency Shelter.

Courtland "Gary" Rawson, 56, of 4114 E Avenue NW, died at the Midwest Regional Medical Center, Zion, IL, Saturday, October 20, 2007, after a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church by the Rev. Tom Pietz Burial: Spring Grove cemetery with military services. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Dianna; five children, Sheri Todd Gralund, Brian Rawson, Kevin Denise Rawson, and Teri Chad Edmonds, all of Cedar Rapids, and Chris Amy Rawson of Atkins; three sisters, Sharon Darold Morris of Elbron, Bonnie Sasek of Marion, and Pam Bob Klima of Coggon; nine grandchildren, B.J., Cody, Bailey, Courtney, Alyssa, Caitlyn, Savannah, Hunter, and Calley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his dog, Jake.
Gary was born on August 3, 1951 in Cedar Rapids to Hugh and Alta Rawson. Gary married
Dianna Johnson on December 19, 1970 in Covington. Gary was in the Marine Corps from 1970 to 1974. He worked at the Cedar Rapids Water Department for over 33 years. Gary liked to hunt, fish, listen to country music, watch westerns, and old movies and tell stories about events in his life. He was a wonderful husband, and an awesome dad and grandpa. He loved to spend time with the family. He was often found sitting on the floor in front of the couch watching TV with his grandkids. He was especially proud of his Koi pond. Gary will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dixie Lee Ray, 67, of Marion died Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha following a long illness. Services: 1:00 P.M. Dennis Sackett of Prairie Creek Christian Church in Vinton will officiate.
Survivors include a daughter, Lori L. Morgan Kevin of Marion; a grandson, Joseph "Joe" Morgan of Marion; her mother, Fern Wheeler of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Judy Boardman Del of Walker; three special cousins, Mary Alice Cejka of Hiawatha, Donna Sturdevant of Kansas City, MO and Marilyn Apland of Cambridge; two nieces, Kelley Cooney of Marion and Heather Miller of Cedar Rapids; a nephew, Kerry Miller of Cedar Rapids; and a special aunt, Zelma O'Neal of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her father and her husband Charles.
Dixie was born August 3, 1940 in Center Point, the daughter of Mark E. and Veta "Fern" Longfellow Wheeler. She married
Charles J. Ray on October 24, 1959 in Marion. Dixie was a Washington High School graduate and attended the St. Luke's School of Nursing. She was a nurse at Winslow House Care Center. Dixie was a very devoted mother, daughter, and sister. She will be forever missed, but never forgotten. Her strength will be eternally remembered.
